Uwe Boll goes Postal

The Vancouver-based director has spurred an online hate campaign to stop him from making movies.

JoelR6579d ago

I just can't approve this ... not because it isn't news ... but because I can't stand giving this guy any more press!

Drekken6579d ago

This movie might be funny though, I got a kick out of the c0ckpit dialogue trailer!

I don't understand all the fuzz about Boll, if people don't like his movies they don't have to watch them. No need sign a petition, the more movies to choose from the better...

Heldrasil6578d ago

It's not just about his lack of quality films. You would be amazed at what you would find when researching this guy and how he gets funding. His films act a tax shelter for many "investors" in Germany, posibly other Euro countries. Even if the movies fail horrible, the investors still get their cash from the government....very shady business practices....

Evil Rant Monkey6578d ago

Well, I just finished downloading the movie. I don't feel so bad anymore.

I remember playing this game when it came out. Robbing the variety store for milk, shooting the guy behind the counter, then taking a wizz on him afterwords. I was 13 years old. And they think GTA IV is bad.

I'll leave a comment about this movie after i watch it tonight.

i personally dont want to stop him from making movies. I just want him to stop making video game movies and tryign to advertise them as blockbusters. i woud be fien with him making person independant films or straight to DVD stuff.

TomMcBaum6578d ago

This is just more manufactured controversy -- in other words, BS from a relentless self-promoter.

MANCREEP6578d ago

about Uwe Boll News. I personally love the guy. I admire his wit and the fact that he doesnt really care WTF anyone thinks about his movies. People talk trash about his "funding" and his "investors" getting rich of the their government. Um....I dont know if anyone noticed, but 99% of Hollywood directors, and producers do that exact same thing here. Do you think The Jews, who btw, control Hollywood, got all their money from Diamonds and Deli's? Yeah right. They know money, and they know how to work the system. Everyone who CAN, does it. Those who dont do it, CANT. If you dont like his movies, dont watch them---but please stop giving the N4G staff reason to post this kind of crap anymore.

Look if your looking for someone to rag on, hit the video comment.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
