I still think it can be a lot of fun if you are the guy who is interested in CoD and other fast paced shooters.

I'm sure it'll be a fun and polished game and that's all it needs to be. Kind of like warhawk was on ps3

read it, cant say i agree with it but hes entitled to his opinion. 1 article saying its over hyped compared to everyone liking it. Dont understand the reasoning why he says people will only be able to play this in short bursts i literally put over 10 hours in the alpha which was 3 days long. soooooooo lol

It amazes me how Destiny isn't getting more hyped, I think it looks far more entertaining over TitanFall

First negative article I've found SO FAR today. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion. I didn't get a chance to play the Alpha, and am hoping to get into the Beta.

What's this...a site actually being pretty honest with his preview on Titanfall, that's a first

Nearly every big site who has previewed it recently, take a gander through the recent articles on here, roughly say the same things but word it differently, like they've all been told what to say. If it was one or two sites fair enough but it's like the majority of them.

If you want the next stage of multiplayer then look at Destiny, that game blows Titanfall out of the water. What you don't see in Destiny is the same FPS formula we see in COD but only adding a few new features from other games to make it seem different

Every great game in recent history was hyped beyond belief. Last of us, bios hock infinite, and so on. This game is gonna be good for sure. For sure. Being great...that's a different story.

This isn't a matter of whether the game will be good. Just a bunch of Sony fans are trying to play the game down. Just remember, the game is on PC too. It's okay not to hate it. Lol

this guy is crazy i played Titanfall already at a gaming event and i have the Alpha version still on my X1.... the game is Epic, extremely fast pace and very balance.... and welcomed change up to the FPS shooter genre

I agree, why be hyped over another COD with mechs lol (sarcasm). Timmyshire, you are going to get all the clicks you wanted and then some. There has been too much good XB1 news today, ps4 fans need a release.

On topic, I'll trust the hundreds and hundreds of user testimonials I saw on twitter during the alpha period, in terms of hype. I still want to play if for myself though, we are all entitled to our opinions. Standby for Titanfall.

Excited to try it out. These guys know how to make a fun game. I don't expect the next coming of Gaben, but it'll be lots of fun. :)

It's all relative. I got super hyped for this game the moment I saw it at E3. Did it live up to the hype when I played the alpha? I'd be the first person to stand up and say that it didn't if that were the case but I had an absolute blast with it for those few days I was able to play. People will have their opinions and of course there's bound to be people who won't like this game. Play it for yourself and then make the decision, rather than letting someone like me or some other person's opinion in a news outlet dictate that for you.

I think they are just trying to capture the spirit of negativity with this article.

Signed up for the beta, going to be running this at 1080p on my laptop, hopefully this also support triple monitors also 5k :o). Not really bothered about the 360 or xbone versions.

Sorry but I just saw a Machinima vid on Titan just now and it looks kinda boring.. Not to say the whole game will be like that.. But 6 v 6 with AI can lead to some very boring down times.. Im not gonna care about defeating AI (anything), I only care about defeating Human Players. Even if the game keeps pushing AI in my face, I know that they're bots and it will give me less motivation to keep playing... I think this game will be good for a month then die down.. I mean, if the game at least had point streaks that can use team AI and Vehicles in special ways, that would add lasting fun factor.. But if its just Mech and Soldier and 6 v 6 gameplay.. I really think and feel the game will get boring rather quickly..

That's what happens why you believe in the hype of a game you leave disappointed.

Haha....this headline looks ridiculous among all the other actual articles (not opinion pieces) that say that Titanfall actually looks as good if not better than the hype. ...and even in this article he says it's good and you should buy it.

Sorry, but in my opinion, if any game suffers from over-hype (and like this guy I even liked it), it was Last of Us. Except that it didn't do anything original, didn't do anything better than something that has been done before, MP was a waste, there is NO replay value at all, and the story was GREAT and the only thing special about the game...until the end when it took a huge dump....yet the bandwagon fans are making it game of the year. Hopefully Titanfall is as good as 99% of the reviews say it is, then at least if it wins game of the year, it will be for having taken a risk and done something different.

Fans need to develop their own opinion instead of listening to other people to base theirs off of, you will only be disappointed.

He said its a Great Game, but not innovative - hence why the hype is being blown out of proportion. Seems like a totally reasonable evaluation to me.

That said, I personally won't let lack of innovation deter a purchase for me. Hell most of the games im looking forward to this year are sequels.

It really is quite pathetic to see the jealousy surrounding Titanfall. I am PS4 owner and would love to see it on the system, but I'm not going to pretend it doesn't look awesome just because it isn't coming to the PS4. I tried to read the article but all i got was "im a Sony pony, im a Sony pony. I wish this was on ps4. Butthurt, butthurt. IM a Sony pony". The knucklehead who wrote this garbage can be that one guy who hates a game purely because its exclusive to the "enemy" the rest of us will be having fun playing this kickass game

So another K/D shooter, kinda what I thought.

I can never play them for hours on end. Should be fun but I never need more than one those types of games a year so I'll stick with BF4, which is the king of mp focused competitive FPS games IMO. Huge maps, 64 players, and wide range of vehicles. So many crazy things happen in BF4 all the time.

The problem is MS needs Titanfall to keep the XBO alive, so they are hyping it to all hell, just look at the flood of Titanfall "articles" all of a sudden. Nobody is saying it is a bad game, just that it really doesn't look that much better than Call of Duty Modern Warfare and the XBO version is definitely gimped compared to the PC, especially since 1080 at 60fps should be no problem with a higher end gaming PC. Video gaming is about having a choice and a lot of PS4 players are also PC players.

Titanfall is going to be great and I am really looking forward to it but listening to some people, it's like this game is going to change videogames forever.

I don't doubt that Titanfall will be a quality game; but with the marketing push Microsoft will give it, it will be overhyped for many unless it's a game changer for FPS multiplayer. If it ends up feeling like Call of Duty but a little different, I'm not sure that's enough.

Call of Duty is like WoW. When both came out, they revolutionized and popularized a genre. They built up massive fanbases and continued to add more content and more polish. Now, even though sales are "declining" and it's popular to crap on both franchises, it's still much more polished and packed with content than most other competitors.

So I'm curious to see how Titanfall does. It will absolutely do well proportional to the install bases (2-4 million on Xbox One, 3-6 million on Xbox 360), but much like the reinvention of Halo by 343 it's not the overall sales that will determine the IP's success, but how large and consistent its multiplayer ecosystem is and how much the next game sells. Halo 4 scored very well and sold very well, but multiplayer dropped off quicker than any mainline Halo game I've ever played (including Reach) and now there are just as many dissenting opinions on 343 and Halo as there are optimistic.

All things considered, this will be very interesting.

Personally the game Evolve looks more interesting and loads more fun then this overhyped MS/EA game.

Look, not everyone is going to love every game. I happen to strongly disagree with this reviewer. I played in the Alpha for an entire weekend and it never got old or boring as he seems to feel it may. Again, to each their own.

My personal take Titanfall is going to be very, very popular and worthy of the hype.

I'm glad the hype train has stayed away from Destiny tbh. We will get to see it as a dark horse kicking some serious ass when it comes out.

The game is being hyped for a reason. It's just that good. If you don't like it (can't play it) then you could always play Knack.

people don't understand that COD is so successful because of it's simplistic approach. people vs people with guns. Adding mechs can and will be cool, but titanfall will never have the simplicity of COD. That will appeal to a lot of people, but not the majority. Thats my opinion anyway. COD killer, it will not be.

quite a few reporters and press have played this game and loved it, one says he doesn't. personally i haven't really played cod all that much so i could care less what he says, he has rights to state his own opinion. so regardless of what he says am still gonna play it

People need to learn how to read. It's a click-bait title. The guy actually really enjoys the game, but just doesn't think it's a game worth playing hours on end (no multiplayer does that for) and he doesn't think it is innovative. Other then that it are all positive points he's bringing across.

I'm not hyped and will not be getting this its just a mix of games we have already played and nothing new really. I don't see why there is so much hype other than maybe the COD hypocrites saying COD sucks so I'm gnna play this because it clearly isn't just a reskin of COD w/parkor&Mechs.

This is one of the more realistic reviews that I have read. The lower one's expectations are going in the better enjoyment the game will be.

The article's spot-on. If you haven't checked it out yet, watch the Giant Bomb Quick Look for Titanfall, it was released recently through YouTube. It plays very much like Call of Duty - a bit like a much-needed sequel to CoD4 in terms of gameplay.

The small changes will probably win over plenty of CoD gamers, at least for half of the year before they move to whatever Sledgehammer's working on. However, I don't think this game, with its visual style and mechanics, along with the multiplayer-only feature set, will win over anyone who isn't already into this stuff.

Maybe that's enough - that's a big audience, quite like making a newer, better football game to compete with Madden. It's certainly not looking like the more genre-bending and spectacular-looking Destiny by any means, and I don't think non-shooter-fans will be won over.

I was in the Alpha and it's the most fun I've had playing any game in years. I'll take my opinion and my own experience over this.

I think it will be a excellent title but with all the hype most will feel let down to some degree 720p 60fps isn't really next gen either. Killzone shadow fall wasn't exactly all that fantastic either but it was 1080p 60 fps that makes you feel like you really are playing on upgraded hardware unlike xbone.

i'm starting to believe sony promotes hate for their competition with the the help on sonybots, well killzone was certainly an awful game, and still to this day ps4 has no good games. i have heard more positive reviews of titanfall & i think this is the only bad one i have heard.... funny

its his opinion so i respect that and he had some good points about why its being held as innovative...when you enter the fps genre which is extremely overcrowded imo...there isnt really much you can innovate on...everything had been done to death when it comes to fps...the reason im looking forward to this game is because i want a game that goes back to basics much like how simple cod 1-4 were...thats why i didnt bother with black ops or the other mw games because they added to much stuff which just broke the games in my opnion...keep it simple,fun, and good gameplay which are things that looks like titanfall has...i could be wrong but ill have to wait and see....here's hoping that i get into the beta

All of this TF bashing is taking me back to the good ole ME days.

When the FIRST ME dropped, you saw so many posts on this site along the lines of either "so what, it's an shooter that claims to be an RPG" or "I'll play it on the PC f u xbox sucks"

As SOON as ME2 went to the PS3, people here praised that series to the heavens and said MS "lost their only game".

The logic of this community is why I come back to it - it is downright hilarious.

ALL IN ALL, some will like this game. Some won't as is the case with every other game ever made. But to try and act like the TF hate around here is legit and has nothing to do with console alliance is bull.

Even if this was a PS exclusive I wouldn't touch it, not for $60 + DLC. Far too many good games across all platforms. I have as much excitement to play Payday 2 as I would have for Titanfall. Nothing special, at least Payday 2 is free on Plus :)
