Avoiderdragon: Among the old school RPG titles that helped form the genre that we now know today, some have survived in some form while others had been left to languish in the annals of gaming history. However, while those that still survive like Diablo have been twisted into a shadow of its former self, Might and Magic has always been the series that most people have vaguely heard about and has somehow maintained a good bit of its original form. Of course, the newer games did take on more modern features, but this one has gone back to the distant past to relive its legacy.

GameDynamo - "Might and Magic X Legacy was a risk from the start. The series has lain dormant for a long time – and in doing so, there are now two types of fans: those who loved M&M back in the day (but find it a hard series to go back to), and those who can still go back and find their way through the old titles. That being said, MMXL might also have a hard time convincing newcomers to give it a shot. I say this because it marks itself as the 10th entry to a series that nobody has seen on the shelf in a while (assuming we aren’t looking at the spin-off series and Heroes VI) and that can be a turn-off for some."

The new game from Ubisoft's Might & Magic series tries to bring the RPG genre back to its origins. Whoever gets in Might & Magic Legacy X having never played an RPG to 10 or 15 years may not realize exactly what this game is. While drawing inspiration from the games of the older genus, most of its mechanics are current and modern 3D graphics.
