Nope. They don't conflict because they're on different platforms. If there was any overlap, then they would, but there's not.

PS owners will buy Infamous: SS.

Xbox owners will buy Titanfall.

I agree it shouldn't, the only thing that would effect it is marketing. I still don't see that being much of an issue as these games won't be competing against eachother on the same platforms. Not sure I agree with this authors view at all here.

- Different consoles
- completely different genres
- one is completely online; one is completely SP
- one has an established fanbase; one is a new IP

These games will compete, MS and EA will be marketing the hell out of TF, and Sony already has a marketing campaign planned for Infamous Second Son. But one thing is for sure, there is a hype surrounding both that's at a fever pitch, and considering that the luster of launch software has over stayed it's welcome, the novelty of launch software has worn off and both Next Gen Console owners will lap up the 2 biggest releases of the new year!

In short expect both infamous and Titan Fall to perform well. People will buy an Xbox One for Titan Fall, and People will buy PS4s for Infamous Second Son.

I suspect that Infamous fans who already made the jump to ps4 will get this game to clear a million units easily, while PS4 users ready for something other than KZ, Knack, BF4, COD and AC4 will eat up Infamous in a heart beat pushing this to 2 million easily on one platform. Titan fall will benefit from 360 users who don't have $500 to upgrade, XBO users who are over Ryse, Forza, and DR3, and from PS fanboys or users who want TF on PC.

It'll be a great month for Both Sony and MS and we'll get an accurate read on how the market interests are for both platforms.

No, anyone who is going to buy Second Son is not going to say F that because Titanfall. Even if they own both consoles. I know people who own both an Titanfall is not stopping any of them. I highly doubt it would for any others either.

There was one like this earlier. The main thing I said was two different games two different systems, and the fact that Titanfall is on PC so you do not need a console to play it will not make PS 4 fan get a XBOX One.

Lots of 360s out there too. TF will sell much better on both PC and 360 than on XB1, especially since the PC version will be the best of the three and none of them will have spectacular graphics because of the old engine being used. I've always questioned TF's "system seller" cred.

As for the article's question, I'd say the gameplay of TF will have more mass appeal since it's very much like Call of Duty, so in that sense I guess Infamous sales could be impacted in the case of people who have both consoles. I'm not a CoD fan myself but clearly many are.

I must be the minority because I'm buying Titanfall right away so I can get in on the multiplayer and waiting on infamous if I even get it since there is no multiplayer. I also don't have a lot of time to play both games right when they cone out close together. If I had more time I would get both. I still might get both anyway but also thinking of metal gear solid which also comes out right then. $10 at best buy in reward points for ore ordering Titanfall which also swayed my decision to put a pre order down for it already.

I dont know if infamous 3 will do crazy numbers. To thus date I dont think the first two sold crazy. I have both consoles im buying tf forsure n if3, but I have lots of money so its not a concern, for less fortunate people they have but one option

Infamous 3 hasn't been announced. And it doesn't have to sell crazy numbers the franchise has sold between 4-7 million units to date, Second Son, coming out 5 months after the PS4 is set to do even better being that it's essentially launch window, but far out enough to have hype for next gen console owners who are over the launch software, the same holds true for XBO owners who are itching for something new to play, since Ryse, DR3, Forza and KI has lost it's novelty.

Both games will put up great numbers, and Infamous will perform much better than it's predecessors because it's on a new platform, and many fans of the franchise has already upgraded to PS4, and the fact that people are ready for the next big exclusive...

How has ki and those games lost their novelty?? Ki is getting bigger by the day despite the bugs, but xbone has a good line up of launch games. But i also can say tf would be awesome to play, a fresh fps to play.

Infamous would be welcomed too, not alot of games to play on ps4. Should be fun

Trust, Both boxes are itching for the new new, launch software has lost it's luster for both, especially for people who got the machines in November. Those who are just getting their console will have plenty to play on both but for the vast majority, both PS4 owners and XBO owners are all looking forward to Infamous:Second Son and Titan Fall and the fact that it's new consoles, and highlighted by both MS and Sony as the new Big thing, owners will want them and buy them since launch software for both for the most part has lists it's novelty.

I don't think so, I personally think Infamous will sell better but only when it comes to the PS4 v Xbone. Obviously Titanfall is on 3 platforms, plenty of people still have a 360 and even more have PC's or Laptops that support the specs including myself so i'll just end up buying Titanfall for my PC. I think Titanfall will sell much better all together but it won't outsell Infamous on next gen consoles.

I'm getting Second son for my PS4, ther is no reason too buy Titan Fall for consoles when it's coming out on PC.

I for one have a PS3/PS4 & PC. If I wanted Titan Fall I would get on PC, rather than get a crappy X1 for 1 game.

I think its silly how these two games are being pitted against each other. Just more food for the fanboys.
That said, im bored at work and fancy riling them up...so here goes :)

I would like to point out that, if Sony fanboy logic is to be believed (and I do mean fanboy not just people who prefer Playstation), every PS4 owner also has a really hi spec pc which will run Titanfall (and evey other X1/PC release) better than Xbone. If that's the case then yes Titanfall may affect sales because if they can only afford one game that month they may pick Titanfall on PC over Second Son.

other than that I really DO NOT see fans of inFamous having any interest in Titanfall.

I'm a fan of infamous and I have a PC but when the low player count was announced Titanfall became irrelevant to me.

will wait for a Titanfall player increase patch, DLC, or Hacked server.

I'll be buying inFamous SS and I'm sure a lot of other PS4 gamers will be buying it. The Fact that it's the first biggest Playstation exclusive to release this year will only push sales even more including the console.

If TitanFall is as good as everyone is making it out to be I'll Buy it for my 360. That's the the reason I think It won't make people buy the xboxone they would've needed to make it a x1 exclusive.

Something I've noticed about owning both PS3 & Xbox 360 is the exclusives for PS are more SP campaign which is something I love especially "The Last Of Us". Whereas Multiplatform and exclusives like "HALO" on xbox are Online.

If this was posed to the Dual console owners then this would be fair, what's funny is that most of the multi next gen console owners are getting both these games, since they both represent each console's offering as 2 of the biggest releases of the year.

Ps4 owners will get Infamous, Xb owners will get TF, and XBO and ps4 owners will get both, while Some PS4 owners Wilk get it on PC.

As far as I'm concerned, I only have a PS4, and I can't get behind a multiplayer only FPS game, especially in the vein of a call of duty... I've ignored all CODs since MW, I'm not interested in it.
