I always skip cut-scenes when I go on my 2nd + playthroughs. There should be an option to do so.

When playing though a second or third time, cutscenes should be skippable. It is only natural.

Only casuals "skip".

The only skip I like are the crisps.

Ain't nothing "sudden" about it. If you've played through the game already, especially in a case like FFX HD which is a remaster of a PS2 game that already sold millions, then you don't need to see the same cutscenes again and there should be an option to skip them. Where have you been?

Suddenly? I always skip cutscenes on my second or third time through. Perhaps its this new generation of gamers that "suddenly" want to skip things because half of them have an attention span of a rock lol (and probably none of them actually sat through a single player game long enough to notice it)

Well if I am playing Madden I get tired of watching the scenes of the players getting up from the ground after a play or standing in a huddle. There should be an option to go immediately to the next play.

I just want to mention that many games use cutscenes to hide the loading, so in some cases it makes sense that you can't skip. Yes, it's nice to be able to skip cutscenes in games when you've seen them before (like in Fire Emblem, when you reload a chapter because you lost a solider... Again), but I don't think it should be a must have feature in every game, and certainly not the first time through (I'm often scared of accidentally skipping).

1. not every gamer cares about story in the games and no matter what game it is they want to skip the cutscene's to get to the actual gameplay

2. having to die then rewatch a cutscene over and over again gets pretty annoying

3.if you already know how the whole story plays out since you beat the game it be nice to skip the cutscenes if your just playing for the game itself

4. not every game has a good story or really bad voice acting that alone will want to make the player skip the cutscene

I don't like skipping cutscenes my first time through or if I want to replay for the whole story but repeat plays should allow for skippable scenes if you just want to play the game. WHen I started Dark Souls 2 I watched that intro cut scene then after that it was annoying to go through just to start a character but it's skippable.

I could clearly see the argument for the Ducktales remaster, a platformer with almost constant, but FF10 is a turn based RPG where SS uses them for level transitions.

Because when you wanna do a second run through of a game and know that most of the cutscenes are unchanged there's no reason not to be able to skip them. Lots of modern games allow you to skip cutscenes especially if there's a long drawn out overly dramatic cutscene proceeding the gameplay segment where you lost. Like in ffX ಠ_ಠ

most games have boring cut scene and some games..like Metal Gear have way too much...

I usually don't skip my JRPG cut-scenes since those games are mostly story-based.

... You couldn't skip the cutscenes in Infamous Second Son? Didn't notice. Was too busy enjoying what I paid for.

U die and have to watch a 10MINUTE cutscene again but, I just keep mashing away at buttons...

I'm almost shocked if u can't skip cut scenes in a majority of games these days.

I never skip cut scenes, there are times when I accidentally do and then I feel lost because I don't know what is happening in the story. I always hate watching my brothers play anything, they never watch cut scenes at all!

I do hate it however when I die and have to re-watch a cut scene multiple times because they can't be skipped.

Sucker Punch said the reason you can't skip cutscenes is because they serves as a loading screen. In other words, everything is loading while there is a cutscene.

When it comes to gaming, 99% of people on a forum are complaining cause know one goes on a forum to praise.

People keep ruining their franchises with unpopular changes because they're listening to the vocal minority.

Borderlands 2 had this problem also. After the first time or two, it's still fresh and fun to watch because you might hear something that you may have missed before. Not being able to skip cut scenes after seeing them through the course of multiple play throughs makes a person question design decisions and such. I mean after one play through their should be an option to skip them point blank period.

Because you don't want to watch it again especially when you know what's going to happen and you just want to get to the gameplay?

Two reasons.

One... if the story or plot they're showing you is boring as s***, who wants to sit through it.

TWO, if you've already seen it, why sit through it again?

For a game that encourages a second play through, you would imagine there being an option to skip cutscenes. I think it may have something to do with the game loading in the background whilst the video is playing. Who knows.

Because idiot author, people replay their games several times. Also, not everyone is an expert that they can beat a boss on their first try.

In the case of FFX, try going through that stupid boss fight of Braska's Final Aeon if you aren't properly leveled.
Also, when it comes to I:SS, the cutscenes are redundant the third time through, no matter how beautiful the game is.

At no point does the author say he WANTS unskippable cut-scenes. At no point does he say cut-scenes SHOULDN'T be skippable. He was making a point concerning the general REACTION to not making them skippable. The same hostile, freak-out reaction that sees people here calling him in an idiot because they can't even grasp simple context in an article.

Sony has so many great dominant IP's that they can bring back, such as Infamous, Socom, Ape Escape, Jak & Daxter, Siren, Sly Cooper, Killzone, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet, Gravity Rushy, Motorstorm, Wild Arms, Resistance, Wipeout, Alundra, Colony Wars, Cool Boarders, Knack, Syphon Filter, Dark Cloud, Omega Boost, The Legend of Dragoon, G-Police, The Getaway and so on. Many of these games is what defines Playstation and sets them apart in previous generations.

I rather they focus on that, instead of Live Service games that's been so heavily invested now days.

They could also work with third parties developers to bring these franchises back like Parasite Eve, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer, SSX, Tenchu, Jade Cocoon, Xenogears, Lunar Silver Star, Nightmare Creatures, Vagrant Story, Shadow Hearts, Driver, Breath of Fire, Tomba, Legend of Legaia, Okami..etc

I'm more of a new IP dude but infamous is one of the few series I want more of. Second son 2 where you play as delsin, fetch, and the video game guy (eugene I think?), Infamous 3 where cole comes back and maybe teams up with delsin against a new threat, A new game where maybe you pllay as another new protag who has to fight against an evil deslin who got messed up from absorbing too many powers and became some unstable super powered dude similar to the beast in infamous 2. Or just a whole new plot, characters and city. Series has a lot of potential

Problem with infamous is the morality system played into the endings in all the games so even though the player gets a choice for good of bad ending a sequel typically has to chose one of those endings to make cannon which may not align with players.

However I would love another one of these games they were all amazing

God I hope so. I’d be down with a new character, maybe in somewhere not in the US, like put it in London, Prague, Venice, somewhere iconic.
