There have been a startling number of "PC Gaming is Dying!" sort of statements coming out lately, the latest of which coming from Cliff Bleszinski of Unreal Tournament fame. This statement no doubt related to the poor sales numbers of Epic's own Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War PC. I suppose it's worth noting that Gears of War PC was released almost a year after its 360 version and its relatively high system requirements may or may not be a contributing factor in its sales numbers.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

do offer a lot.
Yet if you truly want "Best of the best" in the graphical department, PC is your home. And I still argue that M+KB combination is superior to pad controls.
This is the natural ebb and flow of technology. At the start of every generation, console hardware is always very competitive with PC hardware. However, as time goes on, it starts to show its age, since it cannot be upgraded in the same way that a PC's hardware can be.
Either way, we all owe PC gaming a debt of gratitude. Those graphics chips we all love in our PS3s and 360s wouldn't have been possible without the constant competition in the PC gaming industry. Let's all hope that rampant piracy doesn't completely kill PC gaming off, or we'll start to see much slower development on the graphics side of gaming.
