Boss Dungeon's Polly Dawn dissects and discusses the right mindset to approach Demon's Souls and Dark Souls with in order to truly master the game.

Sammy: "Sony disastrously and disgracefully shuttered Texas-based fan favourite Bluepoint yesterday. The long-time PS Studios partner never got a chance to ship a game under its new parent company.
This news hit me particularly hard because I believe it reflects the erosion of once-great PlayStation management that I think we’ve all been feeling for quite some time."
How was this allowed to happen? A studio know for excellent remakes and remasters were put on a GOW live service game? Something nobody wanted? There are so many other, more interesting projects, for me they were the prime studio who should have remastered or remade Bloodborne, what an absolute waste, I'm really annoyed about this.
Hulst should have followed Jim Ryan out the door, especially after his failed concord brainchild, execs really do only fail upwards.
You say "no body wanted" but we don't actually know if the Devs were the ones to pitch it. For all we know
If that was the case you would have thought Sony would have told Bluepoint no & had them make the God Of War trilogy remake instead while having Santa Monica Studios concentrate on the next God Of War & what ever else they're working on. A Bloodborne remake/remaster would have definitely printed Sony millions. It seems the upper management doesn't care what the fans think including them making awful business decisions. To take Bluepoint under their wing for 5 years & dismantle them is crazy work, Sony should have auctioned Bluepoint off to to a company that could really use them.
If the really did pitch it then they would have wanted their own IP for being a brand new game, not using someone else’s IP when it’s not a remake this time.
I mean I guess, but doubt that a small team of 70 wanted to do a live service game, I don't buy it personally, but we'll never 100% know.
i think you are half right. sony became hyper-focused on live service games and given that, studios would then pitch live service games because those projects were the most likely to be greenlit by the higher ups. now, as for what the hell bluepoint was working on since their god of war game was cancelled is beyond me. it's just increasingly frustrating when sony just announced a god of remake which is still in its infancy when bluepoint could have been working on it for years and likely would have shipped it by now.
We had a god of war mp in the past and it didn’t do well back then with less competition so doubtful people wanted a live service game especially from devs that made some top tier remakes
Copium like this is the reason they're in this position. Sony could do no wrong and when something did go wrong, it's never the corporate suits at sony who are to blame.....its either: devs bad or ms/phil spencer bad while their own backyard is on fire. This is the result of not caring what your fav company does just because another company does (way) worse and automatically condoning everything. I hope they can turn it around without having to fuck over their customers more because especially some of the games on ps1 through ps3 were absolutely amazing.
Can't really say im surprised it's gotten to this point although I didn't expect them to close Bluepoint who has always delivered stellar work.
The devs didn’t pitch it. It’s already been discussed publicly. They had literally just started on a new undisclosed project they were still in the initial ideas phase when they were asked to stop and do GoW instead.
Everyone keeps asking for a Bloodborne remaster or remake — a game that genuinely deserves preservation and modernization. Instead, we got a remake of The Last of Us and then a remaster of The Last of Us Part II, both of which were already recent and widely available. That decision feels tone-deaf. It’s hard not to question priorities when so many legacy titles are untouched.
Bluepoint built its reputation on honoring PlayStation’s history. They were masters at remakes and remasters. There is an entire catalog — from PS1, PS2, and PS3 eras — that fans would celebrate. Yet instead of leveraging that strength, they were redirected toward live service ambitions. Six years later, there’s nothing to show, and now the studio is gone. That’s not just disappointing — it feels like wasted potential.
Sony Bend is another example. Days Gone 2 wasn’t greenlit, and the studio was reportedly shifted toward live service. Years later, that project was canceled, and they’re back at square one. That’s years of development time lost in a generation that already feels light on first-party output.
What’s even more concerning is the broader shift. PlayStation used to thrive on bold, risk-taking single-player projects and strong Japanese creative influence. Now the strategy appears more Western-focused and heavily driven by the live service model — where multiple failures are acceptable as long as one becomes a breakout success.
Competition used to push Sony to take creative risks. The PS3 vs. Xbox 360 era forced innovation. Today, Xbox has shifted direction, Nintendo operates independently in its own lane, and Sony doesn’t feel the same competitive pressure. Without that tension, the urgency to push boundaries seems diminished.
The frustration many fans feel isn’t just about one remake or one canceled project — it’s about a sense that PlayStation’s identity is drifting. And while loyalty is natural, defending every decision without criticism doesn’t help the platform grow.
It’s not anger because we hate PlayStation. It’s frustration because we care about what it used to represent

These people aren't walking through the doors anymore
It does concern me that they think closing amazing studios like Bluepoint and Japan Studios is smart.
I'm honestly surprised Media Molecule is still around. They put out what 1 game in the past 10+ years? I personally wasn't interested in Dreams, so they have been a wash for me since the PS3 era. Are they working on a new game? What are they doing?
I immediately recalled when they shut down Japan Studio. I don’t understand why any studio would agree to be acquired by Sony, EA, or Microsoft with their history of studio closures.
Frustrating news, for sure. Hulst is on a major losing streak. Baffling decisions....
They could of let them do a Remakes of Sly, Jak and Daxter maybe the old Killzone games. Ported Demon Souls to other platforms. Steady revenue for growth becoming a 70 team to 100+ eventually.
Precisely! PlayStation have a rich back catalogue that is screaming out for a talented team like those at Bluepoint to work their magic upon.
Such wasted potential. And a terrible thing to happen to those talented workers at Bluepoint.
Demon's Souls remake was the gateway to FromSoft games for me. I'd fully beaten Bloodborne, but had struggled to get into Dark Souls. Demon's Souls - as a launch title - showed me how these games are meant to be played.
As a PS Fan and someone that looks to new exsperiences not rehashing old ones I can feel for the devs but it does not move the needle as far as getting new video games.
I'm not concerned I'm pissed! i never thought PlayStation would suck this much so suddenly
I wouldn't say it was sudden, they have been slowly declining since early-ish days of the PS5, but I also thought we'd never see the sad state Playstation is in.
I am so sad, when they first announced that they are building their own game, I was like "Yes!! They have more then earned it!"... Sigh...
I love PlayStation but PS5 era Sony is so bad... Please don't destroy the whole brand... -_-
Boycott Playstation. Nothing will hurt Sony more then people not buying their consoles. The best way to get a companies attention and to hurt them badly is not buying from them.
too bad Sony's loyalists are too busy plugging their ears with their fingers and pretending that since Sony is outselling the competition they're clearly not hemorrhaging money
Sony should fail. Its what they deserve for shit choices. They lost me as a customer.
Everybody complained about how many remakes Sony made so they close the studio that makes the remakes and everybody complains, make it make sense. Bluepoint was not Rockstar
It does make sense
"Everybody " was not complaining, some people were
The Internet has a variety of people with different opinions, how is that difficult to understand? Like seriously?
Tbh I'm not anymore
Ps studios games have been a huge disappointment to me for years now
Not saying i want them shut down ofc, just saying
i think that Sony should atleast put each and everyone in the different studios they own, so that no one has to fear for their livelihood
Retro studios is hiring right now, and their areas are close together. I hope the 70+ employees will go there.
Super lame live service push caused this.
Hopefully they have learned live service is a massive gamble. They should have been working Bloodborne remaster or reviving old franchises which they had skills for.

Sony Group Corp. is shutting down Bluepoint Games, the PlayStation subsidiary responsible for developing remakes of video games such as Demon’s Souls.
Roughly 70 employees will lose their jobs amid the studio closure, a PlayStation spokesperson said, writing in a statement that the decision was made “following a recent business review.” Bluepoint will officially shutter next month.
They’d been working on a God of War GaaS game that got shut down I think. Had been hoping they would be taking the lead on the remake of the original trilogy as their next project instead.
damn, loved their work on the Uncharted series remasters. That would have been great as I missed the earlier GoW entries.
Same. I figured they may have created some useful assets while working on the scrapped GaaS game that could have been transferred for use in the trilogy remake. Such a shame, Bluepoint did a phenomenal job with the Demon Souls remake. A transition to the GoW remake seemed like a perfect match for their talent.
The only reason Sony would've shut down Bluepoint is because it's not profitable. But the reason it's not profitable is because the studio has spent years working on a GaaS game that wasn't released - that's not its fault!
With a ready made accomplished team Sony could've had them work on anything, how short-sighted to dismantle them. This move is a bad move from the highest level of management and accountants and it's a worrying signal that behind the scenes PlayStation is being mismanaged.
God damnit Sony! These guys are so talented and you guys criminally misused them! And for what? Jim Ryan's crazy GAAS future that was hated by gamers from the get go and never materialized??
I hope that guy rot in gaming hell for what he has done but why didn't Sony put them onto another remake project? They are very good at that and whatever they come up with will surely sell, come on! Why the sudden closure? This sucks balls!
I am very worried about Bend Studio now.
DAMN... I say we stick it to Sony and all jump ship to Xbox.
/s
Yes, that was a joke. What isn't a joke is where will these guys go now? They are really talented at remaking games. So any publisher would be wise to scoop them up. Lord knows there are tons of quality games from years gone by that could use a bit of modern TLC and re-introduced to new generations of players.
Nintendo has a ton of old games that could use remakes fingers crossed
@lightning pretty rare for Nintendo to shut studios down
Uuh no Nintendo would turn then into a Nintendo retro shop reselling remastered games for 60 or 70$. MS? Would shut them down also. None of these companies are your freakin friends.
There’s a impostor among us 🤣
With what I’m going to say I want you to understand first that I’m raging inside but I also understand that there is a lot that don’t get published about studios closures like monetary burdens, management issues, quality issues, are some of the one that come to mind.
I wish the best for those that lost their jobs and hope that Sony compensate them more than appropriately.and they get hired fast by other developers.
Go f*** yourself Sony
Your stupid management are the ones who made them waste years on a God of War live service title only to cancel it.
This is insane, they’ve really screwed up here, what the actual f*** man.
Sony has been sabotaging themselves for the whole generation. their focus on live service has been an absolute disaster for everyone involved, the gamers, the studios, the investors. where are the solo games? what did Bluepoint do to deserve this? they done a brilliant job remastering and remaking games for sony and this is how sony treat them? after years wasted for a crap GOW live service nobody wanted.
man, fuck sony. they're so dumb it's incredible.
I've been hardcore PlayStation since the PS1 but man If Xbox was legitimately competitive and not just giving their games away I might consider switching hell Nintendos been more appealing than Sony lately at least they are putting games out
This live service push has killed so much of my hype for Sony this gen
"Sony has been sabotaging themselves for the whole generation. their focus on live service has been an absolute disaster for everyone involved"
This is it. This is why you stick to what you are good at. If a studio themselves have a genuine interest in live service, sure let them have at it, but to push it on to developers is exactly how not to handle a studio.
Like you said BluePoint didn't do anything to deserve this. It was Sony's mismanagement of forcing them to do something that isn't their strength that led to the closure. They have done nothing but great things till the live service push and would still be here had it not been for that.
How much money have they lost since this live service push? So much wasted time and money on cancelled games and failures as a result.
@Prof
Not sure what you mean. Ever since Xbox started PS fanboys been wanting Xbox gone. They barely competing anymore this is what it looks like now. Been telling ppl for years but fanboys just make stupid excuses. So welcome to the outcome.
Seriously fuck Sony. People in charge of making the decision to push GAAS are all safe but the actual developers who had no say are all fired. Great work Jimbo/Herman!!
I think we can sadly say that we are witnessing the PlayStation fortress collapse before our eyes..
@Profchaos you sound dumb as Hell. What are you like 12? What do you mean by you might consider switching? For what reason can’t your grown ass buy whatever console you want? No one has forced you to be a loyalists to a single platform but yourself.
Grow up bro. All jokes aside.
Respect for being consistent on this take. Not sure why sony has been self-destructing since 2020
This really sucks they couldve did Socom remaster or live service instead of milking gow to get shut down this sucks a good studio.
I was starting to lose the feel for gaming the past 5 years but this just made it worse.
Everything about their closure is so BS.
Bought them out after a successful string of high quality remakes/remasters.
Forced them to make a GaaS for 4ish years only to cancel it.
Wasted another full year of their lives dangling a green light just beyond their reach.
What the hell can these developers show now? Half a decade of their careers - down the drain
oh shit, ive always liked the studio. such a big shame. sucks
they made some of my fav games. well, i mean all of their games were really good actually.
its so weird. like ever since covid, gaming in general felt more like a PR movement than anything else.
loads of games that came on the market broken, all this weird bickering of devs, the empty promises, the micro transaction bs.
madness.
Are you serious!? WTF!? this is so messed up, literally everything they did was a success so why? Ugh this just hit me hard man 😞
Buy studio best in their field
Stick them on god of war live service for 5 years
Cancel it
Close studio
Thanks sony
Sony still on a roll I see….
Surely at some point the blatency of how poorly it’s been managed since the change in personnel at the top can no longer be ignored and accepted.
At this point it’s pretty clear that everybody needs to go. They all need replacing. Including the financial team paying them all their massive bonuses while they destroy the company.
Ok, this is it. I'm f***ing done with Sony. They literally didn't make a good choice in 5 years.
What studio are they closing next? Naughty Dog? I wouldn't be surprised.
Well if nobody buys the spin off Horizon game who knows what it'll look like for GG in the future.
No I'm not joking either. Ok look, making third person narrative actions games are expensive and the cost for those projects are getting higher and higher, each and every generation. Making LS is generally less expensive with higher potential. Issue is this industry is littered with LS making your game hard to stand out and ppl are rejecting LS (though I don't think that's right, that's for another topic) Sony simply can't keep making big huge AAA Uncharted games every other year like they did last gen. It worked for them yes clearly and definitely. It's just the cost and return on investment is way bigger now. Even Ghost Of Yotei had the same Budget as the first. The game did very well and made the studio money. The game wasn't a HUGE step forward from the first one but it was still a great game.
Anyway it's the cost of those third person AAA games being way too expensive and take long too make and Sony having to do something to offset those high costs by making LS or making smaller experience games.
That's probably what it is. Sony wants its own money printing machine aka Fortnite because single player games just don't sell enough to make up the money invested plus profits.
For now. If public ire against Sony remains high, Intergalactic could underperform.
At that point, I doubt they're safe. They got a bit of a buffer with the Uncharted Collection and HBO's The Last of Us, but I think they're one project away from annihilation.
So the studio behind some of the best remakes and remasters shut down
But we're getting a horizon multiplayer garbage
Sony is getting harder and harder to tolerate, and 99% of my gaming has been on ps consoles since I got my ps3 in 2010
That fucking sucks. Sony is remaking the old GOW games, why not give it to them? Santa Monica can worl on the main line game
Dear lord, wtf is sony doing? SOTC and Demons souls remakes were amazing. I'd guess key devs left leaving a skeleton left...
This is a shocking disgrace, the Ryan and Hulst era won't be remembered fondly with their crappy live service push. They gave use the excellent SOTC and Demons Souls remake, surely they could have at least been put on a Bloodborne remake or remaster? But they get put on GOW live service slop?
Absolutely dreadful.
Are you f****** kidding me!
Demon’s Souls remake is still 1 of the best playing & looking games this gen!
Business review my ass, you’re blowing it.
While Bluepoint should never have been made to make a live service anything, as they were best in class at what they did, Sony seem to be incapable of realising they've got IPs better suited to a live service game. Killzone as a PvP centric game. Resistance as a PvPvE game, with inspiration from Resistance 2's co-op. Warhawk. As examples.
Why God of War, and now Horizon? Neither seem suited to a multiplayer game to me, and I can only imagine them being very complicated to make. In fact it shows with that Horizon Hunters Gathering showcase, as they needed to change the style of combat quite heavily from the main games.
Praying for Media Molecule's sake now. Dreams was a failure, and their last successful games were as far back as Tearaway and Littlebigplanet 2. Ironically enough, a Littlebigplanet live service game seems like a great idea. But right now I'm not sure Sony are bright enough to put any of their teams on the right games.
Another live service game takes the team with it. Too bad. Their remakes were awesome.
I wanted demons souls to come to PC. Sony could have done more with Blue point but they decided to go the tw@t route. Small talented team from what I've seen, very sad.
Exactly they had like 70 devs what did Sony seriously expect them to make fortnite 2
Hope they all land somewhere else. Never understood the dumb move to put them on a live service god of war game. Should have immediately put them onto a Demons souls dlc where the 5th arch stone is repaired and the world explored, even could have involved some art designers with From. That would have been fire.
Just the worst era man, i’ve been saying it for the past 6 years. What’s next Sony? You gonna close Team Asobi? Or make them work on a live service game and then close them?
But you know, as long as Naughty Dog who hasn’t made a game in 6 years is alright and safe that’s all that matters right Sony? Oh and Guerrilla Games ofc.. let’s not forget those jokers. F#%k off.
Well, that's the end of my hopes of seeing a Bloodborne remake. Sony and their stupid push for live service games is causing them to lose studios.
I hope they provide the staff at Bluepoint with opportunities within their other studios.
Casual reminder that to the end user, all of these giant corporations are the enemy. Why im always shocked to see fanboys go to war to defend their "company of choice"
Really weird right? First Japan Studio, now Bluepoint? WTF, this is really annoying! I just commented on the other article that it's okay not to release the PS6 yet because I'm still waiting for the games made by Bluepoint for the PS5.
Wow Sony actually got n4g to all agree that this fucking sucks.
Because it does
Dumb
I can't imagine this was Bluepoints fault
Based on word of their God of War LIVE SERVICE game getting canned I would bet highly that it was Playstations dumb choices to make their prestige single player studio to make another Service game is only the fault of the company and it's the talented people who face the consequences.
UGH it's so fucking stupid.
It's like how Microsoft shut down Tengo Gameworks after releasing the very good Hi-fi Rush.
They (Re)make their premier Demon's Souls game for PS5 when there's so few real first party Sony games coming out and they can the studio like this. PS is falling OFF as a long time Sony-Pony
Does this mean no Bloodborne remake/remaster was ever in the works by them I guess.
Sony is full of gaas this generation.
Thanks Bluepoint, you remade best games I've ever played.
Sony garbage pushing Horizon trash and live service instead of peak gaming talent.
Unbelievable!
What a stupid decision from Sony wow. Bluepoint is an incredibly talented studio! We could have had a remake of Legend of Dragoon, or something else but noooo Sony wanted live service God of War? What the hell
I've noticed that before, and I've been saying it here on the boards. But many people are getting angry.
They were, but at this point, not so much.
All the people who made PlayStation awesome have left, and just like every other business, it's been reduced to maximizing profits. It's the same with Nintendo all the people who formed it and cared about the business are gone. Now it's just businessmen looking to maximize profits.
But to be fair, this direction, at least in gaming, was started by Microsoft. They have always been about money, from DLC to charging for online, it began with them and everyone else had to follow or get left behind.
The only reason I bought PS5 during launch is because of their game. For me until this day, Demon's Souls is one of the best looking PS5 exclusive. This is really a very sad news.
This is really terrible news. Arguably, Demon's Souls remake is still one of, if not the best looking games on PS5. I know everyone is talking about the GOW GaaS that was cancelled but they have been a absolute powerhouse since they were acquired in 2021. Just look at all the ports and support they've completed since. I'm hopeful they moved a good portion of these folks into a internal port team but still, 70 talented people getting canned sucks. Such fondness for either remakes/remasters...
This Generation of consoles has been nothing but folly after folly.
Why shut Bluepoint down? Why not try auctioning the company off to potential buyers first? A company of Bluepoint's expertise still has much to offer in the gaming industry (especially when we're talking remake/remasters).
This is why Nintendo deserves credit. Out of the big three (themselves, along with Sony and MS) they very seldomly close studios. Especially those of the talents of a Bluepoint Games.
Sony, Microsoft, and EA - what is the difference anymore?
Sony is just another soulless corporation chasing money. Record setting profits this generation yet Sony must keep closing good studios.
They just acquired it in 2021, it's only been five years, why do they need to close it? Bluepoint was doing fine as an independent, why did Sony buy it?
Sony essentially acquired an entire studio specializing in remasters, only to shut it down without a single game to show for it, as they redirected the team to work on a live service project.
Again, since the acquisition, not one game has been released.
They did make Demons Souls at the beginning of the generation, but nothing else that I’m aware.
And because of Demons Souls Remake that I bought a PS5 from scalper worth $700 because I am unlucky enough to secure a pre-order slot for 3 months!
Ok this is bad, HOWEVER, we gotta realize that these teams have to make good, well received games. When a team has built up several wins, which equals income, then they build up a barrier. You can afford a miss or two depending on the size of the game and money invested. Bluepoint has been nothing but remakes and that’s fine, but when you spend years making a NEW title and it is off base to the point of unsalvagable… that money more has no way of being recouped.
This isn’t the golden age of gaming with companies popping up everywhere and games galore. Games cost a LOT now. It’s riskier than ever to pour resources into a dud. I think the only way to get us back to as close to the golden age where companies could afford to take more risk, is by spending more money. Buying more games. Stop crapping on everything and being open minded to more like people were back in the day. Not to age myself, but if I people were selective back then like they are now, gaming wouldn’t be nearly where it is today. I’d have missed out on bangers I’d have NEVER tried. Like Skate or die, Road Rash, or Zany Golf for example. It was also different because hell, you could trade games.
Anyway, obviously things exist that are counter intuitive to that, but yeah. Sony probably would have took the chance on whatever their game WAS because it looked like a Low B, High C game if they thought we would take the risk and try it, let alone love it. Instead, anything under an A can get you canned.
Anyway, sorry for the wall of text and BUY MORE GAMES!
as a PS gamer since the jump.... Fuuuuu you PS and a double guns blazing F you to management!! This the type of studio you take advantage of, not shut down. What kind of inept bs is this.
Gutted. Such a great studio undeserving of this. And ironically, this occurs at the heel of Sony annoucing a strategy of increasing software to offset the price increases cause by the ram shortage.
Too bad the studio was made to work on a fruitless live service project to years. A Blue Point remaster of Bloodborne would have printed money.
Like I said before, people keep thinking console sales are the cure for everything. This is mismanagement. No different than the other companies that do it. This is turning out to be Sony's worst generation. Lots of humble pie being eaten right now.
Was it worth it Sony? Man, I’m so glad Jim Ryan left, but I hate the fallout from his sh*t run with this Gen.
Jim Ryan and Hermen Hulst truly are the Don Mattrick and Phil Spencer of Playstation.
This is idiotic of Sony to do. All they had to do was have them do another remake/remaster instead of shoving another GaaS game onto them. This will be a tremendous loss for them as they never put out a bad game.
When a publisher flat-out refuses to see the forest for the trees. Easy fix from my perspective - Vote with your wallets, people. Drop your PSN subscriptions and boycott any spending that benefits Sony's bottom line.
Sony clearly doesn't give a s*** what its fans want. They have completely ignored years of consistent calls for a Bloodborne remake while sidelining Bend Studio and a Days Gone sequel, all the while producing very few brand-new and noteworthy first-party titles throughout the PS5 generation. This is a fact.
your beloved company is just as shit as the others in the industry. Maybe the rose tinted glasses are coming off now and the ponies can finally see what's been in front of them all this time
That's a damn shame! Hopefully they survive this & go back to remastering great games from the past for other companies or making new games, whatever their heart desires.
PlayStation are now run by idiots that only cared only numbers and graphs on the screen while agenda pushing studios and execs gets to keep their jobs.
You fools sacked the wrong studio.
Sony taking a page out of Microsoft's book: follow a good showing with devastating news.
I wasn't planning to buy PS6, and now I'm sure I'm not buying PS6.
I cannot stand a corporation screwing the people because execs lead them off a cliff chasing bullshit trends.
PlayStation deserves all the smoke for this spectacular f***-up. Bluepoint was a great studio.
Stuff the PlayStation brand. What a fall from grace.
Complete mismanagement of their studios.
That’s an incredibly bad decision from Sony. Bluepoint have never missed the mark! Unbelievable.
That is fucking wild. Demon's Souls was an absolutely incredible remake, what a safe pair of hands for any future remakes they could have released and they shutter the studio?! I hope all the staff are being absorbed into another studio because there is literally no justification to lose so much obvious talent.
Banging out old and new games then charging up to £70 and in some cases, over £70, it's no wonder game sales are at their lowest ever level and studios are closed down. Five minutes after the PS5 launched, the PS5 Pro was released, then there's talk about the PS6. Gaming is in one big mess and there's going to be a crash, the last one being in 1983, until Nintendo popped out the NES.
This isn't going to go over well. Hopefully all those effected are able to find new jobs quickly.
Sony closing every good studio like always. Instead we receive Tsushima legends/Horizon online and Marathon the game with Returnal 2 dlc - Saros for 80€
The business is the business. It's not a one company thing. Unfortunately for board level members - they do not care about gamers they care about revenue and taking the steps to stay on top.
Sony wants to fail and I say let them since there's no real reason to buy a.PlayStation going forward in this sewer market of content
Wow good job Sony! You’re really “killing it” hey. Guess I shouldn’t have sold my Ps5 - guess I’m missing out on all those amazing studio closures. Well done Herman “good job Bluepoint you’re fired” Hulst
From Demons Souls remake to closure. A 92% on Metacritic and then reduced to nothing. The only reason why Bluepoint “chose” to do a GOW live service game, was to appease the airhead executives at Sony to get funding for a new game. Herman Loser should have known giving a studio a live service game when their bread and butter is doing top quality remakes, would result in failure. But the inadvertent presure put on a studio like Bluepoint due to the publisher chasing the live service carrot ultimately resulted in its closure.
Now you could say Bluepoint made the choice to develop GOW live service. But the reality is they were essentially forced to do it, despite probably wanting to take a shot at it. Bluepoint probably felt the pressure to latch onto the direction the publisher was moving in, to secure funding for a project. It’s 10000% on Sony and Herman Loser for gutting a high quality studio.
Insult to injury: Herman Loser spared the likes of Fairgame$, Bungie, and that God awful woke f***ing trash Horizon Hunter gathering. Geee amazing
Sony in its current form does not GIVE AF about the core PlayStation gamer. I mean FFS, Microsoft is green lighting single player franchises and staying true to its core IP and core fan base FAR BETTER than Sony currently and that is saying a lot
