ID@Xbox finally shows Xbox One's indie credentials

Mike Mika is hopping gleefully from one foot to the other, beckoning me over to his corner of the room. There are eight Xbox One controllers on a table in front of his couch. On the screen in front of us, his new game, It Draws a Red Box.

"..is a Kinect platform game in which players position themselves to reveal a second layer of reality on screen."

This is exactly why the Kinect should come packaged with every Xbox One. It ensures that the game can be bought and played without worrying about the need of an optional peripheral needed.

Good to see a lot of indies coming to the Xbox One platform. Lets hope that some of the XNA titles or devs switch over to Xbox One too.

Good information man. We need more articles like this to be approved. More about gaming and less flame bait. Excited to see more about the game.

Honestly I was shocked MS did not see indies early as an incredible source for Kinect games. Indies are great at making something small into something big. Makes more sense for relatively small budget games to use kinect than it does for a huge dev to shoehorn some small functionality in. Glad it is happening though.

I feel the same way. There were a few here and there but no where near the amount that should have been.

Hopefully with the Kinect 2 and the device in every box, independent developers will have way more incentive to make Kinect or Kinect hybrid games for the Xbox One.

Indie devs have the potential to create really good Kinect game.

Xbox One is the future. The future is... Xbox One??

I do wonder though what would happen if Sony had the exact same crappy parity and release clause as Xbox. Industry meltdown I'm guessin

Hmm indies on Xbone their not bad actually some them were really good honestly, but the kinect as an mandatory item not option is still with me until they show more potential with it.

FRU looks unique. I can honestly say I've never seen a game like it before.

It looks really fun (a must buy for me) and wouldn't be possible without kinect.

That doesn't justify the extra 100 in cost by including kinect, but it sure as hell shows that the technology can add to the gaming experience.

I really want to see what Behemoth and the Limbo developer Playdead come up with, there on XB1 Indie program

Could Anthem live on? Tech allowing local server hosting existed, former executive producer says

BioWare's multiplayer shooter Anthem was terminated this week because EA no longer wanted to maintain servers for people to play the game on, and without them, no one can play the game. But the former executive producer of Anthem has revealed that BioWare had technology working, close to the game's release, that would enable us to host our own servers to play the game on.

EA/Bioware should allow us to host our own servers to let this game live on.

I'd be fine just playing it as a localhost and dumb as rocks AI bots. Just give me the choice.
