@Gorgon: every time people comment on the new trend of dumbing down games for consoles console fans/boys get all worked up as if it was a personal attack to them when its pretty much a blame to "the game" certain developers if not the majority that do it since in a good amount of games its fact its not even opinion, for example remember Bethesda last interview which is known to be the king of dumbing down and simplification of games they pretty much admitted that they dumbed down games cuz they didn't think console gamers would be able to handle it...then tell me who exactly are you gonna blame? are you gonna throw another "grow up" to someone that even if trolling or not is sadly stating something that every time is becoming more and more factual and real? or are you gonna recognize it and blame the dev or even blame those new gen lazy console gamers that if the game is not super easy and rewards fast with very few effort the game automatically is "bad" (if the upcoming Witcher console port is a direct one this is a games those "gamers" will be complaining about and trashing in the forum)

and lets be real of this list the only one that could get a sort of direct port would be Crysis cuz the rest I guarantee you will be "toned" (since dumbed down is such and evil and yet realistic word) for consoles from the control scheme to make it someway more easy and rewarding with less effort that would have required in there original PC version and again don't blame people for stating this things that is become more and more fact blame those "gamers" that are the cause for this and the devs that go ahead and underestimate the capacity of console gamers for example Like Bethesda a dev that has been placed in the gold throne by console gamers only cuz of Oblivion and yet Bethesda could care any less about there current fan bases as they have demonstrated on how the love to look for new fan bases with each sequel of there franchises and pretty much alienate there old fan base (like they are doing right now with Fallout 3) if you have played all of the Elder Scroll games you will be familiar with there practises (which is a thing 98% of people on N4G haven't done) but if not wait till Elder Scroll 5 or Fallout 4 to feel there classic alienation

again don't blame people that are vocal about this blame those "gamers" and "the game" this devs are playing (specifically this gen cuz this didn't happened as much before)

Charlie, I understand you perfectly and I do sympathise with your position regarding this matter. I do think that many developers DO dumb down games for consoles, but I think that is becoming less and less apparent as time goes by, while you think that its becoming worse. I think many developers are starting to realise that console gamers aren't just 12 year old kids.

As for dumbing down for consoles due to controler issues, I call that adapting and streamlining a game for a different form of imput. Dumbing down a game has to do with game features, game world, gameplay complexity, not with a simplification needed for controlers.

As for Bethesda and FAllout 3, I don't know, I haven't played the game yet. You mean that they are toning down stuff like no chance of killing children and such? That's not a consoles problem, it has to do with sales. They are obliously putting a lot of money here that the developers of the original Fallout coudn't even dream of. Have you ever though why there's no children in GTA? Its to avoid even more witch hunting from the press. They know it would be too much even for them. And since they wanna sell like hot cakes, even Rockstar does a bit of dumbind down. And I'm sure the problem isn't consoles. The same can be said about future versions of Deus Ex, Thief, etc. They will be simplified to a certain degree because they want the game to sell as much as they can, not because its a game for console "retards".

Look, man, I know how you feel, I've been a PC player for the last 18 years, this is nothing new to me on both sides. But I think that developers are starting to realise that consoles aren't for kids or people who can't afford a PC. They are for people who simply prefer them to playing on a PC, just like I'm moving from PC to consoles. And I do have the money to keep on PC gaming, I just spent 2300 euros on a PC last year. Those developers who don't realise this are going to pay for it eventualy.

There are plenty of multiplatform games that are not dumbed down for consoles, and I think we will see more and more as time goes by. If PC players are pissed of because of that dumbing-down, then don't blame consoles and console players, blame the developers who are retarded to the point of not realising that there are no difference between players, just different platforms of choice. THATs why I say to PC fanboys (because thats what they are if they make such remarks) that they should say "don't dumb the game down for any platform" instead of retarded comments like "this gamez shoudsz be PCs ONLY!ITZ gonna BE DUMBEDS DOWN for CONSOLEZ!" This kind of imature attitude brings no one any benefit.

my pc can run cod4 but my xbox can run it better. after playing it on 360/ps3/pc i can say there is no dumbing down. if you play pc with a controller it's the same. my xbox rrod and i traded-in cod4 for gta4 for ps3, so idk how bad xbox version got(wich i doubt) or how good the pc version got. but it's the same it's not dumbed down. why would you say that? set the analog stick to insane and it's basically as fast as a mouse. there is dumbing down,but not always.
