Introducing a Truly Next-Gen Twitch Experience on Xbox One

Xbox Wire:

The best broadcasting and spectating experience on any game console is on its way when the new Twitch app launches on Xbox One on March 11. Twitch, the world’s largest video platform and community for gamers with 45 million visitors per month, and Xbox One, the only all-in-one games and entertainment system, are joining forces to bring the broadcasting and spectating experience into the new generation. Both Twitch and Xbox One are seeing blazing growth, with Twitch’s traffic skyrocketing, as the #4 peak US internet traffic destination and Xbox One off to the fastest launch in Xbox history.

Finally.

Hoping to see how these extra features work out.

DeathOfTheFanBoy4476d ago

Looks pretty cool, don't think I'm the type to use it, but sure will watch what Major Nelson etc are up to for giggles!

tbone5674476d ago

Looks incredible. I like how you can join games at any time. See all twitch broadcast even those on PC.

4Sh0w4476d ago

Yeah this isn't a subtle update, that is a huge improvement.

Blaze9294476d ago

The joining a game at anytime is pretty big to be honest. That's great to be able to jump into a streamer's game to help them out, troll em, or simply just be in the stream.

This feature feels like as big as when they introduce Xbox LIVE Party Chat. I can definitely see the Xbox LIVE community embarrassing this heavy. I mean, look at Uplod Studio already.

AngelicIceDiamond4476d ago

Finally indeed.

I think the reason it took so long is one MS wanted to get everything out that was requested back in December out in March and obviously before Titanfall.

The second reason MS does very specific tailors to apps for its console. Which either makes the app even simpler to use on console or add in some other functionality of sorts.

They did this with 360 as well.

2 weeks its damn far man...

lolCHILLbro4476d ago (Edited 4476d ago )

Wow awesome, seems better than PS4's twitch app, i guess you get what you pay for,
this + TITANFALL + XBL UPDATE = win
cant wait to drop a Titan live while experiencing the new features of XBOX LIVE on
XBOX ONE!

Well we have to see how it works. With the PS4 it is super-easy. Press share button, choose Twitch and start broadcast.

The chat log is much better on the X1 version from the looks of it compared to the two lines of dialogue on PS4.

I'll wait and see how smoothly it all runs.

Blaze9294476d ago

"Well we have to see how it works."

...did you not watch the video?

Antwan3k4476d ago (Edited 4476d ago )

@Septic -"Well we have to see how it works. With the PS4 it is super-easy. Press share button, choose Twitch and start broadcast."

Fair statement.. But if this works as advertised, simply saying "Xbox, Broadcast" would seem to be even super-easier..

Gazondaily4476d ago

Yeah I'm proper excited. The voice functionality on Kinect is brilliant so I'm confident it will work well.

GamingNerd0134476d ago

U really had to waste ur bubble on such a lame fanboy comment don't u. 2 things Nicaragua is complete right about u funny sh.t lol 2nd I laughed even more when u said u get what u pay 4 so ur telling me u get what u pay 4 with a overpriced console that is weaker then PS4 can't do 1080P without some sort of a downgrade it needs to be stable online is complete rip off with features like Netflix Hulu plus and many more r lock behind paywall u don't get free good games every month like u do on PS4 u save tons of money on dlc movies games avatars and much more on ps plus faster UI faster downloads better games looking and run more smoothly on PS4 u can change Ur HDD if u want more space that u can't on X1 so yeah u get what u pay 4 with PS4 but not X1 and don't tell me it has kenect it's crap and hardly anybody uses it except people that aren't gamers.

andrewsqual4476d ago

Lol there is a Twitch app on Playstation? Huh guess the biggest Xbot ever knows something about my console I don't.

kopicha4476d ago

Not so sure how much of this I'll ever use but who knows? Maybe I'll have a little fun with it the first few weeks and then forget all about it. It's great news for those of you who are really into this sort of thing though.

Escape from Tarkov: Everything you need to know about the hottest game on Twitch

It took a little over three years but Escape from Tarkov (EFT) has risen to the top of Twitch charts in-part due to a drop campaign that began at the start of the week. Created by Russian-based developer, BattleState Games, back in 2016, EFT has surpassed evergreen titles/categories such as League of Legends, Fortnite, Just Chatting, and CSGO to hold down the top viewership spot on the streaming platform. Top personalities such as Dr.Disrespect, Timthetatman, CohhCarnage, and others have flocked to the game to get a piece of the action and try out something new while "veteran" EFT players, Shroud and Dr.Lupo, have been playing since the early days.

Seeing what Google Stadia offers, and what they are planning with their release, it won't be immediate. But they will take over this space (even though I couldn't care about it).

gtxgamer22585d ago

I doubt it, the way youtube treats their content creators I don't see this happening anytime soon

Double_O_Revan2585d ago

Exactly. The gaming section of YouTube has been one of the hardest areas hit during the past few years in terms of monetization. Plus copyright claims are a problem with certain companies and certain games.

AK912584d ago

Twitch is not better they ban users for the tiniest things, yet allow people they are friends with to stream regardless of consequences.

Knightofelemia2585d ago (Edited 2585d ago )

I doubt it will kill Twitch Youtube is like a copyright nazi when it comes to games. If one of your videos gets a copyright claim it's either banned in certain countries or it won't be allowed world wide.

Veneno2585d ago

That's kind of the point if you infringe on the work of other people.

BlackOni2585d ago

Their view of "infringement" is very different than other platforms.

Creating content based on a game for example, is considered in most circles derivative content, not stealing.

Veneno2585d ago

It all depends on the situation.

Knightofelemia2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

@Veneno

Streaming a game on Youtube just to have a copyright claim on it because of the in game music is stupid. I use to stream to Youtube I played Spiderman got copyright claims because of in game music so I stopped and stuck with Twitch. If you play GTA with the radio on bang copyright claim on Youtube Twitch only mutes the game music from the radio if you have a VOD and pretty sure Mixer does the same as Twitch. Twitch will take down the music if a band like AC/DC files a copyright claim against that streamer using their music without permission.

slate912585d ago

Can't even play copyrighted music on your stream for Youtube. Twitch will mute small portions of your vods but you can still stream with it.
