New Fable 2 Screens

Tony writes,

"Lionhead just sent word via their e-mail newsletter that there's new Fable 2 screens available. They also released the final design of the game's cover, which I think looks really good. It perfectly encapsulates the point of the game and plays off the cover of the original.

There still isn't an official release date for Fable 2, but given how well things appear to be going I am hopeful that we will be hearing something about that soon."

Looking good but Peter Molyneux really needs to stop overhyping his own games. I mean they're great but they're not as revolutionary as he makes them out to be. Fable was a good game but it wasn't what I expected.

Boldy6584d ago (Edited 6584d ago )

The only time I here Peter Molyneux talk is in the Video Diaries and at the conferences.

Peter's promises for Fable 1 couldn't really be carried out on the technology of the Xbox, so is it really his fault that things got cut? No, It was just too much for it to handle which is why a lot of stuff got cut, but it was his fault for giving out features of the game that just couldn't make the cut. Now they got the 360 which is much more powerful then the Xbox 1 so I guess we'll see from there. So far, it seems like they are making some very nice upgrades from Fable 1 that are in the game.

the colors look great, very vibrant... but otherwise it looks very jaggy.... theres still time i guess

dogseye_deadhorse6584d ago

yeah im hyped for this game to but those screens dont look all that great really. cool art direction but, i dont want to say it, kinda xbox 1 graphics in some of those screenshots. nuthin that looks amazing really. just my opinion so dont have a cry.

yesah6584d ago

looks fantastic, the environment, especially the leaves look great.

Superfragilistic6584d ago

I actually feel Molyneux has been pretty well behaved compared to Fable 1, or maybe MS have just got him on a tighter leash this time round.

Either way, I loved the first one and the second fun looks like even more fun. Beautiful art direction and design.

Bolts6584d ago (Edited 6584d ago )

Everything he does is absurdly over hyped. Lets not forget that Black and White was supposed to be a genre breaking RTS with near sentient AI. It turned out to be some sort of pointless pet slapping sim. Then there's Fable, a good game, but not the scientific achievement he claimed.

Its as if he's desiging games in some sort of vacum where mundane features like day and night cycles doesnt' exist and he's the first dev in the world to come up with the concept. Totally absurd. Its a good thing his games doesn't completely suck because he's in a danger of becoming the next Derrek Smart.

I expect the game to meet the hype, and if it does not, screw molyneux

Peekay6584d ago

this and Gears 2 are the only two games that make me want a 360. I'll probably pick one up at the end of October.

Nytr86584d ago

I loved the first Fable, very ambitious for its time.

Rare to have a game that compels you so strongly to want to play twice just to see how good and evil it can really be.

meepmoopmeep6584d ago

it's looking fabulous. no release date yet though

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer910d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog910d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned910d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c910d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb910d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies910d ago (Edited 910d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal910d ago (Edited 910d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72910d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman910d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos909d ago (Edited 909d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows909d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.
