TitanFall Xbox 360 Update From Daryl Allison

Pilots of the Frontier, this is Daryl Allison, Sr. Producer at Bluepoint Games, developers of the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall.

When approached by Respawn to develop the Xbox 360 version, we knew a project like this would be a challenge and we knew the commitment it would take would be worth it. How does one start with a title focused on leveraging the power of the Xbox One and PC and make it look and feel just as good (and fun!) on the Xbox 360? Thankfully, Respawn saw in us what they wanted - the drive and ability to make hardware do the impossible - which put us in this fortunate position of launching Respawn’s new franchise with them.

"There are of course some technical differences that are due to the technical limitations of the hardware – for example, the game runs above 30fps" - Bet it doesn't stay there very often. Oh man can't wait for DF's framerate analysis because framerate will be far from "king" on this.

It's strange how they would announce this but then not show any video of it...??

- I mean if it's all good like you say, why not show it.?

kinda strange....

-But anyway I hope it's good, would be nice if 360 gamers didn't get short changed, as it's a really good game, I'm having a blast with it on My PC.

It will probably do a million copies on 360.. since a lot of gamers have not upgraded yet to Nex Gen.-So they probably will do some nice numbers, I guess we shall see..

Kayant4430d ago

Very true and unfortunately we won't be getting any leaks either because the servers are not on until launch day.

barb_wire4430d ago

Odd that little press release didn't mention that a hard drive is required with at least 1GB of available space.

Also, if you check out the thread on GAF, they have the boxart up for the 360 version. Looks like they use XB1 or PC images on the back of the box though. GAF is also saying that the game has already had it street date broken in parts of Europe.. shame nobody can play the game until those servers go live on April 8th though.

It's funny how now frame rate and resolution matter to Xbox One owners

candy_mafia4430d ago

I don't know why people are baying for Xbox 360 blood when it's patently obvious the 360 version will be the lesser version.

I hope it's playable enough and visually impressive enough for those yet to upgrade to X1 (or alternative hardware) so that they can enjoy TF :)

CJDUNCAN4430d ago

360 has the higher install base, and some people would rather get it on that console. It's hard to believe that people like what they like or that not everyone has the money to upgrade to a new console?

I'm sure they'll have a fun experience though.

Convas4430d ago (Edited 4430d ago )

Because there are people who have bet the farm that the Xbox 360 version of the game will outperform/perform on par with the Xbox One version.

Despite the fact that that makes ABSOLUTELY NO FACTUAL OR SCIENTIFIC SENSE.

The XONE is ~5X more powerful that the X360, yet somehow, I've seen people on this very site claiming that it's being hidden because it would put the Xbone to shame on a technical scale.

It didn't happen with BF4 or COD Ghosts on 360. Yet somehow ... it will happen for TitanFall. LOL

Case in point: DJ's comment below.

I think what a lot of people were saying is that it won't be identical but it also won't give you much of a reason to upgrade for $500.

KonsoruMasuta4430d ago

Or some people don't have $500 dollars in their couch cushions.

No_Limit4430d ago

Glad that it is coming out for X360 gamers next week. Best game I'd played thus far this year.

FPSRUSSIA4430d ago

I agree i bought it day one on PC since i have a PS4 and i got to say Best shooter i played and i have played alot of them cant wait for more Modes and DLC.

DJ4430d ago

The 360 version looks almost identical to the Xbox One version, that's why not a single video or screenshot has come out. Bluepoint Games probably did such a good job that Microsoft didn't want the Xbox One version to suffer sales wise.

FPSRUSSIA4430d ago

how to you know its identical to the Xbox one version have a seen screen shots or video or are you being sarcastic.

Elit3Nick4430d ago

look at his profile pic, should tell you all you need to know...

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1350d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1350d ago (Edited 1350d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp750d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
