Good read. I think we. Will see a lot more of the survival horror type games. They are OK to me, but I like my weapons. :( as for awesome innovated fps gameplay, maybe bigger maps more players, because a lot of people to kill in a decent space to do it is fun. Planwtside 2 looks great.

Thanks. I agree about the horror games, seems to be a bit of a trend lately.

Hopefully as devs start to get more out the systems we will see bigger, more interactive maps and player counts

Mirror's Edge was basically the only game that kind of made first person games look different to me

Patrick_pk444309d ago

The Forest is looking like an amazing survival horror.

bring back third person tactical shooters anyday!!

No_Limit4309d ago

I am very curious to see if the rumored Raibow Six Patriot can revive life into the so what dormant Tactical shooter genre.

Well, I'm keeping Alien + Destiny + Evolve under my radar.
I hope each studio can deliver great unique experience.

BlueCroup4309d ago

After getting hands on with Alien this week I cannot wait til October

fardan854309d ago

Lucky you.
I saw a vid for it only and it seems good. I wish we can get a proper horror game.
I wanna see more gameplay of the game in E3.

Inception4309d ago

Personally i'm tired with FPS, especially millitary FPS. That's why i'm waiting for more first person games like Mirror Edge, Portal, and Amnesia.

Hopefully Mirror Edge 2, SOMA, and Alien Isolation will satisfy my lust for first person games that not forced me to always shoot the enemies.

The Best Alien Games (To Play After Watching Alien: Earth)

An opinion piece on the best Alien games. From arcade Alien vs Predator action to a terrifying Xenomorph stalker, these are the best Alien video games starring Ridley Scott’s chestbursting, acid-blooded nightmare.

FTLmaster156d ago

Got a soft spot for AvP (2010) but solid list nonetheless.

Abnor_Mal155d ago

My favorite Aliens game also, having the three campaigns to play was great. Scaling walls as an alien waiting to ambush anyone that came too close.

Only played a little of the horde mode but was still fun.

Aliens Fireteam Elite was my GotY in 2021, single player was kinda bad but playing that game 3 player with friends was so good and really challenging on higher difficulties

Massive shout out to Aliens Vs predator 2 (2001), a dialup lag filled fun mess in multiplayer and 3 great campaigns

Report: Evolve 2 Was Once in Development, Concept Art Reveals Scrapped Sequel

It has been recently revealed by an artist that a sequel to the 2015 title Evolve was in the works. However, this project wouldn't last long.

jznrpg179d ago

Didn’t bother with the first one.

TheColbertinator179d ago

All I wanted was Left 4 Dead 3 instead

Abnor_Mal179d ago

Was this game ahead of its time? A few years later games like Dead By Daylight, Friday the 13th and other asymmetrical games exploded onto the scene.

MeteorPanda179d ago

if lm not mistaken it started the asymmetrical pvp matches. Evolves logo was a nod to their concept.

The_Blue179d ago

They should have because I played the first one when it was already dead

I played through most of the PS4 version of the game but stopped because another game came out. I bought it last year for PC with the intention of using the VR mod but haven't gotten around to setting it up. I am glad I waited.

Neonridr232d ago

Great game, even better in VR. A little drawn out by the end, but I hope we see CA do something a little different with the sequel.

OtterX232d ago (Edited 232d ago )

Sweet. I also rebought this game on Steam for the purpose of VR. I'll have to give it another shot w full immersive controls. I had only tried it out briefly before.

It's funny this was never officially released at retail as a VR game, bc it feels so perfect for it!
