Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ) has no plans to give up the console battle, and the company seems to be doing great. Sony's (NYSE: SNE) latest news reports peg PlayStation 4 sales at 5.3 million, well ahead of Microsoft's Xbox One. Sony's sleek console has been ahead of Xbox sales in nearly every market, and the latest robust sale numbers have had many claiming the Xbox One is a total failure and a dangerous investment for Microsoft. Some have even suggested Microsoft hand the whole gaming segment over to someone else as part of Nadella's new leadership package.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.

Dear team,
Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
Hopefully these fools can stop thinking MS is selling the XBox business now.
You know who you are. Smh
This article is right in pointing out that the those who follow the game industry often think in binary terms... To a fault. Doesn't seem to happen in any other industry.
No one says that because mcdonalds sells FAR more burgers than BK, that BK is a loser and should quit. Coke sells more soda than Pepsi, but no one says Pepsi should bow out. What we miss out on is the health if the Ecosystem. Nintendo sold the most consoles last gen, but each of the big three had plenty to be happy about. Do companies want to be the sales leader? of course they do! But position in the 'race' is not the only way to determine success... It's not even the best way.
The Xbox one has thus far been meeting it's sales projections, has a strong software attach rate, has a large number of subscriber to its xbox services, AND the xbox is bolstering some of MS' other products and services (bing, azure, one drive, Skype, windows phone).
To suggest MS is performing poorly, is to miss the big picture.
Yeah MS are smart and they have a plan
I bet this years and next years releases will sell the system well
"The PS4 has sold more units, primarily because it's priced $100 less, released in more markets, and fueled by a more rabid fan base." cheeky... but funny.
