It's probably just code from the engine that they're using. You wouldn't expect EA to have console specific engines, or even 'next-gen' specific engines just yet.

Yeah Respawn obviously aimed for a multiplatform release before EA signed that deal. Remember that article (or was it a tweet) where the head of Respawn was disappointed EA didn't even tell them that they signed the deal?

I seem to remember a similar situation with bioshock as an box exclusive over a ps3 and people saying it was never coming to Sony.

Just me drawing lines but you never know maybe years down the line.

How many times is an article like this going to pop up? It seems that the xbot fanboys are doing the nyan cat dance while sony fans are dismissing it. I like playstation a lot but I choose what games I want to invest in. In all honesty if titanfall ends up on ps+ then I will download it. Simple. Laters.

I don't think this PS3 code thing means anything. But, I see this going the way of Bioshock and Mass Effect. Early Xbox/Microsoft Exclusives, but later on finding their way onto Sony Consoles. It's more plausible now that the PS4 is selling like crazy, but I guess only time will tell.

If people think it's going multiplat, they're going to be let down. Respawn has already said that the first one in the series will stay exclusive. The reason ps3 would be in the code is because it wasn't always an exclusive. Then MS paid them for it to be.

They were different as they were story driven games.

We know the sequel is likely to be multiplatform if there is one. Who would buy titanfall on ps4 when you can buy the presumably much better sequel.

Probably from back when they were preparing PS ports of the game, before the money hat took place.

From Vince Zampellas twitter back when the exclusivity deal was announced, he said "Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a startup. EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently =(" so it does seem that there was a possibility it was going to come later, but got scrapped after EA did the deal behind their back.

Maybe not, they might have account for less sold consoles at launch and a higher rate for the X1. With EA games selling more on the PS4 and more consoles sold then expected they might have gotten a bad deal.

I'm sure they thought they did at the time. I am also sure that they didn't anticipate this sort of sales discrepancy way back when they made this deal, and in all probability no, MS didn't pay enough to cover it.

I feel stupid sometimes after I kick the shit outta the game and I end up with like 15 pilot kills and 20 bot kills. Im probably not going to get titanfall because its just not worth 60 bucks. Ill get it for 9.99. Its a fun game but its also seriouly lacking in human players. And I dont use the titan very much. I like to bait my titan to attract players because you dont always interact against human players. If they had 18 players we would see more chaos and better interactions. You can run past bots and they wont do anything.

People that worry about kdr and how it makes them look are the ones bellyaching about these bots..

Maps would need to be much larger to handle another 6 titans.. Then pilot action is spread way out.. Its why they kept talking balance..

If you can't find human players to fight with, you're playing the game wrong. Lol.. Bots are just fun to demolish as you move from a to b.. Keeps the pace of the game nice and high without being a huge clusterf••k

While I still believe this won't come to the PS systems (for the first installment of the series anyway), this isn't the first time this has happened.

Remember the first Bioshock game? Remember how Microsoft paid for it to be exclusive. Ken Levine even went on record saying "there will be no PS3 version" despite PS3 code being found in the PC version of the game.

Yet despite all of that, we saw Bioshock 1 on the PS3 a year later with additional modes.

Goes to show you that nothing is truly set in stone these days.

2 companies that just can't do anything right Microsoft and EA. Both for whatever reason trying in in sync to destroy gaming. And list list of what these 2 have done wrong over the last 12 months is staggering. Both have become bad for gaming to the point of being toxic. I don't think there 2 companies in any business that are more blinded by greed.

That's probably exactly what happened. I own both the PS4 and XB1 and play them both equally. Maybe the xbox a bit more as I have more games for it. But the only reason I bought more games for it is because my nephew bought himself an XB1 as well and I take advantage of e home console feature to basically get two copies of a digital game for the price of one.
I also bought my XB1 because I really want Titanfall. The beta has been amazing. I don't care what people say about the bots. I play it like a MOBA but I also get a.lot of pilot kills as well as a few Titan kills. Rodeo-ing? A Titan is a great feeling that gets better when you eject off that exploding Titan only to land on another for another rodeo takedown. Or when both you and the enemy pilot eject from your exploding titans at the same time and you take him out with your rifle at the peak of your ejection.

I'm waiting for at killer title on my PS4 still. I may pick up infamous even though I didn't like the first two in the series. Any suggestions for a PS4 exclusive besides KZ (didn't like it) to pick up. One that is available right now or in the next couple of weeks or so?

yeah, i think ms screwed them over with the drm thing. if ms didnt pay ea a substantial amount of money then they probably attracted them with this drm and get money frojmsecond hand sales idea.

on a side note the drm thing suited me perfctly.
i wanted to buy games digitally this gen because i would have the whole collection on the hdd. the drm thing would have helped since i could have bought games physically which is cheaper, i get the boxes just for collection sake and would never need to swap discs.

Ironically.....they best thing EA could do for its image send skyrocket sales across the board....would be to outright break the contract with MS! Eat the legal cost and refocus on both consoles.

I realize they won't. Its far easier to adjust ala mass effect.

Thought it was a leftover from an early development phase or maybe from some assets they were using and stuff.

Just looked it up myself and it's in the Support folder and the rest in that folder is just some EA stuff and the .txt file is not that much about Titanfall and contains a lot of random info that looks more like general stuff. I don't think it's a sign for anything. Just a leftover from whatever, maybe Source, maybe EA, idk.
