Ps4 is better and cheaper if 1080p and free games is your thing

@PoSTedUP pretty much summed up all the reason's and they are all true facts. Sony knew what to do and who to target this gen, and that's why I own a PS4 :D

Now I wish Sony and third party companies would change their minds about increasing the game prices in Canada :(

I hate to say it's over so early but... Sorry MS, You'll be behind the entire gen.

This is why I got a PS4 first this gen.

1. The price was the first reason. $400 is my limit for a console.

2. The PS3 is more powerful.

3. I can plug my ear buds or my skull candy SLYR into the controller and get game plus chat.

4. I can upgrade my own HDD.

Can't see the X1 TV services toppling Sky or Virgin Media, people already pay a decent amount per month, how much obviously depends on the package.

People have been doing this with great success for many many years now, MS for me would need to at very least match all the content I get from Sky in full HD, that includes all my sport channels( I pay extra for Boxnation also) with access to pay per view events.

If they cannot do that for the same price or cheaper then I will still need the Sky package, it really is a tremendous ask to try and come out on top against Sky.

Never got the tv connectivity thing, I just cant see the mass appeal of it at all.
However, I never thought waving your arms around in front of your tv would have such mass appeal, but the wi showed me I dont understand the mass market at all......
Maybe the tv thing will grab the markets imagination and open the machine to a bigger market after all, but early indications would suggest they will need to push this aspect a little harder if they hope to stimulate sales.

PS4 is the cheapest console to own of the big 3. With the purchase of the console you got a free $10 PSN credit. Then if you got PS+ for $30 on black Friday you have already got 4 games free on the system:

Resogun: 14.99
Contrast: 14.99
Don't Starve: 14.99
Outlast: 19.99

So far that means you paid out $430 but in return you've got $75 back making the system only cost $355 at this point in time, and there are still 8 months left on your PS+ sub, incredible bang for the buck.

Microsoft we know is the most expensive, with the highest price console and service and with no games for gold on the Xbox One, there have been no credits to the 535 you put out assuming you got gold for the $35 black friday price.

Nintendo is in the same boat as Microsoft with a couple of exceptions. They don't have an annual service, so you're only out the $300-$350, however retail games don't drop nearly as fast as the other systems so unless you rent, you end up paying more for your library.

So how can you argue with the best spec'd machine giving you the best bang for your buck. You can't and that's why it's winning big and will likely dominate this generation.

Have Microsoft not heard of Freeview I already pay for a Tv License I even have sports tv package am I gonna pay £429 for a games console to just watch more Tv no thanks I think I watch enough as it is, this exactly why I Won't buy an Xbox now or anytime soon, Xbox 360 was great but this whole tv and sports thing being the big feature for xbox, nah, it's a games console get me some games and then some more and when you finally get some good ones I'll be there, so that's ice halo 2 remake, halo 5, fable remakes, new gears (way off!) forza6? And all them games are out the way as I'm not interested in any, get me something of quality (sure they might be bit better than the launch games but halo's never done it for me) Goldeneye any day! ;). Crackdown 3 could be interesting, but Titanfall sounded good until the words EA, exclusive, Microsoft, pass!

Not only that xbox 360 and ps3 are on what 80-85 million consoles each, failure rate of Xbox 360 compared to ps3 massive difference, I've had 2 ps3's one launch and a silver slim much more recently (oct13) Xbox 360 I had 3 if not 4 and countless repairs I'm sure I'm not the only person to have to replace their faulty console themselves warranty was up or just couldn't deal with the hassle of calling Microsoft in uk, Xbox had a good run while it did but if they think they will match those sales and this new console is half as reliable then they ain't for a chance, 40-50 million at an absolute maximum, ps1&2 over 100 million each ps3 80-85 million and still counting (will clear 100 million) sure as I think ps4 could well be back on to great things for sony again, unless the whole gaming market crashes I can't see why Sony won't manage to get all 4 of their home consoles to sell over 100 million consoles, something Nintendo (who I've loved from birth, I'm 27) has only managed to do once with the Original Wii, Xbox 360 will be very lucky to clear 100 million and I don't think personally Microsoft have a hope in hell of getting anywhere near close to how good they had it when they had they xbox 360 out dominant in multiple territories and Sony on the Back foot , Nintendo just doing what they always do what they want how they want and with utter class. I'm not a fanboy and I've had an xbox 360 (still have my Star Wars one) for over 6 years but I just don't see the need to update with Microsoft. They've only just added some really basic features and the next update is meant to include the ability to see recently played people, what! Has this basic feature not been happening since launch, rush released again just to get out ahead or around the same time as Sony/ps4 it might have worked for them last time at a massive expensive in repairs bills but Microsoft being Microsoft chucked the cash and got their in the end, but they really should have delayed or waited 6 months sure ps4 is selling like mad but at least there console wouldn't be technically inferior and as i see It will continue to be so until they release another console.

I hear Microsoft have found another 8% of GPU so should start to help with this Resolution issue with most games they are having but at what expensive, it's not like people consoles have grown a new part overnight, ps4 can already do everything Microsoft it struggling desperately to do and yeah they may have momentarily solved it but what happens when launch period goes and ps4 kicks it up another gear? Not a good place to be on the Microsoft side of the fence. Sorry facts again.

This isnt hard. The legacy that they have. The promise of great upcoming games and the free games their online service provides. They're legendary. Although an xbox fanboy, I am well aware why they're a big deal

It's a foregone conclusion. PS4 will outsell XB1. There's no point speculating. The gap is just going to get wider.

For Now? Lol & what makes u think things will change later on? Didnt the ps3 launch a year later then the 360 & a year & a half in europe & yet the ps3 still came back to outsell the 360 worldwide. Remember the ps3 also was $100 more then the xbox one is now. I dont see how MS can catch up unless they have a MAJOR price cut that will make it cheaper then the ps4 but still, if we learned anything last gen is even with the 360 $200 cheaper, it didnt help MS. Ps3 still outsold the 360 worldwide & I dont see anything changing anytime soon.

I have a question for you next gen PS4 and XBOX ONE users if your got your new machine back in Nov or Dec. Has your internet bandwidth increased to the point it's a problem. Problem = overage charges or a letter from your ISP telling you to cut back or they will throttle you down. And for those who don't know what that means. Your ISP once you meet your plan limit will slow your bandwidth to a crawl so no video streaming without constant buffering and terrible lag in MP gaming. To force you to upgrade your ISP plan or even to force you to cancel their service.

Foe me its the games Sony has always had the games(exclusives) that I liked while others have not

The PS4 is just all hype. It has 2 games; KZ and Resogun a mega ton of shitty little indie games plus a few PC f2p multi-plats to which are better played on a PC anyway. Like I said it's all hype!

people are blind .. they just listen to the media. there are still people out there who think you can't play used games on XB1. every headline is about resolution and fps.

I still don't understand why these type of articles keep going on about who's selling more console? People are making their own choices buy PS or Xbox brands of consoles and both are selling very well. MS and Sony fans are acting like these companies are giving the customers something way beyond their purchases. Bragging about someone who's taking your money.lol video games are still fun but gamers are being jerks some more then others. Stop the crap and just have fun with your purchase.

The fanboyish on this site is ridiculous. The Xbox One will catch up due to the lack of features and "system sellers." The PS4 has not one system seller so far;
*The Order 1886- looks like it will have a good story but gameplay looks very stiff and bland
*Infamous Second Sun- Never a well selling title, because in my opinion people are sick of the "superhuman or superhero" genre
*Uncharted- Great game, always has been. Naughty Dog might be the best game developer there is
*Deep Down- Free to play "sigh" Dark Souls/Demon's souls rip off
Not saying there aren't any games just nothing that makes me say "Wow I need this system for this game" (Just my opinion). Let's also mention most of the "Great Sony exclusive's will won't see for years.

Xbox;
*Titanfall- not a huge system seller but it might spike sales a little bit (I know its on 360 and PC)
*Halo 2 Anniversary- Need I say anything?
*Halo 5- Might be the best one to date (hoping so atleast)
*Gears of War- Best franchise is history in my opinion(except Judgement)
*Quantum Break- looks amazing,gameplay looks good and story looks interesting
*Sunset Overdrive- Don't know much about but looks interesting (not necessarily a system seller)

The Xbox One has tons of features that some might not care about, but they are cool when you use them. The Kinect can be cool, but me I just put it back in the box a month ago I didn't use it, though it is cool.
The PS4 has no features and has 6 apps. Playstation Now will never go anywhere for maybe 4-5 years because most people still have their old consoles. The problem I have with the PS4 is the lack of features and things that Sony promised in the launch window, Where the hell are they?
PS4 being limited should help the Xbox One since people want the next-gen now and don't want to wait months for a console.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.

I hated that he died. The game was good but you never want to see a character you can relate or enjoy to die off like that. We wanted more Joel not less. Still a really good game but that part will always sit poorly with many

Not gonna lie, I think they made a big mistake. I mean I like a big unimaginable shock moments as much as the next person. It was just too soon though. If you’re going to kill off the main character you need a solid back up that people love just as much to carry the weight of the loss. If you’re setting it up for a trilogy then he really should have died at the end of 2 or half way through 3.

Who cares, that was like 6 years ago.

I don't mind the story, I think it is interesting in its own. But I would much prefer it stays as a story between Joel and Ellie (And I don't hate Abby, but it just feels like a third wheel when I play the game, feel like it is not a story about her). Joel can live with the consequences in a different way than just get killed off, his emotional conflicts between him and Ellie, Abby and everyone else would have a lot of interesting stories to tell, not any less than just get killed off.

So we as players, who controlled Joel in the first game, can get immersed and feel the guilt with him, instead of getting angry that he got killed.

TLOU Part 2 was a great game, but the entire game made me mad

Personally I liked that they killed off Joel, his death scene was great. The story was good and how revenge drives a person. The last quarter of the game was dumb after Tommy told Ellie where Abby was located. She leaves the farm goes in an arduous trek killing many more people along the way. Finds Abby in a cage releases her they fight, Ellie gets two fingers bitten off, and suddenly she doesn’t want to fight and kill Abby anymore, lets her leave with a warning even though she was the one losing the fight. Why go the rough all of that hassle just to let the focus of your hatred just leave. Should have stwyed home with Diana and keep all her fingers intact. Still a great game with a good story and I liked Abby I saw no reason for all her hate.

They could have killed Tommy and made it a revenge story with Joel and Ellie going after Abbie.

ND was trying so hard to make me sympathize with Abbie and it just wasn't working. I just don't understand how you make a "revenge is bad story" while having me mow through hundreds of NPCs just to get to the main culprit and just...not finish the job. Druckman is a terrible story teller.
