Nope, it can be played without this patch. This new one was just released, and i can't seem to find any patch notes in the log on PS4.

Did anyone else get the ability to switch back and forth between powers (based on what you absorb) once you started Papertrail?

I couldn't do it before I started it. Or is that just a coincidence?

Have you guys had moments when the camera is not locked when doing the orbital drop ! Its so sick ! Try doing it under a tree or something

yeah its awesome, happened several times! ive also had unlocked camera during the radiant sweep, that was pretty badass too! Thats only happened once though

What does this new update add? We already have the paper trail missions in game activated, so is this fixing bugs?

Yeah, its just fixes. Which I found quite a few of. Fell through the game world a couple times.

My biggest problem, is I've already Plat'd this game, so I have to wait a week for every new paper trail mission for something to do.

I think it activiated the DUP raids once you finish the game. I wen t back to the game and now it tells when the DUP is raiding a part of seattle. It does it randomly now even once you drive them out by doing tthe district showdown's they will attempt to take back those areas.

yup! my connection is crap. besides that my internet goes down on a daily basis. but i heard Comcast and time warner cable is worse.

nah time warner cable is pretty good when downloading stuff.

now when it comes to consistency and even loading webpages which takes longer than usual

I have time warner as well and it goes down quite often. It's usually at night though. (around midnight to 6 a.m.)And our speeds are terrible in my area. It's probably just our area that's this terrible, but I hate it. Sadly it's the best internet in the area.

I have Brighthouse which is Time Warner company here in the south and have no problems. 90mbps down and i think 10 up (can't remember the up speed) but never have i had a lot of disconnects.

I have Comcast, 50mbs down,10mbs up, and it works as fast as advertised, but the internet server down time is ridiculous. Internet goes down for hours at certain days of the month wiithout notification or schedule. Despite that, it's consistent when downloading, no drops in speed. A file of 333 MB would take around 3 minutes at my current speed.

What internet speeds does that get you? Upload doesn't matter unless your playing online games. What is the download speed?

Actually uploading is directly tied to downloading. If you throttle down your upload speed, it will reduce your download speed.

Papertrail fixes would be welcome.

I had many issues with it, from updating my status to losing progress on the website AND (believe it or not) in-game forcing me to redo whole mission segments.
Very disappointing and a little frustrating.

I think it has story reasons:
Good Karma = Bright Day
Evil Karma = Noon

I think the city looks spectacular with good karma (I think I didn't even see this scenario during the campaign) but evil just looks boring.

Merrin hasn't started any episodic content yet, do you have to play them as they are available? ie after I finish game will they be there for me to play or will it finish?

It'll be there for you to play. On Papertrail for example I got to part 2 on my good karma playthrough, which required uploading to a website and checking the clues and then going back to the game a few times. On my evil karma playthrough you just take the pictures and collect the evidence and as soon as you go back to the mission marker it checks the website and it'll see you already did that on your good playthrough so you don't have to upload and see the clues again, it'll just have you continuing on to the next segment.

So far I beat it on Good karma and just finished the bad Karma, and ready for part 3 of paper trail missions... When I started my PS4 yesterday morning the patch was downloading it took about 3-4 min. I have time warner and I get 100mbs/10 mbs. I hope they keep the side missions going..... I'm really loving this game so much . I hope everybody is having a blast with ImFamous Second son.

I know for me this patch fixed some bugs with my TV set and the HDMI connection, its stable as fuq now. Before every time I went to the map/powers screen it would act like the 1950s and fuzz up. EVENTUALLY it would stop, but now its definitely more stable.
Dont know what else it does.

However, I would love to see some actual DLC for this game, not papertrail related. Its just fun to play Second Son and any time spent playing it is joy.

In a funny way this game also makes me want to warp my hand around a new and BETTER Prototype.

Infamous was such a winner its studio was given the freedom (after 3 titles + their expansions) to do a new IP with GoT, just like with Sly Cooper before infamous.

I'd welcome a 4th title even more than another Spider-Man, it'd be exciting what they could do with new powers fit for the hardware outside the limits of a licensed superhero game.

I liked it but it ended too quickly. You could tell it was a launch game and wasn’t as good as the first 2 but it was still a pretty good game imo I just wish it lasted longer

Sony has so many great dominant IP's that they can bring back, such as Infamous, Socom, Ape Escape, Jak & Daxter, Siren, Sly Cooper, Killzone, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet, Gravity Rushy, Motorstorm, Wild Arms, Resistance, Wipeout, Alundra, Colony Wars, Cool Boarders, Knack, Syphon Filter, Dark Cloud, Omega Boost, The Legend of Dragoon, G-Police, The Getaway and so on. Many of these games is what defines Playstation and sets them apart in previous generations.

I rather they focus on that, instead of Live Service games that's been so heavily invested now days.

They could also work with third parties developers to bring these franchises back like Parasite Eve, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer, SSX, Tenchu, Jade Cocoon, Xenogears, Lunar Silver Star, Nightmare Creatures, Vagrant Story, Shadow Hearts, Driver, Breath of Fire, Tomba, Legend of Legaia, Okami..etc

I'm more of a new IP dude but infamous is one of the few series I want more of. Second son 2 where you play as delsin, fetch, and the video game guy (eugene I think?), Infamous 3 where cole comes back and maybe teams up with delsin against a new threat, A new game where maybe you pllay as another new protag who has to fight against an evil deslin who got messed up from absorbing too many powers and became some unstable super powered dude similar to the beast in infamous 2. Or just a whole new plot, characters and city. Series has a lot of potential

Problem with infamous is the morality system played into the endings in all the games so even though the player gets a choice for good of bad ending a sequel typically has to chose one of those endings to make cannon which may not align with players.

However I would love another one of these games they were all amazing
