Great feeling combat is essential for an action type RPG like Elder Scrolls. If only it had Dark Souls/Demon's Souls type physics... :)

Grave4390d ago

Whoa, could you imagine a Dark Souls MMO?

RedSoakedSponge4390d ago

that wouldnt really work in keeping with the dark souls feel of loneliness...

Who knows, maybe some day they'll make it!

Eldyraen4390d ago

Yes--it would tank as rage quitters would ruin every fight requiring a party and the small audience that would love the challenge couldn't support such a huge endeavor.

There are a few good MMOARPGs (ESO is more MMOARPG than tradition MMORPGs--in other words people that compare it to FFXIV would be better off comparing it to DCU) but none have really had the same success of traditional MMOs and nearly all have gone f2p within 6 months to 1 year.

ESO however is probably more traditional than most MMOARPGs but may not be enough to cater to MMO traditionalists and too much so for diehard ES fans. It is sort of niche but think it will do well enough but likely not as well as they would hope. F2P seems likely at some point although it may hold on to subscription longer than most. I wouldn't hold my breathe or hold it against it though.

I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I agree that the fights are not the greatest, but I hope that will improve with time. I would like to know more about pvp.

I don't know what you are looking for concerning Q/A for PvP, but here is a pretty good 6 minute video with commentary on AvAvA:

"We all have strong opinions within the studio" – Microsoft

Microsoft are telling the world that the sooner we all switch to using generative AI tools in our day-to-day lives, the sooner we will 10x ourselves. Yet the corporation are still only finding haphazard pick up by videogame developers, including some of their own studios.

Good, I hate the Idea of these corporations trying to put people out of work. I honestly think we need to all start speaking up on the issue before things start getting bad.

Reaper22_35d ago

I agree but we also need to do that with other corporations. Not just in gaming. But I also fell that its inevitable because its all about the bottom line which is the almighty dollar.

Abnor_Mal34d ago (Edited 34d ago )

What happens when people are out of jobs because of AI and robots being capable of doing the work of a human in less time and with out breaks. How will the corporations make money when the ordinary man is jobless and cashless unable to buy what the corporations are selling. How will it affect the corporations bottom line when they themselves put the working force out of work.

Trying to type fast before my phone resets.

well if we all feel its inevitable then it will be. I agree its just not about gaming, but its a good place to start.
