Titanfall – twelve is the magic number

GamesAsylum: "With the beta underway – and currently available to all, in order to test server stress – you don’t have to stray far on the internet to find previews, hands-on footage, or anything else deemed newsworthy about Titanfall. Not that much has been said about the twelve player limit, however. Or to be more exact – that this limit actually works in the game’s favour"

Magic number for the maps, mainly due to the size of titans. IMO if maps were designed with more titans and pilots in mind I dont see why more players would not work. Does anyone else find it strange how this is an EA game with no DLC packs yet confirmed?

Dlc was announced a while ago. Should be like a month after release

Too me, and again this is just my opinion but it feels like respawn is kind of making EA and MS do what they want and not vice versa. From everything i've heard EA has not touched this game besides publishing it and Respawn seems to be running the show. As for MS Respawn has told them to fix the controller and add more servers to places like Australia and MS is listening.

Volkama4521d ago

Respawn didn't tell MS to add more servers to Australia.

XBox Live servers are part of the Azure infrastructure, and 2 Azure datacentres are opening in Australia.

Titanfall will be able to make use of them, but you can be very certain that Titanfall isn't the reason MS are building them.

Why is it that I was immediately reminded of this?

There's no way in hell this game won't have DLC, No worries.

Plus just because Bf/Cod has high player counts does it mean all shooters should do the same??

jdiggitty4521d ago

"not much has been said about the 12 player count". Really? He also mentions how much information is out there about it then goes on to say the exact same shit every other site does.

Superior game journalism right there is what that is.

NonShinyGoose4521d ago

That information was gathered first hand, from playing the beta. Also, although a lot was said about the 12 player limit when it was announced, the focus of the article is to detail how it's not a major issue.

Volkama4521d ago

Titanfall is 6v6? Why has nobody ever mentioned that before!

Next they will be telling me the One version is not 1080p or some other crazy revelation :)

NonShinyGoose4521d ago

I believe you've missed the article's intent. It's not reporting that it has a 6 vs. 6 limit. That information is old. It's reporting that, going by the beta, that limit isn't an issue at all. The reasons are then explained.

Volkama4521d ago

Not at all, it was a light-hearted response to jdiggitty's observation that this subject is in fact well-trodden.

And it is.

It's not a crime for the author to share his personal opinion, but it's quite funny to imply that not much has been said on the topic already.

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad1398d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g1398d ago (Edited 1398d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way
I used to be obsessed with FPS games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
