Didn't EA Say a long time ago there will be no PS3 versions of any ME games? I think MS was supposted to have cut a deal with them on that.

If you actually read the article. The 'ONLY REASON' the writer of this story claims that Mass Efect 2 is going multiplatform is bc Microsoft didn't talk about it at their gamers day.

Microsoft even stated earlier that they don't want to show games until they are ready.

MS: "We're not showing Halo Wars here today because we wanted to focus on these titles," he said. "When we show titles WE WANT TO SHOW THEM WHEN THEY ARE READY. We've learned that from a few games we showed too early, like Too Human."

As a PS3 owner I'm bound to be patient, apart from being a patient individual, so I don't care if games get delayed on the PS3.

Most of the time games get delayed for the better... So if Alan Wake and Halo Wars(useless game IMO), got delayed, so they can be released a better product?? It's all good.

It's been known for a while that Mass Effect 2 is not coming out in 2008, that's why it's not in this year's line-up. It's pathetic how PS fanboy would seize upon every opportunity to say some Xbox 360 exclusive will be ported to PS3.

Hello? It's known for a long time that Mass Effect 2 won't be out in 2008.

The earliest Mass Effect will be out is in 2009.

And given that BioWare does not have any internal staff that knows how to program for the PS3 and hasn't put up any ad to hire people to code for the PS3, I don't expect BioWare to make anything for the PS3 soon.

I have no interest in mass effect 2, but I really hope the PS3 starts getting some RPGs pretty quick here. The PS3 was supposed to be the RPG lovers platform, so where the hell are all the RPGs?

It could also be that ME 2 isn't coming out this year (though ME 2 has a 80% chance of coming out on the PS3 as well concurrently with the 360 version).

i would like it if ME2 went multi. i believe loading would be better on the PS3 since it would probably have a mandatory install, in turn decreasing loading times. i should probably get back to trying to beat the first one, haha.

I got BANNED on the BioWare forums because I asked if Mass Effect or Dragon Age would come to the PS3. I had posted only ONE message in the forum.

BioWare staff got so sick and tired of the rumors that they have a strict policy: any PlayStation fanboy (which I'm obviously not but they think I'm one) who goes into the forums and asks/suggests that Mass Effect or Dragon Age will/should come to the PS3 get a ban immediately. Ask/say it three times and you get a *permanent* ban.

Just because they didn't show Halo Wars doesn't mean it's not coming out this fall. It's a pivotal title that NEEDS to come out this year. Alan Wake being pushed back is confirmed. But Mass Effect 2 being multiplatform is pretty obvious. The hardware bases for PS3 and 360 are going to be relatively equal by the end of the year, and that's something that EA obviously will not ignore.

They didn't pay a billion dollars for Mass Effect to be 360-only.

The PS3 couldn't even run the first one hell it needed more time on the 360 what makes you think they would gimp the game going backwards from the first one?. PS3 doesn't have the RAM; hell ME on the 360 needed tweeking to better use its memory.

The foundation of the ME engine is multi core based I read this they would have to start all over for PS3 as if they have the time ans resources to do it even if EA made them and we know EA isn't going to come close if a seperate team somehow was able to keep up.

The game is a trill with a time frame of 3 gamers in this generation or close to it, ME on the PS3 would take the rest of the current generation to develope.

because they have none... we knew about 360's 2008 line-up since 2006 and 2007.

Before releasing HALO3, Bioshock and ME last year.... They were talking about production of Fable2, Halo wars, Alan Wake, BK, NG2, Too human (this one since the original xbox).

MS doesn't talk about the future because they do not have any new exiting IP's.

Soon to be announced?? Forza3, PGR5, Probably HALO4 or something related to HALO, Bioshock 2 etc etc.

I am asking because my brother in law bought the first one for his 360 played it for about an hour then traded it in.

i never understood the thinking of fanboys. exactly WHY would XBox fans fear Mass Effect 2 coming to the PS3? even if it comes to the PS3 (which this article offers no concrete news about, other than speculation), it doesn't mean its NOT coming to the 360 as well. i have Mass Effect on my 360 and i have no problem whatsoever if ME2 came to both the 360 and the PS3, as it would make the game available to that many more gamers.

More people get to play Mass Effect as a result. The franchise started on the 360 and I will finish it that way. 2008 is looking to be strong. Ninja Gaiden II in June, Too Human in August, Gears of War II in November, Fable II (08) and Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts...360 owners have plenty of excellent titles to play. For comparisons sake I would dare say that Xbox's line up is better than PS3's.

just wanted to share the games I am buying on the PS3 this year. All ready got RB6V, GT5P, and GTAIV. Rest of the year Sing Star, Motorstorm 2, Star Wars TFU, Resistance 2, Haze (the story has me hooked), Metal Gear Solid 4, LBP, and Socom.

There are a lot of games I am still thinking about but these are all multi plat.

Also people always forget the weekly arcade titles and "smaller" games that won't often get so hyped. There will be more than enough gaming at least for me.

I have this strange theory that the reason that Mass Effect looked so bad was that Microsoft pushed the release of the game before it could be polished up. Oh and for the record the game kicked ass. Maybe If the game came out on the PS3 they would have the time to polish it up and finish it, so no matter the hardware specs the game will look better. If it truly is coming out on the PS3.

Mass Effect 2 is multi-platform that's a good thing I'll play the 1st on the PC and transport to the second on my PS3.
Besides had a good reason for delaying their games found ways to make it better.
Sony was fighting 3 fronts in this console war.
2006: The start of Blu-ray and getting the format noticed.
2007: Method to rise PSP Sales and make things more compatible between Sony products and the start of some AAA PS3 Titles.

Things just turned around from the Xbox's favor to the PS3's favor.
PSP number 1 in Japan and Europe.
PS3 is on the rise and the games show for itself.
PS2 is still fire selling great games and is the last console of the last gen console race.

The article is speculation. However, John Ohlin has a pretty valid argument. Microsoft touted all their BIG first and secondary party titles (games that are either published as MS First Party Titles or they basically own the rights to) at this event. They've long before with Mass Effect treated it the same way. However, not mentioning it at this event was pretty surprising and more than likely COULD be because a) the game will not see a 2008 release and/or B) it's no longer an MS First Party title like it was expected to be. That's like Sony forgetting to mention Little Big Planet or Metal Gear Solid 4 at this point.

EA is and has never been known for doing exclusives. They are a profit company. What are the chances you think they'll keep ANY game exclusive? Probably less than 1% so it is a safe bet that this game and probably the first will find their way to PS3 in one form or the other.

All that's wrong with the article is the headline makes it sounds like it's a definite. However, you all will be singing a different tune anyway when it turns into reality. I think he's just playing his cards and he has a good grasp with how PR works and by them suspiciously not mentioning what was arguably going to be ONE of their BIGGEST titles of the year (and a former exclusive at that) then that does raise a few eyebrows.
