It's good to see Nintendo stepping up their game for indies lately.
They'll be a huge factor in the Wii U's recovery in the long term, IMO...

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory4449d ago

lately they been indie friendly since the beginning of 2013

the new Yoshi title for Switch 2 will be $10 cheaper for Digital over Physical ($59.99 vs $69.99)

Agent7531d ago

Take a look on the PlayStation Store or whatever it's called. Prices are eye watering.

VersusDMC31d ago

Here in canada ghost of yotei and saros are 89 both physical and digital while pokopia is 99...so do you mean eye wateringly cheaper?

darthv7232d ago

For years it has been stated that digital should be much cheaper than physical.... it only took so long for one of the big three to actually do something. I hope other publishers take note and do the same thing on a more consistent basis. Outfits like LRG and SLG will still charge their prices for the convenience of a digital release on physical media, but with someone like Nintendo doing both and charging accordingly... you just expect to see similar actions from MS and Sony alike.

Reaper22_31d ago

M8crosoft and sony doesnt have to do that because they've been doing it long before Nintendo. They are the ones who hardly ever have sales on their games. They've been getting away with it for far too long.

darthv7231d ago (Edited 31d ago )

MS I can understand... because they hardly make physical releases anymore, but Sony, that seems like something they should look into. They DO still make physical releases and if they can make the digital version cheaper since no packaging to make... so be it. Wolverine would be a good place to see if this works. Physical version for $79.99, digital for $69.99.

FPSRUSSIA32d ago (Edited 32d ago )

this bad news as someone who only buys Physical hope Sony doesn't Follow since i prefer to only play on the PS5.

Nyxus31d ago (Edited 31d ago )

Nintendo is going to charge more for physical Switch 2 games.

Agent7531d ago

They have to pull back the loss from somewhere I guess.

1Victor31d ago

You mean they have to reign back their greed, they jumped the usual $5 game increment every 2 or 3 gen and triple it and now that the price is too high and the availability of memory is going down they got no choice but to drop their greed down

ChunkyMonk31d ago

@1Victor but Sony doing dynamic pricing is okay, right?

1Victor31d ago

@chunkymonky
Did I ever said it was ok ?
Please stop confusing me with obscured.
The last game I purchased for PS5 was Astro bot rescue missions and been playing classic games on PS+extra. So once again what is that and why are you accusing me of me of supporting it.
Just because I like Sony doesn’t mean I support everything they do blindly or attack other consoles or fanbase without a reason (well maybe that guy and its just for fun and clarifying his lies🤷🏿 )

Xx_Pistol_xX31d ago

@ChunkyMonk Sony's dynamic pricing it targeting those who have not purchased by making the games less. Nintendo just made a 50 dollar game into a 60 dollar game for those who want to purchase physical. Not even close to being the same.

Neonridr31d ago

well they didn't for Yoshi. I guess time will tell if they raise prices to offset.

italiangamer31d ago

Fake news, Nintendo released a statement saying they won't do that and people as always who can't read jumped to that conclusion about the original statement.

Xx_Pistol_xX31d ago

They already have. Mario Kart World won't be the last game to be at 80 dollars.

Profchaos30d ago

Which actually makes sense for games on a proper cartridge

About time this should have happened many years ago. Hopefully Sony does the same at some point.

Xx_Pistol_xX31d ago

You want Sony to have 80 dollar games and make a game that before yesterday was 50 dollars somehow 60 for physical. Not thanks. Keep that right over there.

Gives them much more (and their shareholders much less) control of their future. I can dig it.
