Titanfall Beta: First Impressions

Techraptor - I (Andrew Otton) wouldn’t treat this as a review, but definitely a first impression, considering what I had access to was limited. Also, keep in mind the game is not due to release until March 11, so some change may happen. With that said, I cannot see much of the game changing between now and then, as it is less than a month away. It is probably more accurate to call it a demo than a beta anyway.

Dont get me wrong, TF is a good game, but if you are expecting a genre defining game (which most people are) you are gonna be a little disappointed.

Agreed. Just played the beta on PC and it may be a cool thing to run around the map but it becomes a chore after a while. This game isn't nextgen at all. I really don't understand why it doesn't just have 24 players instead of 12 players and 12 bots. I found myself running around back and forth trying to find actual players. The AI bots are just distraction at best and add nothing to the gameplay. The titan is really cool though. I can't help but imagine this game could of been a lot better with just a higher player count. A good game but could be so much more. Just lacking in way too much content. I will get it when the price lowers to what it's actually worth.

Just been playing the beta Meh!

Each to their own .. don't like it? dont play it !

I , on the other hand think it is a fantastic game.
I got the same buzz playing this as when I played my first game of Cod4.

I have got Cod ghosts, BF4 and Killzone. For me .. this relegates them all to the bottom draw ready for trade in.

This is definitely the next big thing .. come back in 2 months and tell me I was wrong!!

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

I played them all, they are all good in their own way

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."
