IGN: BattleForge First Look

It's been 15 years since Magic: The Gathering established collectible card games (CCGs) as gamers know them. EA's brand new BattleForge isn't a MTG clone, but it does look to blend online collectible cards with real-time strategy. The result is something that IGN haven't quite seen before, and it looks to have a lot of potential. BattleForge comes from EA Phenomic, the company's German studio that was previously known for the SpellForce RTS games. EA bought the studio in 2006, just when BattleForge was in early gestation, so what IGN saw recently is fairly well along in the development process.

1RBC: This has been a pretty exciting week for game news- this week, Sony announced that they'd be cutting off Playstation Now support for the Vita, PS3 and every other device that's not a PS4 or PC, some big announcements came out of Nintendo regarding DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as well as more details about Splatoon 2, and EA has handed over (partial) control of the card/strategy game BattleForge to their fans- all this and more on this week's episode of 1RBC Gaming Weekly.
