Resurrection: Wing Commander

Welcome to the third instalment in the Resurrection series. This time we take to space and relive the great battle against the Kilrathi in one of our all time favourite franchises: Wing Commander. There has been a major lack of space flight combat games especially on the console platforms, maybe now is the time for a renewal.

I loved this game.
For me they don't have to make a "new" wing commander with online functions. An MMO space combat sim sounds much like EVE online.

I'd prefer an offline RPG/space combat combo

I would definitely take a fully fleshed out SP space based RPG, as long as it had a heavy focus on space combat.

These games sucked up years of my childhood. Loved them. I also loved a number of the novels that came out tied to the series.
Too bad they made that movie... that horrible, horrible movie.

There is a huge hole in the market for a game like this. I had every Wing Commander game and so did many of my friends. I believe this game needs to be reborn.

I'm jealous of the people that can afford to play this game.

SimulationDaily56d ago (Edited 56d ago )

You can't afford $55?

thorstein56d ago

"Full disclosure: the author of this article has backed Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign."

SimulationDaily55d ago (Edited 55d ago )

...and as such, he knows better than you, who have never touched the game and can only rage about things you don't know. 😌

thorstein55d ago

So anyone critical of your site and it's blatant promotion of the game hasn't played the game? Yeah, okay, Abrael.

I didn't back it 14 years ago and I'm glad. That doesn't mean I haven't taken it for a spin.

SimulationDaily55d ago (Edited 55d ago )

Sure you have dude. Sure you have.

If you did, you'd know that there's a reason (actually many reasons) why people who actually play it regularly keep supporting it more every year, and more and more join.

And it isn't that they're all crazy and you somehow know better. 😏

Incidentally. "My site" reports on games. Star Citizen is a game. So we report about it fairly, like we do with other games. The fact that you don't like it is completely irrelevant (and also hilarious).

But hey, keep chewing on bile every time there's news about the game if that makes you happy. May as well get used to it. We're not gonna stop regardless of how much you cry, and the game certainly isn't going to disappear.

These people are so gullible.

TheCaptainKuchiki55d ago

Can we stop calling it crowdfunding???? "Crowdfunding" is only valid when there's no product available for purchase.
Since popel are now able to buy a PRODUCT, it's simply called REVENUE. It's not an unreleased product anymore and hasn't been many years.

All the people falling for this scam that will never be released.
