Lag happens when you have bad ping/connection to a server. For example. I was playing with people who had over 200 ping on PC. This was the result, same as the video. You can't stop people from lagging even if it is dedicated servers. Its always been that way.

On Xbox One I was playing with people who had under 2 bars a lot of the time, and they were skipping around just as bad.

I don't know why you think that because its a dedicated server that it wont have lag issues, cause you are wrong.

If the person connecting to the server has bad internet/ping it will reflect just like this. If the game doesn't have network smoothing it will look just like this.

Player hosted and dedicated servers are far different.

Lag on a dedicated server almost always only shows up for the person lagging. For everyone else, they aren't skipping around. They'd just look like they don't know what they are doing or just don't do anything at all.

Lag on peer to peer/player hosted will show skipping and lagging to everyone, but, may not show it to the host.

You don't go on a MMO, which is on a dedicated server, and see other people lagging if your connection is perfect, unless the server is having issues. If the server is having issues then almost everyone is going to experience the issue. Not a select few that skip around like they are using gimmicky speed hacks that seem like they have full control over what they're doing and their movements aren't floaty like lag normally makes it.

To everyone else they are skipping, but to themselves they are likely not. Clearly if an enemy titan is having a 1v1 with a speedhacking titan and both show up at the same time then the "lagging" one is in real-time, and when he responds to everything at the right moment that the other one is doing and then zips far away in seconds and continues this for minutes at a time, and he is constantly zipping at this rate, then he is obviously cheating.

Thats INSANE.

Considering I've been playing games on PC since i was about 9. I have always seen this happen to people on dedicated servers. I am not talking about P2P I am talking about games that use dedicated servers. I have seen plenty of people skipping around missing animations shooting me while facing a different direction etc.

Dedicated servers benefit from good Ping. If someone joins the server with bad ping you will see them skip around. I've seen this in all types of games online.

I agree about the dedicated server part. It is Microsoft hosting both PC and Xbox One servers. So don't expect that any time soon really.

What he shows in the video has nothing to do with lag and ping times. That was clearly a hack.

Lag is not consistent like what we watched in the video.

I see people complaining about dedicated servers again and I can tell you right now if we went back to P2P hosting then it would be far worse. Trust me I know as I was a Halo 2 nut and about 6 months into the release that game became almost completely unplayable until the ban hammer came down and they bricked a shit ton of consoles.

Hope fully with so many people capturing game play these days it will be easy to identify the perps and brick their consoles or ban their accounts. It won't stop it all but it will reduce it to the hardcore cheaters only.

Exactly. Lag is not consistent at all and typically would have periods of slow-downs before a speed-up. It doesn't have a constant speed-up and then back to normal speed. Not to mention the speeder in the video was clearly reacting to real-time situations.
