Wait. EA knew Titanfall was an Xbox launch window game right? And they also were aware a PS4 was coming out and that PS3 was already in homes, had been for years and had a huge install base correct? So why would they act all :( now? I'm not saying this story isn't true, I'm just saying it doesn't make sense for EA to not realize cutting out the PS4, and especially the PS3, would cause a huge loss in sales.

Titanfall's a good game on Xbox One. However, TF could be on PS4 this year or early 2015, but it may be called Titan_____something else, since they can't use the full 'Titanfall' name due to EA/MS' (alleged $50 million) deal.

If it doesn't, at least we can be certain a TF sequel will.

Unless M$ pay serious big money EA will move this multi platform. Its a business after all.

As much as I like the inFamous series and going to buy the third one on PS4, outside of Sony dominated forum, yous hardly hear anyone talk about that game, unlike other big Sony IPs like TLOU, Uncharted or GOW.

bought my xb1 for titanfall bought my ps4 for second son , but i loved the first infamous game , doesn't seem like a game that would sell systems , but you never know .

What I take from this is, EA will want to see how Infamous Second Son sales. If it competes with Titanfall.
If it does and if what the article said is correct, you can practically guarantee that all future releases of Titanfall will be multiplatform.
EA is not in the business of losing money.
Unless, MS gives them money proportionate to what they would truly lose if they don't go multiplatform, especially since now they have the Sony metrics.

Its a matter of when does it become cost effective to buy exclusivity vs. letting it ride multiplatform.

The sames of both hardware and software will dictate the outcome of this.

If you think about it.. maybe this deal between EA and Microsoft was brokered when the XBone was still in it's original form.. (all that DRM).

This way, EA gets a game (digital only, no physical copies) on a system, where at the end of the day (due to DRM) they control the product, who you can play with, whether or not you can sell it and so on..

Microsoft gets out the deal, a potentially system selling game on a DRM riddled gaming console.. which was (which they found out rather quickly) a hard sell to the gaming public.

Respawn, despite being made up of industry veterans, go along with the deal (trust me, they always knew Titanfall was going to be XB/PC only) after, all, first game from the new company and it's guaranteed money, both from EA and Microsoft.

As for the actual topic.. I don't believe EA gives a rat's ass whether Titanfall is on the PS3/PS4 - they already made the deal to exclude 86mil potential customers, probably over a year ago.. Will be interesting to see if shareholders of EA have the same opinion though.

I hope Infamous sells well. Sucker Punch do good work and deserve a hit. Being early in the life cycle on PS4 and basically the only big AAA on horizon I think that will bode well for the game.

Who cares about Titanfall, I'd rather have Infamous. I played Titanfall on my friends PC last night and wasn't impressed. The game was fun for the first hour but the maps seemed the same and with only it being 6v6 there was a lot of pausing between battles trying to search for more players. Can't wait for next week though!

The part about EA being sorry sounds stupid. there are only 2 mil more Global owners of a PS4 than XB1 (based on latest PS4 numbers and month old XB1 numbers). Out of those 2 mil, how many want the game? Then out of those...how many don't own a computer or XB1 (forget 360)? I guarantee that whatever MS paid for the exclusive rights is well worth it. Not to mention all the future owners of XB1 will also grab this game.

More to the point, if you go to respawns website right now...it's still up, there is an article that says they went to Sony and MS with this idea for a game, Sony had a chance and couldn't make the game work because they didn't have a large enough dedicated server/cloud compute system in place. MS did (go ahead and downvote me all you want, it's true, go see for yourself). So in that regard, Sony should be apologizing to Respawn/EA, not the other way around. MS on the other hand enabled Respawn to actually make the game. I'm not saying the "the cloud is some magic sauce", but it IS a real thing, and Sony doesn't have it...so they don't have Titanfall...at least not until they catch up in this area...again...read it for yourself on the Respawn website, instead of taking the words of bitter posters here. Past THAT...Titanfall has now solidified itself as a strong new IP that IS helping sell XB1's (at least 1 mil more as of 3 days ago IF rumors are correct). Which means that the relationship between MS and EA/Respawn is now golden...MS will cater to their every need now, which is something Sony has snubbed their nose at them with for at least a year now....again...it's not EA that needs to apologize here. IF someone at EA said "sorry", it was probably just about being polite...cause in every other aspect it just sounds wrong.

I don't even think some of those who want this game on PS, even want to play it - they essentially just want the name/brand to not be exclusively tied to MS.

nice rumour however i thought ps4 owners didnt want cod with mechs why are there so many comments on they should have brought it to ps4 to do more? is this the first time in history a 3rd party made a game exclusive to one console? and for examples of why i prefer multiplayer games on xbox vs ps3? cod xbox live match making easier and quicker than on psn, soul calibur 4 and 5 matchmaking quicker, live has never been down for a month, i have never personally had issues with live unless my isp was acting a fool; same cant be said for psn.

I bought a xbox one for titan fall and the game is great. It gives me the same next gen feeling as when I first played Mario on NES Altered Beast on Genesis, Twisted Metal on PS one, GOW on PS2, Halo on Xbox. Call of Duty 2 on Xbox 360, GOW 3 on PS3, It is the first real game of this NEXT generation. I have Ghosts and Knact and Injustice and Killzone on my PS4 and god knows this game kills them. Titanfall deserves respect. Its fresh as the Dreamcast was. I am not buying Infamous until a few price drops.

Titanfall is the best FPS game on the market where as Infamous will be a good open world game, I am not sure if its going to be better then GTA5 (most likely not) People need to stop comparing different genres for different people. Mario outsells everything because its a G rated game and a Platformer. Titanfall is 15+ and a FPS game and Infamous is most likely 15+ and an open world game.
