Halo will make its PS5 debut with a massively modernised remake of the original Xbox game, Combat Evolved.
That’s according to the Halo Leaks account on X (or Twitter), which has accurately outed information about the franchise in the past.

it will be running on unreal engine 5, so it will look good. The question is will it run as good as it looks
I think they teased it a few months back when they announced Halo studios. It does look quite incredible graphically but as Hennessy says above, how it runs is gonna be a different story given UE5 track record.
it would probably be like the gears of war reloaded. Which was a remake of the remaster of the original.

It's being shown at the Halo World Championships which they had already announced a few weeks ago.
Better reboot than another re-touch (remake after an already remaster) .... but 343/Halo is incompetent now, so .... guess this is best they can do with help of Coalition

The original Xbox was my first console (actually 64 but barely played) and the first game was halo. Me and my brother use to play coop almost everyday.
We eventually traded in for a PS2 because of kingdom hearts lol
I played the first 2 Halo games. That's Bungie's Halo.. I do not know whether 343's Halo is as good as Bungie's.
Either ways Halo is one of Microsoft's big franchises. So many rumours so it's becoming more likely it'll come to PS5
Halo 3 is Bungie's game... so is Reach and ODST. 4, 5 & 6 (Infinite) are 343's. They aren't bad... just different. The original trilogy story ended and should have finished there. But MS wanted to 'Star Wars' this franchise and came up with new stories that sort of just sit there.

This looks like cursed halo at its finest, love it. They need to bring mods to consoles.

Not to mention Smash Bros. And how does Chief win ranged combat when he relies on a battlefield where he has to pick up guns of dead soldiers? If it's just them, 1v1, he'll just run out of ammo while Samus literally has infinite ammo, 3 types of missiles, AND can lock-on. Technically she can never miss, unless the target is really fast.

Samus hands down. The master chief has never fought Ridley or Mother Brain. One hyper blast and the chief would be toast. :) no offense to Halo fans.
Samus wins by default. Master chief had to poop and it took him 45 minutes to get his armor off before he could sit on the can.
Note: This is coming from a guy whose favorite video game series is Halo.
Does Chief have 100+ missiles that can lock on to targets? Ability to morph into a ball for evasive maneuvers? Infinite bombs in morph ball mode? Infinite ammo for an arm cannon? Multiple beam types such as power, plasma, ice, wave, dark, light, nova, annihilator, hyper? Ability to charge the beam for a more powerful blast? Ability to use Hyper Mode to increase offensive capability by orders of magnitude? A grapple beam for enhanced movement? A visor capable of scanning enemies for weaknesses, another to see using X-rays, infrared? 10 layers of shielding (energy tanks)? A morph ball power bomb that can vaporize the surrounding area instantly? Nope. And the last, most important thing that Chief doesn't have? Boobs.
Samus wins, no contest.
(There's still a crapload of more abilities that Samus has at her disposal, but I'm tired of typing LOL.)
Edit: About the only thing Chief has going for him is energy shields that auto-recharge. Samus has to kill things to recharge hers.
