FRONTBURNR: I first stumbled across Strider while taking a break from playing the arcade version of Ninja Gaiden in an arcade in Johnson City, Tennessee when I was about eight or nine years old. My aunt used to take me to the arcade and then to the movies sometimes on the weekends, so it was there that I got hooked on a whole lot of franchises I currently love now. Strider was no exception to the rule. Slashing, dashing, and jumping frantically, I remember Strider oozing with style but being one of the hardest arcade platformers I’d ever played as a kid. I remember getting the home version on NES and being extremely disappointed that it wasn’t quite as flashy as the arcade, but I was like 10 and had no idea about cartridge memory or hardware limitations. Fast forward years later and I revisited Strider on a CPS emulator running on my custom firmware running PSP and I was just as hooked as I was when I first laid eyes on the flashy cyber ninja.
In the past two years, Ninja games seem to have made a comeback. ININ, Sega, Dotemu, and others have all thrown their names into the arena. Thus far, the quality of each company’s aforementioned games has been high from what we’ve been shown. And in the case of ININ and Dotemu, can literally play their offering as of the writing of this article. Right now, no matter which retro revival ninja franchise you favor, you’re guaranteed a quality game.
You know who should get a remaster ( graphical recreation not remake, the gameplay is perfect) ? Goh the crow from Shinobido.
Shinobido is the metal gear solid of ninja games...
Some of us gamers still enjoy 2D games. The likes of UN Squadron, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Final Fight, Strider are all due sequels in 2D. Most of these games would probably run off the same engine. Go back to the 8 bit and 16 bit days and you could pull out a ton of 2D games due a sequel.

The Humble Capcom Heroic Collection Bundle just launched recently. It has ten items including Monster Hunter Rise, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, and more.
I took advantage of the $1 deal for lost planet 3, strider, bionic commando and mega man. 3 of them run great on my steam deck. bionic commando sadly does not.
ive left humble bundle long time ago the pricimng is now off as well as game collection. humble monthly used to be excellent but thasts also downhill

Grab your katana, and slice your way through this list featuring the best hack and slash games the PlayStation 3 had to offer.
Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.
heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.
I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
This game is so good.
Thinking about buying it, got $25 in MS$ that I need to burn
Came out of nowhere, hadn't heard anything about it until recently. Looks pretty cool though.
just bought it on PSN, so worth it.
