The Elder Scrolls Online: Review in Progress (Part 1)-JPS

"At long last, the much anticipated The Elder Scrolls Online early access has finally launched over the weekend and since it opened up to those who pre-ordered the game, I have been spending almost all day playing it. When it was revealed the game required a monthly paid subscription, the fan feedback wasn’t the same ever since. With me spending over 24 hours with the game and reaching level 15, all I can say that so far – the game is worth getting despite all of the hate its getting going pay-to-play."

I am glad this is out for PC two months earlier. By June, we will know what the endgame is like. I know that there is veteran questing, adventure zones and time trials, and we will know if this is enough.

So far, so great. At this point, its worth a month for sure. For $60, u will get more content than u would get with 90% of other games. And I dont mind subbing at all, assuming that the PvP and end game is great too. No true raids is worrying but we will see. And for the love of all things MMO, please add duels ASAP. Its an mmo necessity.

I find it a bit clunky. GW2 is definitely more slick to play. And it's quite depressing reading skill descriptions that are so clearly identifiable from WoW.

But TESO is so open, it promotes freedom and most of the content I've played through is more engrossing than the typical MMORPG.

I'll give it some more time. One of the biggest things for me is that the long term ("end game") does not demand sticking to a schedule if you want to play.

I'm also glad it comes out 2 months earlier on PC because they can continue beta testing the game before we get it on consoles.

I'm not sure how the writer has taking so long leveling. I played the beta on PC and have watched people play on twitch and got to level 15 in like 12hours without doing a speed run and exploring.

What system are you getting it for?

Trust me when I say the combat is no where near fluid and as fun as skyrims its slow and sluggish!

Skyrim combat was slow and sluggish. Oblivion combat was downright terrible. It isn't a strength of the series.

TESO feels like an Elder Scrolls game that shoehorns in some skills from World of Warcraft. Combat still isn't a strength.
