Bah i wish i had a time machine to see what games would be announced at e3, this one is going to be huge and more importantly focused on GAMING

Vojkan4471d ago

MS:"We have games for E3"
Every sane person "NO SH!T!"

Gazondaily4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

SOMEHOW, someone spun this into a negative. I mean...games are good....right? RIGHT?!

Titanfall DLC,Sunset Overdrive,Titanfall,Forza DLC , Titanfall... Kinect?

“We’ve made some exclusive announcements, including Project Spark, Kinect Sports Rivals and Sunset Overdrive,”

ROFL!!

DeadlyFire4470d ago

I expect PEGGLE 2 XBO Exclusive launch!, Call of Duty, and Battlefield. Alongside Halo, Gears, Fable, Froza, and so on. Sunset Overdrive, Spark, and whatever new IP that Microsoft can buy or pay off for a timed exclusive deal.

Alexious4471d ago

What was last year focused on, if not gaming?

But I agree that this is going to be huge and I would also love to have a time machine.

ic3fir34471d ago

Pré-E3 was focused on the console and TV, even at E3 was focused on games, the last E3 was greater on Xbox1, because it showed more interesting games than the rival.
Ps4 just won E3 because of the low price.

E3^^

CYCLEGAMER4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

@ic3fir3
This is EXACTLY what happened. In my eyes the xb1 won E3 2013 because I only cared about what games where going to be announced and MS focused purely on games, and that is what E3 is all about.

Sony showed a few games but mainly focused on policies, multiplates, and social features. The price was the icing on the cake for Sony.

This years E3 will be awesome because I think MS is going to want to top what they did last year with games, and Sony will want to do the same while showcasing their first party studios.

@disagrees Please explain how you think E3 happened any different from what I stated.Or are you just disgagreeing for the heck of it.

nope1114471d ago

Yeah, with the new consoles out i expect to see some impressive stuff at E32014.

Festano4471d ago

Will be a great war between Xboxone and Ps4

christocolus4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

@mikelarry

A time machine wouldnt be a bad idea. Exciting announcements from 1st and 3rd party devs. Im really excited for E3 2k14. Cant wait to see what wonders MS and Sony have in store for their fans. Hope we get some footage from halo5 ,QB,SO, Crackdown3, Shenmue3 and UC4.

Whatever these guys are planning im down and ready to be blown away..

-Foxtrot4471d ago

I wish I could be excited but the majority of their big games are going to be what was announced last year since they announced them way too early and they needed to win people back after the horrible reveal

Halo 5
Quantum Break
Sunset Overdrive
I would say Black Tusk but it apparently wasn't a game
So now a Gears 4 teaser

Mikelarry4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

Gears teaser i highly doubt that as Phil Spencer announced we will not see anything from that title for awhile

http://www.dualshockers.com...

Edit

I see what you mean, well e3 is just round the corner its going to be some interesting months before that date... ahhh its good to be a gamer

-Foxtrot4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

Yeah but I mean a teaser as in

<SCREEN FADES BLACK>

Gears of War 4

Near Future

<FADES OUT>

To get the point out that it's being made and to make it look like there E3 is full of games announcements when really the majority of them will be things we already know of. You have to think of the road leading up to E3 aswell, how many things get announced these days off third party devs.

CYCLEGAMER4471d ago

@foxtrot
This is normally how it goes, most of the games that are "annouced" at E3 don't come out until the following year or so. Others, we have known about from the previous E3, i.e. killzone 2 and 3, uncharted, Alan Wake, Bioshock etc. Most of the games that MS announced at e3 2013 are already out or will be here in a week or so. I.e. KI, DR3, Forza, Titanfall, Ryse, and Max

This e3 I suspect we will get actuall release dates for the games that were announced/teased at last years e3. Games like Quantum Break, Halo and Sunset Overdrive.

UnHoly_One4471d ago

I think it's too early to show anything from Gears 4, even just the title.

I think they will wait until they have something, ANYTHING, to show, first.

Chanogram4471d ago

MS's entire E3 in 2013 was focused on gaming. This will be more of the same.

Hopefully there are a few games that we dont know about yet. Those are what makes these presentations worth watching.

3-4-54470d ago

Finally, the first E3 in 3 years to focus Mainly on just games and no new consoles.

Garethvk4471d ago

This is key for them. You know Sony will have some stuff to say and Microsoft needs a good showing here to try to quell the momentum Sony has going.

MorePowerOfGreen4471d ago (Edited 4471d ago )

If I were Sony or a Sony fan I'd be more worried about Sony failing as a company and not the first few weeks of console sales.

Sony's momentum will naturally fizzle out once gamers start to see XB1 games moving into a direction other console can't follow.

Gravity_DoGG4471d ago

You are full of s'!i morepowerofgreen.

Playstation has always been better than xbox and you know it. One big troll you are..

And we all know. Nobody is going to believe in your piece of c..p comments :)

DoesUs4470d ago

"Sony's momentum will naturally fizzle out once gamers start to see XB1 games moving into a direction other console can't follow."

Personally i don't want Sony to follow MS all the way down to the bottom thank you very much.

Onwards and upwards in Sony land while MS scramble and self destruct with depsperate measures and price cuts after ONLY 3 MONTHS! OUCH.

saint_seya4470d ago (Edited 4470d ago )

Its fun reading that, last gen you were saying, who cares about exclusives, the important thing are the multiplats, and xbox got the better version of them, because you knew MS couldnt compete in the exclusives department, now you think #i must say it again to make it clear "YOU THINK"# MS has the exclusives, but no.. sry to burst your bubble.. Sony has many more studios, and more third party support, if you want to get more/higher rated exclusives, ps4 is the way to go, and if you want the better multiplats ps4 is the way to go. Oh maybe you want to buy the console less expensive? well ps4 is the way to go. AH right you want the most powerfull one, then ps4 is the way to go.
Hope you got the point #i know that you know this, but you will try to close your eyes and try to make up excuses..

quenomamen4470d ago

Yea its hard to follow mostly 720 - 900p games, what ever will Sony do.

kaiserfranz4471d ago

I hope so. Sony has a proven roster of first party, unlike Microsoft except for a couple studios. We'll see.

CharlesSwann4471d ago

The only exciting thing Microsoft could say at E3, "We give up."

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio23d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing23d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Xbox boss: Memory crisis could impact next-gen hardware pricing

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.

Eonjay25d ago

When does this end? Its killing everyone. Consoles and PC. And for what? AI? The benefits of AI are completely outweighed by the negatives. And the government should have never allowed one company to buy up all the RAM.

Lexreborn225d ago

This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.

This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.

I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet

Fishy Fingers25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

I mean.... what?

We're at a point that Samsung wont even provide their own phone department ram because they can sell it at higher prices to 3rd parties (AI). Its more profitable to sell the ram than make their own devices with it.

You think because R&D starts 5 years ago the 3rd party component manufacturers will honour that price? They'll sell it to whomever is paying the most today, not some gentlemens agreement they made years ago. AI farms will buy more volume at higher prices than any console manufacturer will. It'll be the same for Playstation.

Lexreborn225d ago

Contractual agreements are not the same as “gentlemen” agreements. If you think that they work with their distributors a month before production then their entire business model is trash. They work with companies like nvidia constantly for building the graphics cards they need. They work with companies that build motherboards years in advance. This is what proper business planning does.

They are not buying components on a whim like a consumer. So again, considering the ram isn’t a singular module and is integrated into the motherboard I highly doubt they wouldn’t have a final schematic that they are supposed to be building around.

If they are delaying production another 3 years then it’s obvious again this is an after though project and is just trying to be responsive to their bad execution they had the last 14 years.

It also isn’t far fetched to use their failure to produce first party titles the last 7 years including the highly anticipated games I mentioned all being cancelled. That they would continue to you know… lie

Sitdown25d ago

You don't really know how this works huh?

Profchaos25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Helix is going to be stupidly expensive

Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential

I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought

That's going to be ps6 vs Helix

Eonjay25d ago

Yeah with FSR 5 they should be able to offer a much cheaper version of Helix.

Eonjay25d ago

While this does seem to be the case, I am encouraged by the statement from Microsoft about wanting to provide affordable options. If this means a Series S style Helix, at least there will be something affordable being offered.

XBManiac24d ago

Series S is what has killed Xbox Series so... Will they dare?

blacktiger25d ago

It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs

pwnmaster300025d ago

Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

DarXyde25d ago

Another important lesson from this generation: while Nintendo showed us that prices don't necessarily need to ever drop, we've now learned that waiting 1-3 years does carry some risk that prices increase. This generation is just bizarre in all the wrong ways.

LucasRuinedChildhood25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

The factors are largely external. Covid and Russia-Ukraine war causing inflation led to the first price increase in 2022.

Then we get Trump's tariffs increasing hardware prices, AI boom causing a RAM crisis, war on Iran causing a worldwide fuel crisis which impacts the cost of everything.

Gaming doesn't exist in a vacuum. The last few years have been a shitshow and lot of it was definitely avoidable.

DarXyde24d ago

LucasRuinedChildhood,

For sure. No disagreement on the external factors doing a lot of this. Where I have to gently push back however is on two fronts:

1. The pandemic definitely caused some issues: asynchronous development was a big issue and really complicated timelines and affected game quality. At the same time, when it comes to price hikes, it's really difficult to know what was genuine necessity and what was taking consumers for a ride. The pandemic brought about "stag-flation" which was increasing prices and stagnant wages, which was a problem caused by supply chain constraints. There was also "Greed-flation", where companies that were slightly affected or had no issues took advantage of the situation and squeezed everyone citing supply chain issues when there were none.

2. It's definitely true that the tariffs, AI boom, and RAM crisis were all things enabled by tech broligarchs throwing money at this caricature of a world leader, one of them being Satya Nadella. I don't think Sony and Nintendo have contributed much to this problem if at all, but Microsoft's Nadella I feel was instrumental in causing every one of those issues. Microsoft as a company contributed to both candidates (though they gave Harris 4x as much if I recall), but Nadella was all in on letting AI run wild. He paid for unregulated AI, and got a war that's not a war (even though Trump called it that at least five times on television) that screwed up helium access. So for me, I feel that one of the players in the gaming industry is a key architect of these issues, and for that reason I struggle a bit to think of it as "external".

A good start would be to release games to go with the console. My Xbox Series X has gathered dust virtually from launch. My advice would be to ditch a next console and release games on PC, PlayStation and Switch. Another idea would be a hybrid console based on Xbox Series X tech and go the same route as Nintendo. Another idea would be to pull out of gaming altogether. Plenty of options there.

Reaper22_24d ago

Why would they pull out? They have the momentum. Sony has been getting nothing but bad news lately.
