It won't kill Call of Duty but it's going to force Activision to step up their game. It takes the addictive gun play of COD and turns it on it's head with the parkour mechanics and throws in Titans for good measure.. simply put it's the evolution of what they started with Call of Duty 4. If activision think they can keep adding a fresh coat of paint after TF, they'll be in for a rude awakening.

Admittedly, I'm not really a fan of FPS, although I'll try one now and again, but a lot of my Male friends are buying Titanfall on 360 or PC.

If Zampella decides to release the sequels in March like Titanfall is, the series will never compete with CoD for sales and crown because they wont overlap. It will be good for fans of the FPS genre because now they will have two games to play at half a year intervals. Instead of being forced to play CoD year round because there were no better alternatives. But it all depends on TF's replay value. If its replay is similiar to like the halo, and bf series then no it wont take anything away from cod.

In reality, no it won't in my opinion. If it had released on all the formats CoD is available on then it might make a dent in CoD's sales but CoD is a juggernaut and even established brands like Battlefield and Medal of Honour have not supplanted it so a brand new franchise was always going to struggle against it.

In the alternate reality of Microsoft's PR machine where XBOX fanboys skip hand in hand with the gaming press that take Microsoft's coin then yes of course Titanfall is the second coming, it will end world hunger, bring peace to the planet and will launch with a free puppy or kitten.

Over the last month N4G has been a glowing example of how a good PR machine can elevate the status of a game like Titanfall. Its good, I liked the PC beta but in my opinion its certainly not great and I can't see it stealing time away from Battlefield or Call of Duty for me.

CoD it is a military FPS and offline story mode, Titanfall sci-fi FPS and the only a online mode.
They represent two different styles.

Titanfall a new and successful FPS will be a game, but not destroy it CoD series.

When they start releasing it in the same launch window on all formats then yes it will.

Hard to say. Like everyone is pointing to it being on only 2 platforms will not let it compete with the sales of cod but what about gameplay and content? It might be able to beat it there. I'm calling it now it will be the highest rated xbox one game. Not saying much since games are limited but reviews help pick up momentum.

I don't get it actually, I understand competitiveness, but all these MP FPS games are just the same thing over a over again. TF has no real campaign and therefore no online co-op. At least COD has a campaign. Believe it or not people do play the COD campaigns and even buy the game to play the campaign. TF sales will not reflect SP purchases.

you cant kill cod coz its already dead.... i loved cod and i still play it love it but they have nothing new to offer from time to time i fill like they are just releasing map pack instead of a new fresh idea and there i have started to fill like a cow that they are milking me to the death... on the other hand titanfall it haves new and fresh ideas and fast paste combat just like i like it

Probably not, at the moment no matter how 'bad' a CoD game is, it's bound to run smoothly and be fun to play as always. Where Titanfall fails here, is it's inconsistent fun, the over abundance of titans and bots on a map which will put off those wanting fast paced killing people, not bots and spending 30 rockets to down a titan. That's why CoD is successful in the first place, look at BF4, still riddled with bugs and unplayable at times.

It will def be a good game to challenge COD thrown and why is that? Being exclusive means that the developer hasn't had to split time between multiple platforms they have one platform to make sure the game runs good on.

You can keep Titanfall , COD has proven itself as the dominate shooter and that isn't going to change. COD Ghost on the PS4 was the definitive version anyway and that's something Xbone owners will never get. Titanfall on PS4 would have blown away the Xbone version but EA decided to go the epic fail route.

I think It will finish off COD as far as xbox and PC players are concerned. At this point in time I have no doubt in my mind about that.

I knew it from the first time I played it last year. and during the beta some of my friends got to experience the game I have been yapping on about for some time now, during our mp shenanigans on other games.... Now they are the ones who wont shut up about it, while we play the waiting game (in other words we play COD,BF and forza to pass the time..while talking far too much about titanfall)

People have lost interest in COD anyways, so titanfalls arrival is right on time. It WILL be more popular, on XB1 and PC. It has just the right mix of speed, intensity of combat and skill based gameplay. It REALLY hits the mark and playing it is enough to prove it to anybody. Trust me, you wont be able to go back to COD, afterwards.

No. It's going to be a great game though. Destiny is multi-plat and the pre-orders are insanely high. THAT is the big one. Call of Duty will never be a great as it was when the former Infinity Ward was around. As far as I'm concerned, Activision is the Call of Duty killer. Shame they'll see money from Destiny, too.

Every year a new game comes around, and people ask the same question: "Will it kill COD". It never happen though.

It won't out sell cod. On a side note, its going to interesting to see how it sells compared to halo 5.

It WAS probably the best contender for the crown, but exclusivity killed that chance. Now it has as much hate as love and million gamers have already told themselves that the game is nothing special and found every excuse not to like the game.

It may be fanboyish and an exercise in self-deception but it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy nonetheless.

I wish something would, COD is so popular that it's creeping into other games. Depressingly sci fi shooters do not have the same mass appeal as something that is "closer to reality", so you won't have everyone and their 5 year old sister playing Titanfall.

Going to be interesting when a true next gen COD is unveiled and then releases later this year.

For me it was COD: United Offensive expansion. Man that game was so much fun my favorite mode was base assault. It's still being played today 😁

COD3 in the top five I can get behind. Best MP of the series. It was well balanced and had some of the best vehicles in the series and maps.

imo: COD/MW/BO/WAW have got worse with every release, more broken on release, and even more broken with every patch... Vanguard is a classic example of this... series broken even more due to its intergration / connection to warzone, the two should have never been linked together and kept separate...
