If I only had one choice?
The order.

Abash4488d ago

The Order: 1886, it just looks like something that has potential to be amazing. I'll be getting both though, I love TPS games

alexkoepp4488d ago

The Order looks like you'll be playing a Twilight video game lol, Quantum Break for sure

georgeenoob4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

Quantum Break for sure. Game looks amazing, and it's going to be the most story-driven game to ever release.

Army_of_Darkness4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

my choice is based on my console of choice... So the order obviously.

@alex.. twilight?? Really bro?? not sure if there was any vamps with mustaches in that movie to begin with...

@tokwgawa and ALLWRONG

So you guys trying to say anyone who'd take The Order over Quantum Break is bias lol? Then again insert any sony game against any microsoft game, and you two "would start making stuff up to justify why you've have chosen the microsoft game" so I don't see the point you're trying to make. Never understood why people like you guys who have a clear preference act like you guys are the holy grail of objectivity.

Both games look to have great potential. It's not like one game is clearly better than the other. If someone picks The Order over Quantum Break in a must chose one contest is it really that big a deal?

I personally would take The Order if I had to chose one. Doesn't mean that I think Quantum Break doesn't hold promise or that I chose it just because it's a Sony game.

THE ORDER 1886 feels more like a game.

QUANTUM BREAK feels more like a gimmick.

QuickdrawMcgraw4488d ago

A little unfair to have something like this on such a pro Xbox site..

BitbyDeath4488d ago

Vote goes to 'The Order' not cause it is on PS4 but cause it is set in London in the 1800's which not many games do as opposed to a future setting.

sobekflakmonkey4488d ago

I haven't seen enough of The Order: 1886 or Quantum Break to decide which one is better; so far all we've seen from both, is basically cut scenes both studio's made just for the announcement of their titles...

I honestly do not know why this article exists right now, I'm refusing to click the link, and if any of you are actually deciding right now which one is better, you are buffoons, and you are making uneducated decisions.

Gekko364488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

I've just seen both trailers, Quantum Break has a very interesting premise, I'd probably buy it.

The Order 1886 just appears to be a adventure shooter with time travel, looks good although comparing these games seems to be apples and oranges so don't see the point in the comparison. As a bog standard game I'd probably buy it though I doubt it would hold my interest for long.

Though I laughed out loud when I heard her refer to one of the guys as "Galahad". Who ever thought of using knight of the round table names in a game like this needs a hefty kick in the bollocks.

mewhy324488d ago

that's an easy one...the order.

Giul_Xainx4488d ago

The order 1886. One reason... it is set back in time with futuristic guns and werewolves.... actually did we ever see any of the enemies of the game? I'm just glad the imagination for the order is so.... vivid.

Yeah The Order looks like it will be amazing.

The moustaches get my vote (joke)

Quantum Break does aswell but I feel like with all the stuff Remedy and MS are saying about the game is what they (in my opinion) already achieved with Alan Wake. It's like they are resetting their goals and ignoring the fact Alan Wake achieved most of those things. Seriously look at the things they are saying about the game and if you enjoyed Alan Wake for what it was you'll be thinking "...but you did that with Alan Wake why not continue with that". A sequel is to improve on things.

sobekflakmonkey4488d ago

I agree, Alan Wake was an amazing game, I was actually just playing it today on PC, I've beaten it a few times, I love it, a damn shame it didn't sell really well though...but hey, I trust Remedy, they made the first Max Payne, as well as Alan Wake...just hoping this Quantum Break game comes to PC...probs will...

On The Order though, we don't really know a whole lot about it yet, it looks great in the few screens and the short trailer we saw, but I want to see more, I wanna see gameplay and same goes for Quantum Break, so far everything we know and have seen means basically nothing for both titles...

Picnic4488d ago

You're right Foxtrot but I think of Quantum Break as the 'break' that they need to pump up interest- and develop graphical techniques for- Alan Wake 2. So Alan Wake 2 may be better as a result.

if I also owned the X1 I would play buy as they both look very exciting to me.

sinspirit4488d ago

Definitely prefer 1866's art direction. Also, Quantum Break seems like a thriller sensationalist game of just doing a bunch of things. Alan Wake wasn't exactly that great story wise it was just exaggerated quality due to being 360's story-based 1st party title. I don't care for the companies past games when it comes to story. I also have a hate for a lot of things that try and reinvent the concept of "time" and seeing Quantum Break's unrealistic representation adorned with Michael Bay-like events doesn't mix well with me.

AngelicIceDiamond4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

Well The order is gonna be the most chosen game here. But for me personally, I dunno its tough.

It's not as easy you guys are making it.

That why for me its both.

Great gaming is great gaming. And that's what I do. Can't tell me to choose 1 over the other when I clearly wanna play both.

ABizzel14488d ago

Not enough info on either of these games to make a choice.

The only choice you can make is if you only have one console then you have to get that. I'm looking forward to seeing more from both of these IP's.

4488d ago
Edsword4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

Isn't Quantum Break like Heavy Rain and Alan Wake? I'm not sure what the genre is called. I hate those games thogh, they bore me to death with absolutely no gameplay. They are more of an interactive storybook than games. So for me, The Order by a wide, wide margin.

Sorry, I read the article and it seems I'm mistaken. It's more like Max Payne I guess. Still, I like the setting and the potential of The Order more at this point. Ready at Dawn has not made a lot of games though and most for handhelds, so this will be a proving ground for them. That's actually another reason I'm excited about The Order, if RAD turns out to be another Naughty Dog, well then, that would be really good news for Sony.

peowpeow4488d ago

What? Alan Wake had actual ganeplay

Ausbo4488d ago

im sure both will be great. With that said, Remedy has the better pedigree.

quaneylfc4488d ago

Remedy are Microsoft's naughty dog so quantum break wins everytime.

quaneylfc4488d ago

Remedy are Microsoft's naughty dog so quantum break wins every time.

JustPlay44488d ago

No, remedy has only made 3 games so far not counting Qb and all them are ok at best Alan wake was good but not great and non of there old games are exclusives

Christopher4488d ago

Just wanted to say: what a lame article. Two games not out and not even comparable in style and gameplay.

JustPlay44488d ago

For me The Order for sure it look right good to me and I trust the devs

Qb like boring because most the stuff likes it down before and I bet there will be a lot of bullet time/slow motion like max payne

Hercules1894488d ago

How many games lets you see all the choices that you've made. This just proves how many Sonyfantards are on this site.

sinspirit4488d ago

@Hercules189

A LOT of games let you see your choices nowadays. A lot of these games don't have that great of stories either and use this feature to drive hype like it's a new thing.

Why are you so biased? There are a ton of XBox fans on here. Once you start speaking logically and stop responding by insulting others, force-feeding your opinions by telling people why this is better than that, and passing off your assumptions as facts than you might not get so much disagreement.

There are such things as opinions. You like what you like so don't find reasons to latch onto something in order to tell everyone else they're wrong. If you want the honest truth.. Most truly story-driven players don't want something like Quantum Break, as far as we have seen from it. It looks like a very average story with a lot of average everything mixed together with great graphics in order to seem amazing, when behind it all it is, again, average. I could be wrong.. But we both know just as much as each other.

The Order has a richer setting and allows more creativity and already established some of the main characters. Little of the story is known.

Quantum Break features a generic time-based mechanic and is completely built around it, but it is an extremely false representation of how time works. It's basically a thriller movie in the summer.

I'm sorry but a short and good story, and I'm assuming this is another good Story from a Sony studio, is better than a bunch of okay stories of one big plot. Until the game comes out and shows better plot than that then I wouldn't talk.

The Order has my interest more. I'm getting both anyways. I never miss experiences i want to enjoy.

Saito4488d ago

Disagrees....are you hurt?

Neoninja4488d ago

I really need to see more of both to make a proper decision if I could only pick one, but as of right now it would be Quantum Break. Chances are I'll get both though depending on gameplay.

Thatguy-3104488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

The Order. The atmosphere in that game is great and just looks amazing and immersive. Then throw in human hybrids and special weapons and we're guarantee a good time. I honestly can't wait to see battles between the human hybrids in the foggy streets of London.

Manic20144488d ago

Both game concepts are interesting, Although need to see more to make a decision. As of now Quantum Break's story and concept seem's to be very ambitious but a studio like remedy can pull it off the in game trailer looked awesome. The screenshots of Order, look incredible, at so did the trailer.

Before Control Resonant launches, you need to play Remedy's mind-bending Quantum Break, one of the best third-person shooters around.

The Order: 1886 Sequel Would Have Featured Larger-Scale Battles & Multiplayer

I missed it when games use to have a multiplayer to them.
Hope Sony revives the game at one point

KyRo356d ago

Killzone, Resistance, Uncharted, TLOU, Motorstorm. Great times. Its a shame how far they've fallen this generation

Muigi356d ago

Oh they still do…its just the whole game now 😂.

-Foxtrot357d ago

Why add multiplayer when the single player (despite enjoying it for what it was) had flaws?

You'd work out the issues with how you craft the single player then once you’ve perfected it do multiplayer after.

RaidenBlack356d ago

https://www.videogameschron...
"Two sequels were planned for the franchise, The Order 1891 and The Order 1899. While the third game was never in development, Weerasuriya says he had planned where the story of the franchise was planned to go, if he had been able to develop the full trilogy."
...
Alas, we'll also might never get the PC version of 1886, which is currently residing in some dev's hard drive, nearly ready for a release if required.

Charal356d ago

It’s a shame we didn’t gave its chance to this franchise.
Game world was very interesting, and gameplay could have evolved to a major hit with sequels.
Not even speaking about graphics that were way ahead of their time.

Reaper22_356d ago (Edited 356d ago )

If "we" is sony, i agree. I liked the game but it was metacritic that contributed to it's death. It's a shame.

AshleeEmerson356d ago

No, we are "us," the gamers who rated it so low on Metacritic, hurting... Killing its sales. I agree it is a shame. I loved this game.

Charal356d ago

No it is not, it is us has a community which crucified this game, which is happening much too often.

CrimsonWing69356d ago (Edited 356d ago )

I think MP being co-op would’ve been awesome. Essentially, I always viewed this as Sony’s take on the Gears series.

However, it really failed to measure up to what I expected. I definitely saw the potential but there were some things that really bogged it down for me like the forced slow walking segments (which I know was to hide loading), the repetitive warehouse werewolf fights, not enough variety in enemies, oddly we fought more humans than Darkstalkers, and the stealth sections were infuriating.

One thing there’s no denying though, this damn game was a looker. Such a shame at the wasted potential.

The Order: 1886, a Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Leo Faria: "After finally playing the now decade-old The Order: 1886, what do I think about it? Is it really worthy of all the hate it has received over the past decade? Or is it some kind of hidden gem? I honestly think it falls somewhere in the middle. I loved the setting, the story is initially fine, the combat isn’t half-bad, and the potential for some awesome world building was there. It was all bogged down by too much ambition against a tight deadline, as well as poor marketing. As a result, it’s short, full of plotholes, infested with QTEs, and not exactly memorable as a whole. As a game you can grab for less than ten bucks today, I absolutely think it’s worth checking out. It’s one hell of a wasted potential, but for such a discount, I had some fun with it, and I’m sure you will too."

Great setting, great graphics, even decent gun play, but what a trash of a game. The fuck were these people thinking? We could've had something like an Alan Wake 2 meets Mass Effect 2 style game. With investigations, creepy locations to uncover and explore, people to talk to and even recruit, clues to uncover and connect, monsters to slay, side quests to get lost in, and a more expansive lore to go with it.

Instead we got a shitty AAAAAAAAA Third Person Pew Pew snoozfest. Awesome.

_SilverHawk_453d ago

The order 1886 was one of the best games I played on ps4. Within a top 5 best ps4 games I'd put the last of us 2, the order 1886, days gone, horizon zero dawn and God of war.

SimpleSlave453d ago

"The order 1886 was one of the best games I played on ps4. Within a top 5 best ps4 games..."

Jesus H. Christ, bud. You just sound like a Sony apologist. What the fuck? Anyways. Good luck with that or whatever.

coolbeans453d ago

God. The "what could've been" you're describing would've been way better than just being the most empty cinematic shooter slop of that generation.

SimpleSlave453d ago

Right? I mean, I can understand people enjoying this thing ironically. Knowing that it sucks but still enjoying it for what it is. I get that. That's fine. We all have our guilty pleasure no doubt. But to come here and actually pretend that this is a top 5 PS4 game? Wow!

To pretend that this barely there game is anything more than an "empty cinematic shooter slop of that generation," as you said, is beyond ridiculous. But I guess Self-Awareness is some expensive ass DLC still.

Espangerish452d ago

I really enjoyed this game and also think it was one of the best PS4 games. It’s weird to me that this makes you so angry. I’m not a Sony fan at all by the way, very much pc player.

SimpleSlave452d ago

"and also think it was one of the best PS4 games"
"I’m not a Sony fan at all by the way, very much pc player."

Yeah, OK. You want to lie to yourself? You do you, bud. But like I said to the other Sony apologist, "good luck with that or whatever."

-Foxtrot452d ago

Jesus, it had some flaws but you're acting like it was unplayable.

It built a foundation, a rocky one but a sequel is where they could have refined things.

Personally my only issue is I feel like the "Gears of War" like over the shoulder gameplay, especially getting into cover and the like didn't really fit the game as much. In Gears you understand that kind of gameplay because they are wearing super heavy amour and guns but in the Order these guys are super human, they should feel more of a breeze to control, easily jumping over things and being allowed to climb whatever similar to Uncharted.

Im back again to simp for The Order, if ya like games well grounded in their reality with consistency in everything it does then I recommend it if ya haven't played it. Play it thru emulation or on your PS it don't matter just play it.

1nsomniac453d ago (Edited 453d ago )

A great game run down by the media for it's price vs length - Which was understandable, but it shouldn't of been the be all and end all.

At the right price this was a great game & deserved a sequel!

thorstein453d ago

Exactly. What a weird metric that suddenly was important and then, within a few months, no longer mattered.

andy85453d ago

I enjoyed this. I think the complaints were the length if I remember. Nothing wrong with a short good game, at least to physical copy owners 😅

Rebel_Scum453d ago

Put the thing on PS plus already!
