The realm of online first-person shooters isn't exactly sparsely populated. Since last fall gamers have been given Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Team Fortress 2, Unreal Tournament 3 and Call of Duty 4, to name a few, all of which featured excellent online competitive modes. Compared to that, this year has been relatively light for first-person shooter releases, something Nexon is hoping to address by bringing their free-to-play, pay-per-item online shooter, Combat Arms, to North America.

CNN recently compared the Easter murder in Cleveland to video games. Games have often been pointed to as a reason to explain real-world violence, but there's no evidence to support such a claim, Gazette gaming columnist Jake Magee writes.

Combat Arms' latest update brings a new map to the game, and more.

Popular free-to-play shooter Combat Arms has received a new update that adds a brand new mode.
I'm surprised at how few free online FPS games are out there.
The only ones I can recall are War Rock, Soldier Front, GunZ (technically, this is a third-person shooter), WolfTeam, Counter-Strike: Online, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, and Warsow.
Combat Arms looks like it will be a welcome addition to the roster of free FPS'.
Combat arms sounds like it should be a B grade strategy RPG.
