Considering Resogun and Dead Nation are both a blast to play, I don't think I will care about the title, Housemarque has proved themselves to me!

FunAndGun4501d ago

Don't forget SSHD, that game was awesome too! Also the first PS3 game to get trophies.

Bennibop4501d ago

and the first in stereoscopic 3D - rumour is they have been testing VR out on it too.

360ICE4501d ago

Wonder how that would work. Am I looking down on the planet from space?

WipEout HD first person + VR. Now that's where it's at.

Evilsnuggle4500d ago (Edited 4500d ago )

3D Dead nation 2 would be awesome. Sony need to buy Housemarque a.s.p and make them a first party studio

liquidhalos4501d ago

First time i realised the control had a speaker was with that line. Epic, dayumn cool moment

Elda4501d ago

Agreed!...it startled me I thought it came from my phone,I was looking around like what in the hell,LOL!

liquidhalos4501d ago

@elda

I was the same, it was proper trippy. I hope more games take advantage of it, id like multiplayer games to perhaps give the option of having team chat come through it (bad for battery no doubt but it would be cool)

GarrusVakarian4501d ago (Edited 4501d ago )

Human lost.
Multiplier lost.
Overdrive charged.
Bomb.

Armageddon!

That woman has a seductive voice, took me by surprise when it heard her coming out of my controller. Great game too, could definitely do with more levels though.

Sevir4501d ago

"Warning, Human in Danger"

I'm number 64 in the world on master Difficulty. By far the most addictive game I've played on the PS4.

SpiralTear4501d ago

Oddly enough, the first thing I thought of when I heard that woman in Resogun was the "where did you learn to fly" lady from Cybermorph on Jaguar.

XiSasukeUchiha4501d ago

Damn Resogun can't wait for your next game!

DigitalRaptor4501d ago (Edited 4501d ago )

RESOGUN is one of the most addictive games I've ever played, so I'm not surprised it's the highest rated next-gen exclusive.

Housemarque are simply a brilliant studio. Dead Nation 2.. bring it on!

hkgamer4501d ago

nice, maybe this time they would actually sell the game and not give it away on PS+...

iiwii4501d ago

Probably so that they make some money and stay in business. But even if they charged for it, they have been very reasonable on game prices in the past I think.

nategrigs4501d ago

Dunno why you would want to pay for it if you don't have to. I think that you can buy it if you don't have ps+. To be honest, I would gladly pay (prolly up to $15-$20) for Dead Nation 2 or Resogun if I didn't get it for free

FamilyGuy4501d ago

You do realize Sony paid them to have their game on PS+ right? On top of that it raised their noteriety so even more people are likely to buy their next game.

I'm definitely buying any DLC they come out with for resogun, loved it and got the platinum two weeks after it released and kept playing.

DOMination-4501d ago

Not to mention Sony probably financed most or all of the development

BitbyDeath4501d ago

Millions of people have downloaded it, just imagine if Sony even gave them 50 cents per download. No idea how much they do get but the tiniest amount per download is a lot of money now almost every PS4 owner has PS+

hkgamer4499d ago

not sure if sony would give that much per download.
ps plus is great promotions for these publishers/devs.
the dlc will probably make more money for them and the next game alot of people will want to try it.

Sevir4501d ago

But Sony Paid to have it free for a month! They still made a killing, and it's in the top 20 games sold on PSN.

Everyone who doesn't have PS+ still has is able to purchase it.

It's not even on PS+ anymore. They've made money on this already.

Housemarque Reveals It Has No Plans For Live Service Or Free-To-Play Title

Ilari Kuittinen and Gregory Louden of Returnal developer Housemarque have revealed during an interview with Eurogamer at the studio’s 30th anniversary event last week that it has no plans to develop live-service or free-to-play games, “as long as people are buying premium games.”

kpgs361d ago (Edited 361d ago )

Why would they change? That's not where their expertise is.

Redgrave361d ago (Edited 361d ago )

Didn't stop Sony after acquiring Bluepoint, taking them from renowned remaster and remake quality and sticking them on a GoW live service title that never even went anywhere.

I can't speak to what gives Housemarque the ability to be different, but let's be thankful that they are able to do so in wake of current Sony.

361d ago
derek361d ago

That GoW live service game was the dumbest idea ever. I thought they were remaking Bloodbourne or a Demons souls expansion (covering that broken arch stone). Sony was really panicked after that abk/Microsoft news hit. I hope it was a side project for Bluepoint and that there's another one in the pipeline. That GoW game apparently never got off the ground.

Eonjay361d ago (Edited 361d ago )

Blaming Sony for pursuing Live Service when the top 5 games every month by spend and engagement are live service games is illogical. Gamers are telling Sony where to invest so there is a real disconnect between what is said online and what people actually play. Who should Sony listen to? Clearly the logical decision is to listen to people actually playing games and whether we like it or not Sony would be in vioulation of it duty to its investors if it didn't try to pursue LS. People taking out their fustrations on Live Service games by attacking Sony and using it as the industry whipping boy does not fix the industry. You are just telling the rest of the industry that they can keep doing what they are doing because they aren't called Sony. All I hear people say is that they hate live service but every single month the top games are live service. You are all either lying or you don't know what you are talking about. Sony should pursue both SP and live service games.

Wonder who the rival buyer was 🤔

@raven: “ Wonder who the rival buyer was 🤔 “
.
One guess start with a micro and end in a box 🤣

thejigisup425d ago

Thought you were going to say it ends in enis

Michiel1989425d ago

all so caught up in your little war that you forget Tencent would even be a possibility, how cute

pwnmaster3000425d ago

So is Ms not a possibility?
If people say Ms does that bother you?

Michiel1989425d ago

what of my answer implies that? there is a reason i used the word possibility and didn't say: "it was tencent"
but i guess nuance is not a console war veteran's strong point.

1Victor425d ago

@michael: “ all so caught up in your little war that you forget Tencent would even be a possibility, how cute”

Psychologically speaking the key word is RIVAL think about it and take out your I’m better than you glasses he is speaking as a Sony employee and we all know there’s little to no rivalry between Sony and and any other company besides Microsoft Xbox and at the time the latter was on a acquisition binge rage.

Kid the only war I got going on is against ignorance, next time think before you write otherwise you’ll end up an obscured character without any trust on your words.
Do not expect any response after this.

Michiel1989425d ago

nah if it was a rival there would be mutual respect.
This is shameless slandering, double standard and no integrity all over an imaginary war for a company who doesn't know you or care about you so ofc im gonna call that bs out.

Talking like a sony employee is exactly what is so disturbing, you should only do that if you get actually paid for it, like an actual employee.

and don't call me kid when you can't even spell microsoft and instead turn it into microbox, psychologically speaking ofc

Fishy Fingers425d ago (Edited 425d ago )

It was probably more than likely Tencent or Embracer. They're the ones gobbling up smaller studios during that time.

Bathyj425d ago

This is the way you buy studios.
You work with them for years. New collaborate and have a mutually beneficial arrangement. And then you buy them. You don't simply gobble them up like.locusts just because your dad gave you $100b.

It's gow Sony got blue point. It's how Sony got insomniac.. I can see Arrowhead being the next acquisition if this trend continuous.

gold_drake425d ago (Edited 425d ago )

this is the difference between sony and ms

sony has long standing relationships with these companies before they talk purchasing

ms just waves the dollar signs and lets them die.

Michiel1989425d ago

yeah lets just forget the bungie purchase and how quickly they bought and closed the concord studio

gold_drake425d ago (Edited 425d ago )

bungie has been in close relationship with sony for a long time and they remained independent, so u are proving my point.

and yeh, firewalk studios was closed due to concord. but i never said that ms does that. i said they leave them to die after purchasing.

reading is a learnable skill

Michiel1989425d ago

sure they had a super tight knit relationship with sony, gimme a break. Then ms must have been basically bff's with bethesda and activision. Bungie remained independent? they've been hopping to get bought by or financially supported by companies like a cheap hooker and they keep messing up. They've barely been independent in their lifespan.

You say the difference is they build up relationships, i gave you 2 examples that they didn't but then the excuse train comes out, prime example of gross fanboyism. Condone one for what you condemn the other for.

StormSnooper425d ago

I can’t wait for their next game.
