Does Microsoft want to take over Capcom?

A nice juicy rumor in this months edition of the Electronic Gaming Monthly; it is said that, after Rare, Microsoft has plans to take over Capcom as well to get more feet on the ground in Japan! It would make sense after Lost Planet and Dead Rising that were both Xbox 360 exclusive.
More about this rumour and some other nice rumours (Just Cause 2 has green light from Eidos and Konami pushing to get MGS to Xbox 360) by clicking the link below.

so cool for every 360 owner

DJ7046d ago

No way Capcom's stupid enough to pull that maneuver. Then again, these are the guys that shut down Clover.

THE TRUTH7046d ago

Since it is rumor I will take this news as such but I think this kind of move would spell the end of MS in Asian regions! I think they would take a move like this as insulting and very hypocritical! So now gamers would HAVE 2 buy a 360 to enjoy capcom games? What happened to choice?

Another point is it would show a major weakness in the 360 due MS to pull off such a move! If the 360 is so successful then why buy capcom?

Seriously anything short of MS buying both Square and Konami would be a waste of money! Because that's what it would take for MS to out a debt in both sony and nintendos dominance of that region!

Well, MS has not much to lose in Asian regions, do they? So why not give it a try. I don't see your point that it would be a sign of weakness, if they can get some good exclusive asian games that would certainly help the Xbox 360 in Asia (and also in Europe/US).

Maybe some Asians will be pissed off, but if they wanna play good games they'll still have to buy the Xbox 360. And we have more generation to come after this one, it will be long forgotten then.

I think it would be a very smart move.

EasilyTheBest7046d ago

If you ask me they should buy Sega and they should of done it ages ago..
Buying Capcom is a rumor yes, but its obvious that Microsoft will eventually buy a large Japanese company for their games, they will have too for the next round of consoles...

Report: New Dead Rising Game in Development, Now Set In Hollywood

A new Dead Rising is in the works, and we have the first plot details on this entry, which takes Frank West back to the action.

scorpio_204987d ago

Please make it in a theme park or something extravagant like the original mall and casino(but different). DR is all about bigger than life environments, not some realistic gritty town.

Ugh, the last one was so trash bro 😔

Hollywood blvd is already full of zombies anyway

Capcom announces next event to showcase Dead Rising and Resident Evil

Capcom has just announced its own event where it will showcase some of the upcoming titles it is working on.

Fishy Fingers608d ago

"RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard for iPhone/iPad/Mac."

Feels like a deliberate omission from the title.

Babadook7607d ago

How wish it was...

"RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard for iPhone/iPad/Mac/PSVR2."

Sonic1881608d ago

"Note: this event will not include news or updates for other titles."

Armyofdarkness608d ago

-Foxtrot608d ago

Friendlygamer608d ago

I'm hoping they bring the classic versions of 2 and 3 to console

Canceled Dead Rising: Dia De Los Muertos Gameplay Surfaces Online

Videos of the canceled Dead Rising: Dia De Los Muertos have come to light, giving us a look into what the game could have been.

Underpants1102d ago

Shame loved the Dead Rising series. Even enjoyed 4 but not sure why they removed the campain co op.

TheColbertinator1102d ago

A zombie lover like me will always wait for a new Dead Rising.

hotnickles1102d ago

Dead rising 1 was one of my favorite games back in the day. I never got into the others like I did DR1. DR2 was ok but 3 and 4 were kinda lame.

Kakyouin1101d ago

Absolutely agree with you 100%. 1 was A MASTERPIECE even though it had several things that were not that good. But still a very solid title. And the ending was EPIC.

hotnickles1101d ago (Edited 1101d ago )

I agree. I’ll never forget grinding the zombies in the parking tunnels to get the mega buster weapon. Its uniqueness will always stand out to me and is high up on my all-times.

MasterChief36241101d ago (Edited 1101d ago )

When I got over the rather bland art direction of Dead Rising 3, I actually fell in love with that one. Dead Rising 4 on the other hand.... :(

It's a real shame the Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX + Alpha DLC isn't available on PC. It was one of the best DLCs I've ever played, it was so fun! But alas... I no longer have my Xbox One :(

hotnickles1101d ago

I should give it another try on the newer Xbox controllers. I remember jumping over to the Xbox controller was a big peeve for me. I loved the 360 controller and dead rising was one of my very first games on it. The Xbox one controller felt cheaply and loose and it bugged me. I don’t feel that way with the series x one.

Kakyouin1101d ago

Never played 3 or 4 but I read they weren't the same. As for 1 I guess the character played the "path of the hero" so well, no other title could keep it up with. 2 had to have another instance with Frank. And that's what I loved about the first: Frank was a good for nothing and still was the hero. He was not funny, he was not the hero everybody wanted. He was just there "for a good story". And the psychos..... my goodness!! Adam, the snipers, the three prisoners on the garden, the cult! MY GOODNESS!

Nebaku1102d ago

Good Riddance. Capcom Vancouver's entries are a big stain on what was a great, charming game series.

The ideas shown here are the pinnacle of their ineptness. Yeah, let's remove items on the ground, a core mechanic to the franchise, and one that people would show they still love in BOTW 2 years later.
