Three words. Fast. Fluid. Revolutionary.

jmc88884473d ago (Edited 4473d ago )

Revolutionary? Not even close.

Fun...sure.

Except for the AI, you realize that mechs can't hover, and the 'vertical' maps are not vertical but about three stories high.

Parkour's like Mirror's edge, not wall running like superhero games.

The game uses the 10 year old source engine, aka the engine of Half-Life 2...which came out...BEFORE the Xbox 360 did.

If you want a better mech game, download Hawken for free on PC.

I cannot believe some people really think this game is revolutionary, unless English is their second language and they just don't understand what the word means, because Titanfall isn't the least bit revolutionary.

I'd really like someone to mention one thing in Titanfall that's revolutionary. Because I don't see a single grand new thing in it.

I wouldn't even call this evolutionary, let alone revolutionary.

Enjoy the game. But let's not get carried away and put fake labels next to it.

name one thing in the last of us that is revolutionary. I am not asking for revolutionary. I just want an amazing game.

The last of us was one of the best games of a generation even though it didn't bring anything new to the table. Instead, it pulled from a lot of different games bringing things that we had seen before together in a new way.

This is what titanfall does... nothing revolutionary but almost a perfect execution of what we have come to expect from games. I can't think of a recent game or even a recently announced game that I would consider revolutionary. Doesn't change the fact that this looks to be one of the best games we have ever seen

Germaximus4473d ago

Apparently you did not get the hang of wall running in Titanfall. It is incredible. =)

@ jmc8888

Did you even play the beta before coming to all of those negative conclusions? Because the way you're ranting, you just sound like a hater.

Akuma074473d ago

The game is not revolutionary.

The last game to be revolutionary was COD4:MW.

Titanfall will surely be a fun game, no doubts. But it will not change the FPS landscape as we know it.

Not everyone in the world wants over the top fast paced action in their FPS games.

I played the Titanfall BETA on PC, and came away feeling "meh". It felt like every single COD I have ever played.

More like Fast, Fluid, Fun. Don't really think its "revolutionary" by any means. If anything, it strips off the bs that Call of Duty has added in the past years and they end up with an awesome game. Can't wait for Titanfall to release

Pros:

* Smooth Gameplay

* Easy controls to learn

* Wall running and double jump climbing is fun and actually useful.

* Decent looking game

Cons:

* Get's old/boring quicker than other FPS games.

* In some ways feels new, but in others is feels like a Original xbox fps game. ( dated )

* 6v6 just isn't cutting it for these maps.
- Could easily be fixed by adding 8v8 or 10v10, but still keeping Titans within the match limited to 6v6. Not sure why they didn't do this.

* Maps are kind of lame and boring.

Akuma074473d ago

Limiting the number of titans would ruin the experience a little.

Having 20 titans on the map at once wouldn't spoil it at all. Next-gen consoles can handle it. The maps are just not designed for that.

Like jmc said it fun but not Revolutionary

Anyway it good and must buy for most fps fans

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1353d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1353d ago (Edited 1353d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

gurp753d ago

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
