It can be difficult to measure the worth of a ported title to a newer, more powerful console. Inevitably, people will make comparisons to the previous version, gauging if the transition to the new system is any better (or different) than the original game or if any glitches or bugs have been fixed between versions. Most importantly, fans will want to know if they're missing anything by not buying the game again. In Sony's case, their first party basketball title, NBA 07 came out less than two months ago on the PS2 and PSP, and it's helping to lead the charge onto the basketball court for the PS3. But is this version of Sony's basketball title any better now that it's made the leap into the next generation, or should this game be benched for poor play?

Demos and trailers available as Sony enters next-gen market.
Sony has launched the PS3 online service, with access to the PlayStation Store where consumers can download the first batch of playable demos.
The service, Sony's equivalent to Microsoft's Xbox Live and Marketplace, can be accessed for free, and lets new PS3 owners set friends lists and send messages, as well as create an avatar.
A number of playable demos are available, including Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, NBA 07 and Formula One Championship Edition. Two full games are also available for US$ 7.99 (EUR 6.25), Cash Guns Chaos and Blast Factor...

The PS3 could launch with 24 titles and Wii with 30 titles according to new documents detailing the two companies' plans.

lol both console beat the 360's launch by far. there are alot of exclusives launching with each console. i think i would get the ps3 with resistance, motorstrom, gthd, full auto2 and maybe fear.
for the wii i would get zelda, red steel and excite truck.
both ps3 and wii have a good line-up which we can all agree is a good thing for us gamers. And with gears of war coming out and the ps3 and wii launching in Nov., i might have to drop out of nyu and forget the whole medicine thing. The Gift and Curse of the next-gen.
There is nothing in the PS3's lineup that screams come buy. As far as the Wii's Zelda, You know your getting a great game after months of delays.
On the PS3 hmm..( Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom , Mobile Suit Gundam: Target In Sight,) I would wanna play. All the other games are either mediocure or will be on the 360.
So as of right now I don't see why I would pay $600+ for the PS3. No anticipation with any of these games besides COD3, Rainbow Six: Vegas. I'm not too exctited for all the other titles form the Wii cause I'm not sure how the contoller will play out. I just wanna play zelda for now.
Those are pretty good lineups, the only thing for the ps3 that may hurt it is the fact there is only 7 of those games that are exclusives. Also i heard Ninja Gaiden is coming out early next year, and Fight night is in December now.
But really they're pretty good
Hmmm... as much as I'd like to believe in these lists, I know there will be titles pushed. Just like for the 360, when we get within about 2-3 weeks several titles will be delayed.
Heck, Fight Night Round 3 was already delayed from Nov.17 until Dec.12 and it's a port!
btw, shouldn't this be in the ps3 section?

That is a good launch window. A really good launch window for real. I wonder how many are confirmed.
nothing stand out on that list that say buy a ps3.its even multiplat games or whats all ready out on the 360 no ofence.plus every game on 360 surport live i dont no a bout ps3 online half tho games on the list dosent have on line features.
yea it looks way better then the PS2 launch ... ( FANTAVISION ) i hated that game but this one looks way better
People who one bloth systems will have some hard chioices to make when it comes to multi platform games.
Get achivements or not. On line game play or not. Free demos or not.
is great. it is much better than the 360 launch, but where is motorstorm and resistance?
Better than I thought it would be. The online features are definitely innovative, but I don't the gameplay has improved enough to warrant a purchase. Maybe next years will be even more improved.
Honestly, the game sounded pretty boring until I got to the part where they'll be adding 5 new scenarios a week based on some signature plays during the week in NBA games. That is interesting, and may actually have me renting a sports title. I'm still not much for the plastic looking characters in next-gen video games.
hope the final version plays better than the demo.
