How about doing something with Kinect before making us shell out more money for more GIMMICK DEVICES.

except for exercising Games, I'm totally not impressed with Kinect.

If Microsoft is smart, they'll make this open source and let the indie developers work their magic. It could be a great competitor for Google Glass, if they get it out first.

well if done right it will be nice..hopefully we dont need to stare and sit on a same position everytime.

AR seems to be a very different proposition than VR. I think AR glasses like the Google Glass have a much wider appeal to tech vs VR in that could become a big part of the mobile scene.

Well said, AR is not the same thing as VR.
The approaches have nothing to do with each other. If you want to compare something from Sony to the AR prototype from MS, it would have to be something in the line Playroom.

Even the vita has AR.

Should do ar/vr headsets for over a year now, especially since they do so much with ar already and brought that type gameplay to the public in the first place, but they brought us vr instead. I do believe that sonys vr will make ar unnecessary from a gaming standpoint seeing how it detects real world peripheral s and puts them in game.

I don't think Microsoft is even going to attempt to compete in the VR market unless it REALLY takes off.

Kinect and Move were kneejerk reactions to the success of the Wii, and Microsoft and Sony are still paying for them.

Sony is trying something risky with VR, either it's going to be another gimick like motion controls or it's going to catch fire. Microsoft is likely hedging their bets and putting these glasses into production as a precaution, just in case VR really is the next big thing, instead of just another gimmick.

This is a dumb article.... AR and VR are completely different things. This seems to be more like Google Glass than OR and Morpheus.

This paired with illuma room could become something special. Would offer a different immersion experience than the Morpheus.

MS Augmented Glasses may be an hybrid and compatible with Tablets / SmartPhones /Kinect(in every Xbox)/Window PC's and maybe used outside the home where VR can not.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
