Hope they find new manufacturers pretty soon.

lashes2ashes4445d ago

They are just stopping sales of the first gen dev kit. I assume developers can just get the new version instead.

Clover9044445d ago

What are you talking about? Look for a newer dev kit coming soon.

papashango4445d ago

Occulus Rift started producing kits with higher resolution screens and better hardware.

They stopped sales of the first generation older tech models. Writer doesn't have any clue what's going on here.

Reading the title I was afraid that they were going to need to do a phase two kickstarter that so many companies seem to do these days.

Stupid clickbait title.

alextdarling4445d ago

did you not hear? their suppliers have stopped making some of the crucial parts

lemoncake4445d ago (Edited 4445d ago )

Onto the next gen of dev kits, the title of this article is terrible.

RebelWAC4445d ago

Horrible indeed. I mean people complain about "legitemate" sites publishing articles with misleading titles to lure hits, then we got these characters using the exact same formula AND on top of that having the audacity to tell people to read the article before commenting whenever they receive backlash....I just laugh.

Visiblemarc4445d ago

Yeah, it's such a huge problem lately. The worst part is that click-bait is extending beyond desperate websites into more "legitimate" ones and now influencing what is now classified as "news." As a consequence, the focus of gamers and the industry as a whole is getting trashy, confusing and wasteful.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook71096d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt1096d ago (Edited 1096d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal1096d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow1096d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal1096d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt1096d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
