Titanfall - Broken Promises?

In less than a month Respawn Entertainment and EA aim to deliver one of the most anticipated first person shooters of all time,Titanfall. Besides shiny new graphics and an intense multiplayer that will change the world as we know it, Respawn Entertainment have promised that things will be different since the founders of Infinity Ward left both the studio and Activision, but will they really?

No promises broken I don't remember any given apart from a tight fun game , origin has influenced my decision to get it for xb1 as I really don't like the service much.

darksky4466d ago

I don't have an XB1 but I may try this game out on the PC if there is a demo or something. Won't buy it without testing though since it doesn't even have a story mode.

urwifeminder4466d ago

Yeah I don't take notice of stories in games much so its a non issue for me , played the beta on pc it was fun so will be playing on xb1 day one.

@ darksky

Actually, it does have a story mode. The campaign story is told through two separate perspectives through the Campaign Multiplayer mode. The mode we experienced in the beta was called, "Classic Multiplayer."

The goal which Respawn has articulated several times is to create a game which transcends the traditional single player / multiplayer divide.

I don't know how that is getting disagrees.

"With the campaign multiplayer, you’ll play once through as the IMC and once through as the Militia. Because it’s a multiplayer game, it’s always moving. It’ll start out with these scripted sequences, and there’ll be way more dialog and characters and way more context for the world than you would otherwise get in the classic modes, but it’s not a single-player game. It is still a multiplayer game with story elements woven in."

Gaming "journalism". I fixed it for you.

lolCHILLbro4466d ago

They promised a good multiplayer game and i think they delivered!

denero14466d ago

at least 4 of your disagrees are from people that haven't even played it lol

MysticStrummer4466d ago

None of that stuff is Respawn's fault, except for the fact that they should have known what they were getting into with EA. I still wouldn't call these "broken promises" though.

Is it me...or is this guy trying really hard to create news?

Respawn specifically said not micro transactions. So that's that...right.....or should we just keep saying...uhj buubuu ...it's ea!!?

As for dlc....there will be dlc....it's a online shooter. What online shooter doesn't get dlc in this day and age??

I welcome dlc when priced right. For me it extends how long I'll play said game.

Totally depends on the DLC and what it adds, but yes every fps gets DLC at some point, hell a lot of single player games have some DLC

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1345d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1344d ago (Edited 1344d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
