Its missing my biggest PS3 exclusive disappointment. Haze......*shudder*

Ares84HU4502d ago

Hannah Montana is not on that list??? FAIL!!!!

Also, there are a lot worst games than Lair. Lair was actually fun. Well, at least I enjoyed it.

Bathyj4502d ago

Same. The controls aren't that bad and they patched it too. The game was very pretty and there weren't (still aren't) many games like it. Lair was just an easy whipping post for all the early hate Ps3 received, not nearly as bad as it was made out. Same goes for Haze, it was kind of uninspired and boring but still very playable.

Knushwood Butt4502d ago

It's funny how a few games managed to escape that whipping.

Like Heavenly Sword. It somehow came away fairly unscathed.

I personally quite enjoyed Genji: Days of the Blade (remember that one?!). Aside from the giant enemy crabs and real time weapon changing, it was actually pretty good, and I don't remember having many issues with the fixed camera, which got a ton of hate at the time.

Shame that the hate for that game killed the franchise.

FamilyGuy4502d ago

^ Are you saying you liked Genji more than Heavenly Sword? O.o

Kran4502d ago

I'm guessing those 9 games are the tags...

well... thanks for letting me know.

sephiroth4204502d ago

im gonna stick up for the family guy game, im playing through it now on pc and its not that shit, not as shit as say dbz:ut or brink.

theshredded4502d ago

LAIR????really?!!that was a very good game imo
aliens and sonic were mediocre but not awful
some others were fun games

Kivespussi4502d ago

Aliens was awful. Terrible to be precise. Only thing that's good about it is that it gives you good laughs because the AI is so dumb. That's pretty much it.

SEGA Believes Not Catering to ‘Western Tastes’ Helped Sonic Music Go Global

In an interview, SEGA Sound Team lead composer Tomoya Ohtani revealed that Sonic’s global music success didn’t come from chasing trends overseas.

I think this is how Japanese devs need to think. Catering to the west is a terrible idea. I personally, seek out Japanese developed games because they bring a unique experience to gaming. They just stand out more that way.

Eonjay65d ago (Edited 65d ago )

What do you mean when you say this is how they 'need to think'. I understand the idea of wanting to do them without worrying about Western sensibilities but I also think a Japanese dev can do whatever the hell they want. They don't have to 'think' the way some westerner in a forum says they have to think. You think you are giving someone a compliment but you are really being weird. Its not about who you are but what you do. Last year's GOTY was a western studio that made a JRPG. You didn't see any Japanese people claim that a studio in a Western company had to think a certain way. And yes, I do understand thats not what you were saying but I think we should always challenge our own viewpoints. Personally I have love the unique experiences that devs in Japan bring and I agree they don't need to cater to Western sensibilities. I only take issue with you saying how they need to think. Thats dangerous.

shinXseijuro64d ago (Edited 64d ago )

What he’s referring to is when a company like Atlus does a game and one of the characters per se ; call one of the other kids a retard , they shouldn’t have to censor the final product because of snowflakes all the way in America that are constantly ranting on twitter . None of these folks are real fans and only look for stuff to cry about . If you start pandering too much they end up taking more than a leg and an arm . Japanese humour is so funny but I hate when it’s censored because of “ western sensibilities “

jwillj2k464d ago

Everyone understood the meaning behind the message but you. “I think” you need to go to the mirror, look yourself in the eyes call yourself an idiot sandwich.

Profchaos65d ago

The sonic music is iconic the mega drive games were some of the best on the system but i wouldn't say they were free of western influence especially since 3 was composed in part by Michael Jackson

But honestly most of the crush 40 soundtrack music lives in my head rent free

Flenter65d ago

Sonic 2 Emerald Hill ❤️

drizzom64d ago

Please. Doesn't hold a candle to Chemical Plant Zone.

Stopac65d ago

Uhhh that's a strange thing for him to say. Even in the interview he admits to listening to a lot of western music.

NotoriousWhiz65d ago

Inspiration and trend chasing are not the same thing.

Eonjay65d ago

I think its strange that the topic of Western catering comes up with Sonic at all. Sometimes things just are what they are.

turning point had a really great story / concept... it just was very generic in its game play.

LucasRuinedChildhood868d ago (Edited 868d ago )

Haze is a bad game but Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty makes it seem like a captivating work of art. haha. Fuck that game

Shellshock 2: Blood Trails isn't on this list but it might be the worst game I've ever played. I got it as a present from my mam and when I saw the box, my life flashed before my eyes thinking of the Metacritic score: https://www.metacritic.com/...

I also received Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty as a present from another family member. Bless their hearts for trying but ... oh Lord. My uncle gave my Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time and MGS2 though. 😎

DarXyde868d ago (Edited 868d ago )

Was it really that bad? I recall trying the demo and not liking it, but that's just me not liking FPS games.

People I know who played it and like FPS games mostly came to the conclusion that it has a lot of room for improvement, but it's not nearly as bad as it's made out to be.

Don't know, my opinion on these games should be taken with a grain of salt.

mastershredder868d ago

Oof! yeah, Ride was a huge fumble they tried to market twice.
Haven Fall of the King was dog-shi7-tastic and should be a runner up to some of those.
I'd even nominate Legend of Kay. Heh Haze... there is no excuse for that one (just pretend Haze did not happen).
