Still love the game, play through it yearly. Great story. Original, exciting, well told, etc, etc. UI was a bit clunky and I hated the mining/driving part of the first game, but it was great.

Hopefully EA treats it with the respect it deserves for ME4 and doesn't Assassin's Creed it to death.

I remember when i was first branching off and trying new games on the 360 (i used to be hooked on CoD 4 and PGR3/4 exclusively) and i had to restart this game so many times before i started to like it. But when i finally started connecting with it, i was hooked, i loved it so much...the depth of the ME universe was/is unreal. I remember just driving on remote planets in the Mako admiring the scenery...it was awesome.

And then you have this, possibly one of my favourite game-scenes of all time : http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Lets raise a toast to a trilogy that rocked!

GarrusVakarian4509d ago (Edited 4509d ago )

Indeed! *Raises glass*

While i loved all 3 games, i wish the following two things would have happened:

1) Drew Karpyshyn stayed on as lead writer.

2) EA had never gotten their dirty, greedy corporate claws in one of my favourite franchises of all time.

Roccetarius4509d ago

The chance of it returning to what ME1 was is slim, so i wouldn't keep up hope. It could've been something else, but the potential was in the wrong hands.

This trilogy for me is hands down my favourite games ever. They defined what video games mean to me. The amount of hours me and my friend would spend speculating on our predictions for me2 and then me3 it was just such a deep rich universe that doesn't come round very often.

Like Lukas said I do wish EA had never bought them. But I think if any of you are following the development of dragon age it seems they are giving them the time they actually need to create something special.

My fingers are crossed this is one of the first games to be put on psnow :-)

This is a franchise I completely missed this gen. I never really got hooked from the trailers I've seen. But now that I've seen the first Mass Effect for 5€ in the european PSStore I decided to pick it up along with some other games I missed this gen.

Mithan4509d ago

You will probably love it, IF you like deep stories. The story pulls you in the most, if your open to that sort of thing and like sci-fi. Some people don't give a crap about a story...

Mutant-Spud4509d ago

I'm still not sure I get all of it and I've played all 3 games, it's really easy to get lost in all the sub plots like the Geth and Krogan stories.
It's also one of the few RPG series that doesn't have any stupid or frivolous plotlines to follow.

I_am_Batman4508d ago

That's good to hear. I really like deep stories.

Mass Effect is a great series. It could be on par with Star wars

Mass Effect - N7 DAY 2025

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."

I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed

Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.

toxic-inferno199d ago

I feel the same way.

I mean, how difficult would it be for them to release SOMETHING of substance? Another short trailer? A couple of proper hints? A short story set during the original trilogy, but focused on fringe characters?

Hopefully they're working so hard on the game that they don't have time. But still, with every passing year and so little to show, the franchise will be slipping further and further from people's minds.

Profchaos199d ago

Yeah agree it's almost a cop out since Dev times are 5 to 10 years just throw out a few seasons instead you get them done in a year

jznrpg199d ago

I still haven’t beat Andromeda. I am waiting for a lull of good games in my backlog

P_Bomb199d ago

So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?

Rebel_Scum199d ago

Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast533d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine533d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast533d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman532d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast532d ago

1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave780d ago (Edited 780d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
