Gozer4436d ago

Looks like it would cause a headache and motion sickness.

G20WLY4436d ago

Are you trolls prone to motion sickness then? ;P

Looks very intriguing to me... I'm surprised how quickly it keeps up with head movements. And there didn't seem to be any motion blur due to them, either. Looks like good kit, hopefully they can incorporate it in a fun way for gamers! :)

DigitalRaptor4435d ago

You sure would know about that. From watching these videos, seems to be the only source of information you are using.

Is this the enlightening place where you are getting your "hindered tech" factoids from?

blakstarz4435d ago (Edited 4435d ago )

Why would some of you disagree with that? There is a possibly that something like that could happen to someone especially with epilepsy.

azure19904435d ago

As someone with epilepsy, I probably won't use this just for that risk. Being in closed in a room with a strobe light isn't fun. . So wearing a VR headset would probably be worse.

yezz4435d ago (Edited 4435d ago )

@blakstarz

Playing flashy games with a normal TV is also somewhat risky for someone with epilepsy... What's your point??

blakstarz4434d ago

@yezz

The point is why would someone disagree with the fact that this VR headset could do that to some people is what I'm saying here.
I'm just agreeing with Gozer.

frostypants4434d ago (Edited 4434d ago )

People whined about the same thing when first person shooters first came along. Invalid concern.

Studio-YaMi4434d ago

I'm going to see your comment when Microsoft announce their take on virtual reality,I bet you'll be all over it,huh?

Since you know...you're all over the Kinect, which is a shameful excuse of a peripheral(for gaming that is!not knocking it as a whole).

starchild4434d ago

Some people probably will, but the technology has improved to the point that I think most people will be just fine.

For reference, I've used the DK1 version of the Rift on several occasions and I didn't get any real motion/simulator sickness. And that is despite the fact that the DK1 is much inferior to the DK2 in the areas that contribute to motion sickness.

Then again, I have never been overly prone to motion sickness. Some people do get a little woozy, but some of those people adapt to it after a while and get a bit more tolerant of it.

It also depends a lot on the game and how it was designed. Extremely fast motion and unnatural motion tend to cause a lot more problems.

wonder if this is good for youre Eyes lol

Applejack4435d ago

Like many electronics, it's best to not play for extended hours. I don't listen though lol.

Ninjamonkey824435d ago (Edited 4435d ago )

Already explained there's plenty off room in there for Glasses so you can go blind blissfully :). I don't mind as long as I'm trying something new.

bleedsoe9mm4435d ago

i like the guy playing and not moving his head VR might take some getting used too .

lnvisibleMan4435d ago (Edited 4435d ago )

What game is being played?

starchild4434d ago

The first one is not a game, it's a demo. I think it is called "the deep". The one on the second screen is Eve: Valkyrie and it is exclusive to the PC/Rift and PS4.

Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

I do like the irony of the closing paragraph though, "Why VR Adventure Games are Thriving". Really buddy?

mooreneco2132d ago

That’s because it’s his favourite VR adventure games thus far, a great game always a great game regardless of age - Half life 2/ Ocarina of time - are old but still among the greatest games of all time. The irony of it is several are from last year, depending on platform, have you even played VR?
