Neither Colin or Gregg reviewed it since they are the biggest fans if Infamous at IGN... So they had someone less likely to influence the score due to fan attachment to score it objectively! I wish I didn't watch the video review because it spoiled some of the powers!

Gotta say though! 4 power sets is astounding... I can't wait to see the variations and upgrades with the new skill tree upgrades for this.

Finally a game that can make me buy a ps4

Yea what I'm getting from most of these reviews is story is not that amazing but, the gameplay is so good it barely matters. And I can live with that.

These review scores seem to be right in line with what the first 2 Infamous games happen to end up at. Which isn't a bad thing.

I usually agree with ign, gamespot, and game informer when it comes to score. Every game I liked and every one I thought was just OK received proper scores from those sites imo. So its good to see it averaging an 8.4 ish score between those sites. Can't wait to pick this up tomorrow! Seems like the story may struggle a bit, but it's a blast to play, still sounds like a winner to me.

Very fair score. I was very disappointed by the lack of side quests that would allow you to interact with other conduits and citizens of Seattle. I was even more disappointed by the last power. You get it literally when you beat the game. These two things make me want to dislike the game, but I can't stop loving it.

People just have to remember sony exclusives are held to a higher standard than xbox exclusives. If this was on the xbox1 this would be getting so much praise and perfect scores. Gametrailers said you couldnt interact with a puddle in the game and made it sound like a negative thing. COME ON. HAHA.

What a fail, I'm only buying games that score 8.8 or higher this gen. That 0.1 makes ALLL the difference, as any true hardcore gamer will tell you. And don't get me started on how superior games that score 8.9 are!

Pretty much what I expected. 8.5-9. It'll never receive a 10 due to it being Infamous. I never understood the grief that reviewers gave the series. They would praise it, and then at the end, an 8.5. I guess you have to shovel out the hype and marketing money in order to crack that 9.0 ceiling.

What really baffles me is the crap they are giving it over it's story. At least it has a story...unlike another title released here recently.

The reviewer even said in the review that they're holding infamous to a higher standard and judging it accordingly. That's stupid. There is only one standard, if every game was judged based on different standards then a general scoring system would not work. For example, Infamous and Titanfall should NOT be getting the same score if Infamous is superior, but is judged with "higher standards". And before fanboys get offended, that was just an example.

Playing it now and not happy the game has an unlocked frame rate grrrrhhhhhh what is it with Sony and not capping frame rates drives me mad!

I dont understand why infamous out of all games is "held to a higher standard"... Why can cod slap a few new guns and rehashed maps togethor and call it a sequel, while still getting good scores? Why did titanfall get a 8.9 even though its missing a single player experience, is severly lacking in content, and has a horribly forgettable online story? I dont get it. Curious to see what angryjoe rates infamous, as he seems to be one of few non biased reviewers out there. He gave titanfall a 7/10.

Sony has so many great dominant IP's that they can bring back, such as Infamous, Socom, Ape Escape, Jak & Daxter, Siren, Sly Cooper, Killzone, Twisted Metal, Little Big Planet, Gravity Rushy, Motorstorm, Wild Arms, Resistance, Wipeout, Alundra, Colony Wars, Cool Boarders, Knack, Syphon Filter, Dark Cloud, Omega Boost, The Legend of Dragoon, G-Police, The Getaway and so on. Many of these games is what defines Playstation and sets them apart in previous generations.

I rather they focus on that, instead of Live Service games that's been so heavily invested now days.

They could also work with third parties developers to bring these franchises back like Parasite Eve, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, Dino Crisis, Ridge Racer, SSX, Tenchu, Jade Cocoon, Xenogears, Lunar Silver Star, Nightmare Creatures, Vagrant Story, Shadow Hearts, Driver, Breath of Fire, Tomba, Legend of Legaia, Okami..etc

I'm more of a new IP dude but infamous is one of the few series I want more of. Second son 2 where you play as delsin, fetch, and the video game guy (eugene I think?), Infamous 3 where cole comes back and maybe teams up with delsin against a new threat, A new game where maybe you pllay as another new protag who has to fight against an evil deslin who got messed up from absorbing too many powers and became some unstable super powered dude similar to the beast in infamous 2. Or just a whole new plot, characters and city. Series has a lot of potential

Problem with infamous is the morality system played into the endings in all the games so even though the player gets a choice for good of bad ending a sequel typically has to chose one of those endings to make cannon which may not align with players.

However I would love another one of these games they were all amazing

God I hope so. I’d be down with a new character, maybe in somewhere not in the US, like put it in London, Prague, Venice, somewhere iconic.
