If it wasn't for Microsoft, it's possible PC gaming wouldn't exist: Just about every PC gamer relies on Windows -- the majority of PC games aren't available on alternative operating systems like OSX or Linux.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

This is because AMD and Nvidia had threatened to reduce the relevance of Direct X by releasing their own API with low level support.
The GDC AMD/Microsoft panel will expain how DirectX 12 can incorporate low level APIs. Lets hope that DirectX 12 will not require a brand new GPU as the new R9 and R7 models aren't old at all and Nvidia has brand new GPUs of its own. DirectX must be backwards compatible or else there will be an uproar.
