I thought Respawn didn't make the 360 version?

Sharodan4436d ago

Quite right, it is Bluepoint Games working on the 360 version. It was actually EA that announced the delay, not Respawn. That's been updated in the site's excerpt for the article too.

Army_of_Darkness4436d ago

It was obviously delayed by MS so that they could get more sales for the Xbone.

Pogmathoin4436d ago

As far as I know, MS delayed the game to give credence to the poster. I have seen someone post so much about one game.... I believe it was done because they felt so bad about someone who really feels a need to seek attention....

nicksetzer14436d ago

@pog I agree the original d3lay was all MS, but why would they lengthen it 5 days before launch when they could have just said 1 month delay to begin with? Clearly the game was not up to snuff. There are a lot of things that most likely cannot be done on the 360 version that may change the way the game plays, they now have a month to work on it(as originally the 2 weeks was just to promote xb1 sales) and make it play well.

PSVita4436d ago

The thing is there are better games that have a single developer and they can release 3-4 different versions at once and I'm suppose to believe 1 dev can't make 1 version of a multiplayer only game for a last gen system?

nhales804436d ago

Every time I read that EA is voted Worst Company in the World I just shake my head. People need to get in touch with reality. There are far worse companies than one that makes video games.

DawnOfDon4436d ago

Exactly how can a company being based on its video games be voted for this? There are tons of other better candidates

fonger084436d ago

This whole poll itself it flawed. All it is based off of is negative publicity a company may have had during the recent calendar year. It never really does any actual statistical research on who the American populace thinks should be part of this "worst" company pool.

pompombrum4436d ago

^^^ Thing is though, EA deserve all that negative publicity. Gamers are a loud outspoken bunch, if they didn't keep on milking them dry and actually tried showing them a level of respect, maybe they wouldn't get voted worst company in America. The battlefield 4 fiasco alone deserves them a spot on that list imho and things like Dungeon Keeper Free to wait crap just adds icing on the cake.

IcicleTrepan4436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

because of the horrible way they treat their employees like slave labour, forcing them to work excessive stretches of free overtime.

fonger084436d ago

@aiBreeze I'm not saying EA doesn't belong there, trust me they do. All I'm saying is that pool is put together from a composite of negative attention a consumer company got this year. Not from researching actual customers that contributed to the selection of companies on this list. Either way EA would be on this list, but I highly doubt the average consumer out there knows who they actually are or what they are negatively known for.

morganfell4436d ago

"Thing is though, EA deserve all that negative publicity. Gamers are a loud outspoken bunch, if they didn't keep on milking them dry and actually tried showing them a level of respect, maybe they wouldn't get voted worst company in America."

This.

The next time someone wonders why worse companies are not at the top of the list, they should ask them selves a question. How many times did you attack EA on a public site and how many times did you attack some company spewing waste into ground water?

turgore4436d ago

Its enough to ruin your favorite game and bam, 20 million downvotes. They did this with sim city last year. There was also a huge circlejerk about other issues like season passes.
People need to grow up. Telecom companies that rip you off of hundreds of dollars per year or companies that destroy the environment should be voted on top.

Patrick_pk444436d ago

Not the worst company, however, worst video game company

Pick just about any of the worlds Governments, they make EA look like the tooth fairy!

mmc-0074436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

this pole is just based on how a company treats their consumers. And EA treats them like sh**, that's why..

Cusmar3504436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

You're so right. I mean, Bank of America got nothing on EA. They just evict people from their homes, which definitely isn't worse!

Baka-akaB4436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

Even by that standard there are worse companies . Like most big ISPs . But i guess some folks in america are happier having their internet throttled by the likes of Comcast and AT&T , while being outrageously charged ...

DLCs you can ignore and spit upon are worse /s

gamernova4436d ago

Just goes to show how much power the internet has. What happened to PIPA and Cispa? Exactly. We can do so much when we are all passionate and on the same page.

pompombrum4436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

First off, it's not worst company in the world, it's worst company in America and secondly, it's a CONSUMER based website. While I'm sure there are worse consumer related companies out there, EA certainly rank high up there. They epitomize everything that's wrong about the game industry from a gamer's perspective.

Another thing to consider is that everyone around the world is effected by EA, not so much with the other companies, directly at least. Heck, I'm from the UK and haven't even heard of half of them that were on the list last year let alone know what service they offered.

DawnOfDon4436d ago

It is not the worst company in America, I would say all the banks would be above EA

Nodoze4436d ago

Yes indeed. Monsanto is the worst company in the world. Unbeknownst to millions that are eating their GMO garbage on a daily basis.

it was ms hoping 360 owners would take the plundge and buy a x1 to play it

Dudebro904436d ago

Because people who were waiting on the 360 version to begin with, will suddenly spend an additional $500 to not wait another two weeks?

Sounds legit.

itsastranger4436d ago (Edited 4436d ago )

While that may seem like an outlandish idea...when you couple it with the fact that they decided to include the game at "no additional charge" in most regions to make the jump...it seems fairly logical

Even if you grow the install base by .25% you're still talking about $5MM USD in additional system sales. That would be like 10,000 systems...I personally believe there are at least 10,000 people in the world that would fall for this.

Seems like a really small risk for a pretty decent reward for Microsoft and EA.

Jazz41084436d ago

Do you guys not read the article or just look for an excuse to bash microsoft. It clearly states that the delay was EA's decision and plainly states microsoft had NOTHING to do with it.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio17d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing17d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit17d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing17d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
