Rely on Horror: Creative lead of DayZ, Dean Hall has released a video developer's blog of some upcoming features set to come to the game in the future. For starters, lighting is being adjusted so flashlights and other light sources can be used during the day. Secondly, we’re given an extended look at a near-complete physics system; physics will eventually allow for players to throw items to friends or even hurt enemies. For the developers, the physics system will allow for better animations and ragdoll on player bodies.

Bodge4459d ago

You'll be waiting about 3 years.

k3rn3ll4459d ago

At least... they aren't gonna try to port until the game is close to done. Which will awhile

Shakengandulf4459d ago (Edited 4459d ago )

Well if it takes three years.. It takes three years. Its hardly my most anticipated game andI have a pc, if i wanted it that badly... I would have bought it.

sounds great. I didn't know this game was still progressing, I guess the console version is far off.

annus4459d ago

The game is still in alpha, it has a long, long way to go feature wise.

I just can't wait until a crow bar to the head will kill a zombie. I mean, 5 or 6 smashes to the face is a bit much, they are only human zombies, not super human. Also, you need to be able to fall more than 5 feet without breaking your legs. HA! Still fun, and in alpha. I'm looking forward to this game improving, I think it's going to be great when finished.

Valve isn't criticized for any of the garbage moves they make as the user base will just dismiss everything... almost like MAGA. Child gambling is only one of many Valve issues. VAC is a joke it is stupid easy to hack steam, Steam is absolutely invested with bot accounts, Quality assurance is no were to be seen as scam games have flooded the store along with p*rn games, Untold amount of older games don't even launch properly through steam and steam communities have to be the ones to help troubleshoot them rather than Valve forcing the game companies to fix them. In addition to that Valve "bent the knee" to big companies that sell Triple AAA titles so they would start releasing games back on steam so they actually make more of a percentage than indie developers. Their trading card achievement system is predatory. Valve invest as little money as possible to combat any of those issues. The store has been on auto pilot for the last 15 years and again they are fully aware that they are getting children addicted to gambling. One of the many reasons they don't go public. I stopped using them ages ago.

thorstein196d ago

They also bent the knee to Trump and Mastercard and delisted games, some of which didn't fit their new rules.

I'm still not going to use Epic Game Store, Tim.

"One of the many reasons they don't go public."

Steam makes Valve far too much money consistently to have any reason to go public. As of this year, they’ve generated over ten billion dollars in revenue, Valve has just under 350 employees. In their situation remaining private is far more beneficial as they're not beholden to shareholders to self-sabotage.

Also, Gabe’s son, Gray, has been under his father’s guidance for some time to eventually take over once Gabe steps down. Gabe intends for Valve and Steam to remain under majority Newell family ownership, especially given his negative views toward publicly traded companies, including the one he previously worked for which was a major motivation for founding Valve and its unique work culture.

DayZ Frostline DLC Gets Review Bombed; Dev Says “No One is Forcing Players to Buy It”

DayZ Frostline DLC gets review-bombed for its price and content. Dev responds, saying "No one is forcing players to buy it."

diana45peters529d ago

Yes, I saw that! The DayZ Frostline DLC has indeed faced a lot of backlash from players who feel that the $26.99 price tag is too high for what's included. The DLC adds a new snow-covered map called Sakhal, but many players feel it doesn't offer enough new content to justify the cost.

Bohemia Interactive's CEO, Marek Spanel, responded to the criticism by pointing out that the studio has received very little revenue per hour of gameplay from the game over the years. He even referenced the Beatles song "Please Please Me" in his response, highlighting the frustration with the situation.

It's definitely a heated debate.
