I'm still working on Lost Odyssey. I like to play a JRPG about once a year. Considering that their were no, JRPGs for the original Xbox, I can't believe how many have come out for Xbox 360.

it does look interesting, and i will have to add it to my library depending on the reviews.

voicework looks wonky, but then again i am comparing it to LO, which had decent voice actors.

what's with jpn making eng dub the default for rpgs headed for the 360 roffle? i'm not being a japanophile who thinks "jpn dub>eng dub" 100% of the time, but i just find it weird.

Square Enix could not produce their envisioned title of Infinite Undiscovery due to the poor hardware, lack of a standard HDD and a last-generation optical disc format found exclusively on the Xbox 360. Because of this hardware bottleneck the new IP released by Square Enix will just be slop of what the future Final Fantasy titles will achieve because Square Enix will have the power of the Cell processor, a standard HDD and the disc capacity found on the Blu-ray disc which are only found on the PLAYSTATION® 3.

Square Enix had put all of their top and brightest teams together to concentrate on the Final Fantasy XIII & XIII Versus projects which left them with their mediocre and outsourced teams with nothing to do and so they decided that they will develop a mediocre title so that the Xbox 360 userbase won't be as bitter when both Final Fantasy XIII games arrive exclusively for the PLAYSTATION® 3.

Yep, didnt have this one on my list for this year, thought it was a 2009 game. There are going to be a ton of RPGs coming out this fall, I wish some of them could be pushed up a bit because there is no way I am going to have time for all the games I want to play. I am having a hard enough time keeping up with the games this summer thanks to games like LO and GTA I havent even gotten to RB6:V2 yet and Condemned 2 got set aside.

I'm surprised its coming out this year too, I hope they aren't rushing it out the door.

I also guess their releasing it this year so they can focus more on Star Ocean 4.

Ps3 is getting two final fantasy 13 games. So i guess that is Square Enix's big challenge to keep focused on those on the PS3 so we should be hearing more this year about the games.

looks like I might have to wait for a price drop on this one... Disgaea 3 takes precedence over this one. And with several solid games coming out later this year there's no sense in spending $60 on this only to have it being sold for $40 by the time I'm ready to play it. guess we'll have to see how things go this year. Half of winning my money these days is timing. I've spent too much money on games that I don't get around to playing until they're cheaper. So my latest rule of thumb is if I'm not going to play it immediately then I'll wait until I'm ready to play it before buying it... I'd probably buy this before Tales of Vesperia though...

There was almost no lead up to this announcement. Hell, I figured this title would slip into 2009 with all the lack of information. And next, they'll surprise us with an unexpected announcement that Last Remnant is coming out in October. Jeez.

I rather wait for the real deal than play through so many forgettable games. Like Lair and Haze, many 360 JRPGs are condemned to the same fate.

What amazes me is that the FF games were announced before this game and this game is basically finished. I wonder what they are doing with those PS3 dev kits. Last Remnant is PS3/360 too!

i bought lost odyssey not long ago and ever since ive been scouring the bargain bins for jrpgs. Picked up FFX and grandia 2 and gonna get rogue galaxy and odin sphere, blue dragon and maybe enchanted arms if i can find it.

How am i gonna finish em all before the new 360 games release though!

Not trying to start anything but there is no way this thing stays exclusive. There is really no incentive (at least that I can see) for Square-Enix to keep this game exclusive to one console. I'm sure its a timed exclusive and most certainly will be if it sells poorly... then you can start counting the days til the PS3 release. Either way it looks to be a great game.

Bethesda uses an engine from 90s they just tweak it. Lots of devs use old engines you just don’t know about it.

Tri Ace isn’t a big dev so unless one of their games becomes more mainstream they aren’t easily able to just put money into making a new engine.

Star Ocean The Divine Force was a good game I really enjoyed it.

Sure it could look better but I still like their games.
Hopefully more people support these smaller devs and buy their games so they can have the ability to do things like upgrade engines more frequently.

it's a jrpg. you want it to kinda be like a ps2 game.

Graphics do not make the game. They can make a game more appealing, but a polished turd is still a turd at the end of the day.
