You gotta immere yourself in the games you play. Lately i've been playing more and more games but i don't get attached like i used to just feels like a chore plowing through my backlog now.

Anyway once you feel the attachment to the games you play consider yourself hardcore.

You're not hardcore unless you live hardcore.

There is no one definition in what a "hardcore" gamer is and I don't like the term anyway.

I don't think you can generalize "hardcore" gamer. In my opinion, you narrow it down to your certain game or games. That's where your true hardcore gaming lies.

I'm a gamer.
A gamer is a person who plays games every day. Games on any platforms to pla the games they want.
I own a Wii U, 3DS, Vita, PS3 and X360. So I get to play all the games I am into with 90% being Japanese publishers games.

It like a self-employed job.

If you just play for a few days a month you're not a gamer. It like substitute teacher they aren't fully employed teachers.

If you constantly refuse to buy a system that has your favorite game or franchise. Then you aren't gamer. A true gamer will support anything of choice when it comes to their preferences.

I have 118 platinum trophies including Max Payne 3 (for anyone that doesn't knoe for the MP3 plat you need to finish the game in one sitting, without dying once and there's a somewhat strict time limit)

All I know is that a hardcore gamer is not him who is playing a game watching hours of cinematics, a hardcore gamers has to own his controller while he is playing a game, thats all!!

To me a hardcore gamer is a gamer who is willing to try out games and play different genres of games. Not slate them for being easy or for being aimed at "casuals".

To me, a hardcore gamer is one who embraces many different forms of gaming on many different platforms. I own a Wii U, PS4, 3DS and PS Vita. I try to maximize my gaming experiences and try to sample as much as I can.

Doesn't matter what gaming system I am playing on, I am simply playing for the joys and thrills that video games offer me.

A hardcore gamer does not care about graphics, a machine's power, or blood and guts and boobs, in other words something that 85% of the other SO CALLED hard core gamers think that that is all there is to hard core games, if you think Donkey Kong country tropical freeze and wonderful 101 are hard core games then you are a hard core gamer, if you think these games are for 5 year old kids and that GTAV and Call of duty are hard core games, then You are a Blood and guts gamer, not hardcore, Know the difference.
