Besides Sony and MS themselves do we have stronger, more reliable sources? I basically followed VGChartz all through last gen and have no idea how misinformed I may already be.

NPD's "data" isn't readily available. There's a registration of some sorts before you could access anything, if available at all.

Oh, Wii U sold more Software than PS4... How is that possible, without any games on the plattform? Just kidding^^ PS4 has no games, too, a of now.

-PS4 continues to dominate as expected. Will surpass the Wii U within the next month or two. It won't even need to launch in Japan. Something needs to be done about the supply issues in America though.
-Xbox One continues to sell decently in America with plenty of stock. EU sales are a different story though. Horrible.

So the two condemned systems have similar numbers, Vita being out for almost a year longer. I would say maybe Vita's numbers are what to expect for Wii U in a year but honestly I think it might do much better than that as several huge exclusives come out this year.

Wow,the PS3, even when it released a year after the 360 and received all US media hate, it surpassed the 360. That's quite impressive.

Microsoft could not beat Sony after all. Both PS3 and PS4 outsold their competition.

4/10 games are from next 8th generation....3 for 3DS and one for Wii U. Pokemon X is already the top 3DS game in sales...wow!!

Nintendo approximately sells 566k pieces of hardware
Sony approximately sells 737k pieces of hardware

over 1,591,000 pieces of hardware sold in the week after the holidays! yep consoles sure are dying ;-)

Vgchartz is always a few weeks behind the actual numbers because they are always auto-correcting to match manufacturer numbers after the fact, after first posting their guess-timate. The last official numbers were from MS saying 3 million XBO by calendar year end and Sony saying 4.2 million PS4 by Dec. 28. So, now Vgchartz is saying, as of Jan. 12 end of the week, the numbers are 4.4 million PS4 and 3.1 million XBO. The PS4 has still outsold 42% more than the XBO, even by these numbers. In February, the K/D ratio goes up even more.

Great job Sony! Now I need PS4 consoles in my area.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
