Mass Effect 2 Going Multiplatform, Halo Wars Pushed Back

While Microsoft has been pushing this year's line-up their silence on other high-profile titles may be all the evidence needed to substantiate the rumors. Mass Effect 2 on PlayStation 3, a year without a Halo game? Say it ain't so!

Mass Effect 2 will be a welcomed addition to the PLAYSTATION®3 lineup. This game will not be riddled with the glitches and errors the Xbox 360 version has.

$niper

Varsarus6618d ago

Of course, my friend.

Mass Effect 1 ran terribly on the inferior Xbox 360, the 2nd game will be multiplatform and will be superior on the PlayStation 3.

Shaka2K66618d ago

I think its safe to say bioware had enough of the xbug 180 limitations beacuase trash effect looked like a power point presentation on the xbug 180.

failo Wars Delayed!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahahahaha.

killercam196618d ago

yea cus u kno all games that go to ps3 are less glitchier and more stable get ur head out of ur azz u lying retards

n00bPwner6618d ago

Wow, you droids are f*cking stupid. Mass Effect ran incredibly well on 360 (locked framerate), it only had some minor loading bugs as a result of using UE3, which most UE3 games suffer from.

And seeing as how PS3rd actually has less available ram (crap OS takes-up more ram than 360's awesome OS which has more features), you will have more loading errors as a result.

morons, get owned.

n00bPwner6618d ago

OK, so just because M$ didn't announce M.E. 2 this year, that means it's coming to PS3? Oh, please. You droids wish you had a game as great as Mass Effect. Maybe the last game JUST came out last year and they need some god damn time to make the next one? Duh.

Thanks for pointing that out. Still, if this ends up on the front page a lot of people might get the wrong idea.

JoelR6618d ago

not if they read the first two comments in the comments section they won't ^_-

PS360WII6618d ago (Edited 6618d ago )

the writer got this theory because MS didn't take about ME2 lately. Lame and half the people in this site do not read anything but the title :(

sonarus6618d ago

Well the reasoning behind this isn't very sound. It isn't really a rumor its more of speculation but unless Msoft pays EA some $, Mass Effect will be on a PS3 near you

tplarkin76618d ago

This is speculation. A rumor comes from a legitimate source, but the source may be secret.

There was no source for this article. Nobody said anything regarding Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, or Halo Wars. The headline is simply false.

An honest article would simply raise the question as to why these games were not covered.

hades076618d ago

Would MS have to pay EA money for the second one to be exclusive? I thought I read something before talking about how MS has a contract for the first two Gears of War and Mass Effect games.

Superfragilistic6617d ago

I agree mate this is pure speculation for web hits.

I still think Halo Wars will come this year but it's being held off for E3. As for Mass Effect 2, well Bioware have previously stated that whilst multiplatform was likely, in such a case it would be a timed exclusive for 360.

dle6617d ago

This is premature speculations at best! Bioware have just finished Mass Effect holiday 2007. They have but about 5 months to work on Mass Effect 2, if indeed they had already started on that. A sequel of ME caliber will take a minimum 18 months to finish, 24 months more reasonable. So at this point there is not thing that can be shown to the public, at there is no need to start the hype about it when there is nothing to be shown.

Condoleezza Rice6618d ago

EA aren't knowing for making exclusives,so it's highly likely that ME2 will launch on multiple platforms.

Still a rumor for now.

JoelR6618d ago

I tend to think that this will remain a X360 exclusive as Microsoft did fund part of the first one (I suspect contractual obligations...) But then again we see Ninja Theory go multiplat after Sony funded their last project.

Condoleezza Rice6618d ago

And why did I type 'knowing' lol?Need to put down the drink

Yeah,it's possible that Microsoft has the rest of the series as an exclusive,ME is a million+ seller so it would make sense to lock it down

Fallen_Angel6618d ago

Bioware already confirmed ME 2 will be exclusive to the 360

QuackPot6617d ago

They want to maximize their profits by multiplatforming their games.

Unfortunately, recently their choice of developers as very suspect with crappy ports to the Ps3.

Do a better job with Madden 09 and you'll be forgiven EA.

So it doesn't matter if Xbox 360 doesn't have Halo, as it isn't a one trick Pony. Oh wait.

t-0_ot-6618d ago

This doesn't make sense to have ME2 on the PS3.. for two reasons.
1. The PS3 fanboys always said they hated ME, and the gameplay "Sucked."
2. They didn't get the first game on the PS3, and therefor will miss out on the story.

I think Crackdown would fit in a more turn-based tactics system via Xcom then a RTS type game play. Being able to customize multiple agents, deploying that group in an crime infested urban zone, going against other super powered enemy and fodder type thugs. The potential for that is huge if they won't do another successful, ground breaking, GOTY open world outing like Crackdown 3....

P_Bomb1200d ago

I could see that. I feel like State of Decay could spin-off into something strategic as well.

giovonni1199d ago

Actually that would be kind of fly if they made it a turn base RTS.

lellkay837d ago

Crackdown tactics would be legit!!

Halo 4 best campaign and multiplayer. Halo 3 best story.

AuraAbjure1508d ago (Edited 1508d ago )

Halo 4 has the hottest Cortana too which explains why the MC is the hardest in that campaign and why H4's multiplayer is the illest. Chief ain't afraid to take on teleporting enemies that can one hit melee kill.
